  • It’s not easy to bypass, if it were it wouldn’t be a very good system, but a new key can be programmed to the vehicle, but you need the correct software to do this, so normally a trip to dealer or an alarm specialist

  • My question is if the vehicle key is not available if lost or stolen, how would you be able to bypass PATS? Common problem here in the states too.

    Thanks.

  • Hey, mechanic, thanks for the vid!

Was wondering if this system of reading the PATS codes transposes to a significant amount (if not all) Ford models. My Dad who's not quite internet savvy has had problems with his Ford Fairlane BA G220 not starting sometimes and asked me to poke around for info. Any reply would be greatly appreciated :) thanks!

  • Al UK cars have PATS not sure about the USA, but if it does it will have the same LED that will come on and go out if the immobiliser is working correctly

  • Thanks : )

  • Yes and No, if you only have a basic EOBD scanner then you won’t get any codes, however if you have a scanner with Body Control software you would get a code of B10D7 for code 11.

  • can these codes be displayed on a scan tool?
