I think it's hard for me to understand sometimes the opposition to his message because when you take out his more polemical socialist utopian vision, most of his work is about the celebration of life and the worth of work... which at its most basic level should appeal to anyone with a heart.
very informative and interesting. I wish the text books in public high schools would focus more on peoples social movements and like this does, then maybe the citizens of the US wouldn't feel so indifferent towards one another.
The US that we knew will not exist within the lifetime of Tereviltwin's lifetime. fox noise will blame the liberals. The handful of wars we get into between then and now will be the cause. The rest of the world will simply give up on us. This will bring about isolationism, that of our destruction. You, Yereviltwin2 and other ditto heads, are to blame. When the time comes & the US is second rate will you do your duty & kill yourself? Or will you blame others and go about your futile lives?
This is an Anti-American rant disguised as a history book. While this reading did inform to a small extent; it largely misinformed by leaving out opposing views and injecting a heavy handed radical socialist opinion. This onesided quasi communist manifesto is required reading in college. No wonder our University system is churning out freshly indoctrinated liberals by the boat load to build their ideology from the ground up with our youth. Who that that old German guy that though up that idea?

I think the same thoughts every time I hear someone spouting phrases absorbed from the Fox News cavalcade of indoctrinators. Substitute "news" for "history book"; "watching" for "reading"; "dogmatic conservative" for "radical socialist."
Sure, universities are indoctrinating the small proportion of young adults in this country who afford to attend them. Good thing the public schools system isn't indoctrinating ALL our children into a progressively more fascist form of "representative" government. Sure, this was a one-sided account (if you choose to believe that) but the point is that it is from the OPPOSITE side as is taught in school. A high school US history class never mentions the fed, covert CIA wars, etc.
Less than 300 of us made it. Oh my god though, this book should be read by everybody (in and out of the USA). It is TOTALLY worth however long it took to listen to.
RIP Howard! You will always be a guide to the American People. You may be gone, but your message isn't.
