the prices on your website are outrageous. I enjoy the video reviews though. I go to my local jeweler who gives me the watches half of what your trying to sell them at..
This week I received the Omega Speedmaster Pro with caliber 1863 from ACE Jewelers. Very fast replies to mails, very fast delivery, well packed, in short: top service from this authorized dealer!
Very happy with this speedmaster, I wonder why I didn't bought this terrific watch earlier...
When I buy an Omega in the future, I definetely choose ACE Jewelers!
The Omega Speedmaster is an icon. It is also one of the few classical mechanical chronographs in the world. Other brands (Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Breguet, A. Lange & Söhne) have them also but only in precious metals that will set you back 40.000 + USD.
I hope Omega will put this movement in the De Ville series, which would be great for people who, like me, appreciate a polished steel case better. So fingers crossed that it will ever happen!
@WouterC87 Thank you for your feedback. It is much appreciated. Would be indeed interesting if they would use the same calibre in the DeVille series. Hope the designers at Omega HQ will hear us ;)
Indeed, I hope they will here us! Would be great ;-)
I know the Speedmaster pro is some kind of icon for Omega, but since they also gave it an automatic movement with date display a few years ago, the 1863 caliber in a DeVille series is not a weird thing to think... Since the Speedmaster and DeVille are practically the same diameter it wouldn't be that difficult I suppose.
Maybe I will post this idea on the Timezone and Purist forum to hear what others think of it...
@WouterC87 All of us here at Ace Jewelers agree with you :) We think you definitely should post your idea on these amazing fora. Do you also visit Watchuseek?
@ZippoZoid Thats a cardboard blow-up of the coin in the dial of the watch and the massive silver coin that comes in the box with this limited edition Omega Speedmaster watch.
@anifz16 Please note that Ace Jewelers is an authorized Omega retailer with two physical stores in Amsterdam and an international eBoutique. All watches are brand new and original sent to us straight from the factory.
I want to challenge one fact in the video: at 2:09 you say that they chose hand wound over automatic because automatics might not work in space.
I think the reason they chose hand wound, is that Nasa wanted a chronograph (they only tested chronographs). At the time, all chronographs were hand wound, so this was Nasa's only option.
Automatic chronographs were not available until 1969 (Zenith El Primero, and some Breitling I believe).
You are so right. Thank you for your feedback. I (Alon) should have said, AFTER 1969 NASA could have chosen an automatic chronograph, but continued using manual wound Lemania movements. You are so correct that the first automatic chronographs were launched in 1969. The race was between Zenith/Movado (El Primero), Heuer-Leonidas/Breitling (Calibre 11) and Seiko. Zenith was the first in January 1969 with 2 prototypes and Breitling & Heuer in Basel 1969 (April) with 100 working watches.
Thank you for your comment. Alon (in the video) is wearing one of the newest Omega calibres and new Speedmaster model: Omega Olympic Collection Speedmaster with reference 321.33.44.52.01.001 and available via Ace Jewelers website.
To all: Ilandudnoboy raised an interesting question: do jewelers need to wear a glove when handling precious watches and pieces of fine jewelry? If you think we do, why? Or, share with all of us why you think we shoud not. We receive many response advocating pro and con...
A serious collector would expect a dealer especially from a top jeweller to handle a watch with the utmost care ensuring that no scratches or blemishes appeared on the case .
Limited edition watches especially should only be handled in the correct manner.
People who criticise jewellers for being impersonal in wearing gloves do not fully understand what sweat or a careless handling can do to a precious timepiece.
I always handle my watches with a clean lint free cloth.
@llandudnoboy Thank you again. We love your passion for watches and appreciate your feedback.
For the record, we threat all our watches and jewelry with love and delicate care. If we do not wear gloves, we make sure we wash our hands and they are grease-free.And, usually we have showroom models and if we only receive one, we usually leave them in the box, wrapped in plastic. But, unlike in other countries we can not leave plastic on the watches and put them in the showcase. Customers want full
@llandudnoboy Thank you for your feedback. You raise an interesting issue! We usually do use gloves when handling such precious jewelery and timepieces. As you may have noticed in many movies featured on our channel, we do wear gloves. After receiving several responses online and offline, we decided not to wear gloves anymore. The biggest concern raised by some viewers was that they found it unnatural that we wear gloves and create a distance between us and the viewer (potential clientele).
HAD YOU NOT WINKED AT 0.08 I WOULD NEVER HAVE BOUGHT ONE.
KEEP ON WINKING!

Mr Joseph why are you not wearing protective gloves whilst handling such a lovely watch.
As a respected jeweller you should have known better.
