@Lucranco Honestly its been almost 2 years since I played WAR, and I didn't play a tank post-beta. I believe it was an ability all the tanks had, or a morale ability or something that channeled damage to the tank, or reduced damage taken in an area or something.

no offense but i think you use him to much as a damage dealer instead of a tank, you schould prob be focusing on keeping the front line bussy and taking on the melee damage dealers (witch hunters, slayers or white lions) so your healers and rangers can gain ground. Not trying to tell you what to do just think that they are better in that sort of thing.
In general I agree, but I find a good way to draw attention is to be the first target someone runs into even if its in their ranks. Also - this was beta, and not a whole lot of people were playing heals or effective support, making the 'tank' classes some of the more effective wrecking balls, but otherwise not very useful for open field engagements.
well thats a whole other story all together, but to be honest i catch myself hacking at healers and running after rangers alot to because everybodys attacking the tanks who are being heald (i think you can imagine that if there about 4-5 healers)
its the KoTBS a good tank class. i know some people think the black orc is better than the chosen just wondering about it because tbh i prefere order not destruction? thx

It was pretty fun for a while, I eventually got bored with it, when I left they were preparing large amounts of fixes, re-balances etc. and I wasn't around to see what all happened. Zealot/Runepriest can throw rediculous amounts of heals, but so can Shaman/Archmage, and Warrior Priest/Disciple of Khain... its... just a matter of playstyle, and avatar choice really. Hopefully Mythic is smart enough to have a free trial period by now... but when I left they didn't have one...
I tried out the Chosen, because i was looking for a good tank. And i must admit, after trying that, and THEN trying Black Orc...wow, Chosen sucks balls at tanking compared to Black Orc.
They have some tools that make the endgame instances much easier. I havn't played either enough to make a judgement on it, but I tend to hear the opposite.
If its core tank abilities your talking about, then obviously yeah. But im talking about career specific abilities. After i went over to the Black Orc, i found much better skills, like increasing armor, toughness, health, and in general much better simple skills which makes you much better at tanking in all aspects. And it was there i saw that the Chosen missed that kinda performance.
That may well be. Like I said, I havn't played either a whole lot. I just made the assumption off my fist impressions that they were equally capible. And it could entirely be coincidental that every group on our server clearing Lost Vale uses a Chosen MT. Although one of the groups does have a BO OT.

Yeah, not sure when exactly, but I think a lot of people are going to jump for the choppa, hit 20, and go back to their mains, and you'll see the Choppa population go down a bit, but... Way back... it was an amazingly fun class. I don't think they've announced when it's coming back. My money is on a mid-late january live event like Heavy Metal for the BG/KotBS, or at least an announcement about Choppa/Hammerer.

two serious questions, 1: how did u get mustard on your armor. 2: were did u get your cape. i´m friggin annoyed that i never finds a cape (or whatever its called)
This footage was from Beta, during which there was a full PvP set for rank 10 availible for purchase in T2 Fortresses, the set was removed because it wasn't intended for rank 10-11 players to dominate the field as much as they were with the set. The armor dye is still availible from the "Dye Armor" option when you talk to a vendor.
Whichever one fits your realm choice :-) The Knight of the Blazing Sun is prettymuch an exact copy of the Chosen but for Order if you like the chosen more but want to be order. The Blackguard isn't the same as the Ironbreaker. Personally stylistically, and as a Destro player I prefer the Chosen, but I am intrigued by the KotBS.
Those are actually pretty good reasons, since the nameplates actually move down for ya, both goblins and to a lesser extent dwarves can hide behind things easier, and in bushed sometimes. And the mount is amazing... I'll give ya that.
Yeah, the processor hasn't been any sort of a limiting factor. You won't be running on max settings, and you might be feeling it a bit in large fights, but it'll run pretty well otherwise.
basically what im trying to say is....if you have 2 Chosen standing next to each other, and their both say...level 20. are they both wearing the exact same armour?
Sometimes. It depends on how they've been leveling, one might be in the PvP armor set for rank 17-19, the other might have a mix-and-match from the PvE quests, drops, Influence or PQ rewards, and perhaps a mix of the two.
im getting this game for Christmas, but i want to know how well this will run on my computer. its a Q6600 Intel Core 2 Quad Processor with 4GBs of RAM
Should run great, not on max settings during large encounters, but by turning down the graphics a bit, you should be fine. Thats about what I'm running it on with a NVIDIA 9800 GT 1g.
Well, all three are quite good at their jobs. If you can chose an archetype, heal, tank, dps, your choice becomes rather obvious. The marauder is a very durable melee dps with some gun tools. The Chosen is an extremely durable pve tank, but is capible of doing some good damage if specced appropriately. The zealot is an amazing healer, but will be a pain to level.
well lately i've been 50% Chosen, 25% Zealot and 25% Marauder. btw how does the armour work? does everyone get the same armour or do you find different pieces around the world like in WoW?
do the armour sets depend on level. not sure how to explain this....ummm ok well once you hit say level 10 or something do you get a new set of armour automatically or do you have to get it yourself?
hey i played war for the first month about and then i fell behind and kinda stopped playing cause i couldnt get the hang of the game i came from wow so you may know what i dealin with had the same prob wit guild wars just couldnt get into the game cause i dint get it i had a dwarf engineer and a chosen guy i guess they would be what you call tier on like in the first place but their right aabout to move into the next one can you explin the game to me?
The game has many aspects, guidebook upon guidebook has been written about it... If you could narrow that down a little bit I'd love to help though. What is it you aren't getting a hang of/understanding?
That depends greatly on what you are looking to do endgame. The marauder can become quite durable, while still having a pretty good damage output, and some interesting utility, like pulling targets into the group. The marauder isn't however a tank, for the purposes of PvE bosses, and Keeps etc. 4 and 8 are surprisingly early in the game, and it might be hard to figure out based on what you have seen if that is your only basis for choosing.
What do you think is the most dominant class at Rank 40 PvP? To me it looks like it could be Chosen, but considering they need to spec in a lot of different stuff unlike a Black Orc perhaps. Wouldn't they be more of an advanced class? :p I'm very confused about what class I want to play, especially with the renown attributes to Strength, Toughness etc etc. So confused. Can you help? Please! :0
By the way, I like taking a lot of damage while giving a lot of damage basically being very dominant.
I think a Black Guard sounds like a good match to your interests, although it still is a little while before they become accessable. DoKs are surprisingly powerful, and durable if they are decent about keeping themselves up, but I hear a lot of complaining in T4 about being balanced finnaly. The BO is capible of doing more damage than the chosen from what I've seen, but I havn't looked into why yet. The game is very much balanced towards group PvP, there really isn't an insanely dominant class.
When will the Black Guard be accessible? And I've tried being a Black Orc, didn't really see the big difference in survivability from a Chosen. I've only played Tier 1 though so far.
You're basically asking: which class rapes ass but never dies. Hate to burst your bubble mate, but that doesn't exist in this game. It's called balance. With enough skill ANY class is capable of killing ANY class. And that's why I love WAR so much, none is overpowered. But I agree with Flanlord, Black Guard is probably your pick. I played that class through open and closed beta, and they're very capable damage dealers, while wearing the heaviest armor. They hit in early december.
Unless you have a character now, yeah. The "Heavy Metal" event allows for 1 week early access, but I don't think it can be "completed" if you missed the first day... not sure though. Black Guard wasn't playable as of the last section of closed, Preview weekend, or Open beta :-p.
Was in the closed since almost the start, so I actually had a taste of it. In any case, I'm sure they rebuilt the class entirely, so my "experience" is not worth much. As for the event, you need to complete it fully. I managed to squeze in yesterday and actually completed the first task, so here's hoping I'll complete all of them. Cheers.
Chosen are capible of some damage, but frankly prettymuch nothing next to that of a real DPS class. I would strongly discourage going from marauder to chosen when looking to do DPS.
I believe chosen start off in what would be best described as a grey/blackened wife beater, some brown khakies, a shield and an axe... It doesn't look bad, it just... isn't armor. :-p
At the time, the top set for the Tier 1, which is where we were, was the same set, so everyone who was able to get it was wearing the same pieces... and Dying it was our way to personalize it. So... yeah, particularly at the time we didn't have much choice in the matter if we wanted good performance. The armor thus far has been rather diverse, both by Career, and by individual. That said, I cannot guarentee that at rank 40, Renown rank 80, that people won't all be wearing the same set for PvP.
Because we knew that we were more effective drawing fire, and allowing the ranged squishies to get into range and do a lot more damage. Also, the Rank 10 Renown Rank 6 set didn't inclue a great weapon, so for most it was a 16 DPS 1 hander, or a 12.4 DPS two-hander from chapter 2. But you should _probably_ continue assuming nobody else knows how to play the game.
No, actually that gear has been removed from T1 for balance issues it caused against players just starting. If you watch the video much of this is against large numbers, and unhealed...
Killing other players, or healing playerw who are killing other players. When zone control flips to your side, you will also get some renown if you are in the zone.

Depends on which rank, on my first character (A little slower generally) I got 1-16 in ~10 hours. I am currently 35, with 5 days played, 4 levels above everyone else on the server. It takes long enough to be meaningful, but is enjoyable, and... definatly doable.
Thats a rank 10, and the armor being worn has been removed from the game as it was giving players at 10 and 11 a rediculous advantage that was not intended for T1.
i'm really into pvp, do you get the same amount of exp pvp as you do in pve? Also, what is the average que time for a senario, is it instant or is it like WoW where you wait for 10min?
You can generally move at a similar speed leveling wise doing one or the other, fastest doing both. Queue time will vary by server, and faction, and what you are queuing for.
You start with prettymuch nothing, but with Renown rank, at about 14 you can have a full set like the one in this video. the Rank 10 ones were removed for balance reasons.

id think chosen are like warriors from WoW good tanks but if u give them like a 2hd or 2 1hds they can DPS aswell in melee, and dish out some nasty combos
Yes. I assume at this point people that say that is like a warrior from WoW are unfarmiliar with the millions and millions of characters, games, builds, IP, and common sense that is based off of, which WoW had little-nothing to do with, other than using it as well.
im not saying they "copy" and "pasted" the warrior from WoW(other games) to be the chaos chosen from WAR i was just stating they have even said every class will be able to dish out DPS(even healers) so the chosen will not just be a tanking class(very good at it though)
meh alright, personaly i hate WoW even though i had played it since the first day it came out and quit about 6 months ago :P i cant wait for WAR! and nothin to be sorry bought, iv been quick to say some stuff too. all that matters is we want WAR to come out so we can crush WoW!
It shouldn't be a competition, I think PvP oriented players will play WAR, PvE will play WoW, and people with money and time for it that enjoy both aspects might play both.
Oh, it's definatly not bad PvE, from what I've seen there are fewer mechanics going on, but then again... pre-MC I suppose Warcraft didn't have a whole lot to talk about.
I played both black orcs and chosen to level 12. I feel that the black orc thrives with a shield and sword. where I have not played with that combo on a chosen. I did use great weapons (2handers) and found that you can put out alot of burst damage. Much like.. i hate to say it.. a Arms Warrior from WoW.
Huh. I've been hearing about how it's unbalanced atm, with more Destruction than Order. Yet I still found myself getting face owned by my lonesome in RvR, just like I saw here. Makes me wonder, then, if I should play a sorceress instead of a Marauder.
I imagine if better organized melee classes would be far more effective. When solo, and ventrilo turned off to allow for better audio with the footage, no... Running into an enemies town nearly and getting torn to pieces by artility is (not surprisingly) ineffective at best. Both are fun classes though, the Sorcerer/ess does amazing amounts of damage at range, but the backfire mechanic means you generally need heals to do full DPS.
Ah yes, that's true. I also considered Disciple of Khaine. Have any experience with them? I only got to rank 4; hardly any kind of descriptive measure.
A friend of mine played one with my sorcerer, amazing heals, able to heal-tank most mobs except the very top end hero units... they will likely see nurfs in days to come, but rather good for the time being.
It is, or at least has been during beta rather quick. The marauder I leveled (Last character I leveled) hit renown rank 6, career rank 10 in just over 3 hours. It gets pretty quick, the first time it might take you a while, but... you can start doing RvR really early. I'd discourage doing only RvR, and not killing a single monster, as that took longer, and you end up weak the first few levels.
I liked it when you typed better :-p But yeah, order is starting to look appealing because the traditional Eye-Candy is on destruction in the form of the sorceress. (at least in the new cinematic trailer) which on preview weekend at least, had tons of unorganized children clammoring around on Destruction. We'll see on release.
hey flanlord, question for ya, i dont really want to pve unless i have to but i wanna play a tank, that being said, i've heard that the black orc has quite a few CC abilities like tosses stuns etc. does the chosen get abilities alike that, cause in all honesty i really want to toss someone off a cliff
If they do it's a little bit further than I played the black orc. whats nice though, is that you can go to the first career trainer in each area and look at every skill your career gets all the way to 40. I know that the shadow warrior, and squig herder Have knockbacks.
I have heard rumors that some pre-orders are still coming with Open-Beta codes. You can try to get in by pre-ordering, I'd contact whoever you are pre-ordering with, and ask them though, as it is rather late at this point. It might still be possible though.

WHOOhooo just a lil opinion of mine i played an iron breaker and blademasta sowrdmasta w/e and the ironbreaker works alot like the warrior in WoW and ironbreaker is beston tanking AND dps for all you ppl who are choosing which tank to play.
It really is true, they can all throw on a 2hander and do decent damage, they can all take a hit. My friend got pissed off playing a black orc, because he didn't enjoy the "plan" mechanic, which If I understand correctly the Swordmaster more or less shares. Ultimately, just play around with 'em :-p
indeed it has. The "Counterparts" of several classes have been removed, what I list up there is the next-closest thing for the opposite faction, so... if your buddies are playing order, but you wanted to be a Chosen, currently, thats your best bet for similar gameplay.
Sorry im gonna have to disagree wiht you on that. if your comparing them like that then the closest couterpart would be the swordmasta because they put out more dmg and are less squishy than you normal tank, like a chosen is. the auras could be compared to the weapon enchantmentsi n a way. but still i wouldnt compare them to anything but the KotBS even if its not in the game. they said they might bring it into the game later.
That was my initial counterpart, but somebody argued that the "Plan" mechanic, and balance mechanic on the Black orc and Swordmaster made them more accurate counterparts, which is hard to argue with. Of course the KotBS is the counterpart. It depends really on which you want to play, if you want to tank, I'd go Ironbreaker, if you want the melee DPS, WhiteLion, or both, Swordmaster... I'm not getting into further debates about counterparts. Someone asked for them, so I gave them my best answer.
Crap... I don't remember offhand... they are in (I believe) chunks of 3-4, that will all have the same cost for primary/secondary placement on a piece of armor. It starts off with some teals/greens, then brown yellow... and beyond that I don't actually remember... Once I'm back on I can get more specifics.
Its something my friends and I have been discussing lately actually. The poster eye-candy is now on the Destruction side... so you have lots of immature kids playing witch elves, female dark elves, and "the bad guys", and you also have WoW vets playing Destruction to avoid Alliance... which has created (at least from what I've seen) a 2:1 population swing. Point being, Order might be the way to go for mature players this time. Only release, and a month can tell.
It has been doing pretty well, according to fraps, I am generally around "70-90 fps" which has dropped to around 30... sometimes It'll bottom out while recording though... the real issue seems to be the RAM, but I'm not sure... 2gigs (which I have) which... does the job, but I'm thinking about upgrading to 4. Obviously, a better card is a better card, but the 8600 seems to be doing fine.
just as a thought, the swordmaster isn't the chosen's mirror class, the black orc is. the chosen class no longer has a mirror class on the order side (mainly becouse they, possibly temporairily, removed the knight of the blazing sun class)good video otherwise
The Black Orc and the Ironbreaker both have more physical mitigation and a bit less dps output. Both order and Destruction have pretty close tank equivalents. The mirror classes aren't exact, but if your friends want to make you play the other faction, they are the closest you'll get.
The tanks are all a little different... I havn't played as the Order versions. The Black orc has high mitigation, and has to build up "da plan" using moves sequentially. The chosen doesn't have a mechanic like that. Once I have an opprotunity, I'll go further into the differences... But, as I said above, the class *COUNTERPART* is, from my understanding, the Swordmaster.

This footage was from Beta, during which there was a full PvP set for rank 10 availible for purchase in T2 Fortresses, the set was removed because it wasn't intended for rank 10-11 players to dominate the field as much as they were with the set. The armor dye is still availible from the "Dye Armor" option when you talk to a vendor.

Whichever one fits your realm choice :-) The Knight of the Blazing Sun is prettymuch an exact copy of the Chosen but for Order if you like the chosen more but want to be order. The Blackguard isn't the same as the Ironbreaker. Personally stylistically, and as a Destro player I prefer the Chosen, but I am intrigued by the KotBS.

Those are actually pretty good reasons, since the nameplates actually move down for ya, both goblins and to a lesser extent dwarves can hide behind things easier, and in bushed sometimes. And the mount is amazing... I'll give ya that.

Yeah, the processor hasn't been any sort of a limiting factor. You won't be running on max settings, and you might be feeling it a bit in large fights, but it'll run pretty well otherwise.

Sometimes. It depends on how they've been leveling, one might be in the PvP armor set for rank 17-19, the other might have a mix-and-match from the PvE quests, drops, Influence or PQ rewards, and perhaps a mix of the two.

Should run great, not on max settings during large encounters, but by turning down the graphics a bit, you should be fine. Thats about what I'm running it on with a NVIDIA 9800 GT 1g.

Well, all three are quite good at their jobs. If you can chose an archetype, heal, tank, dps, your choice becomes rather obvious. The marauder is a very durable melee dps with some gun tools. The Chosen is an extremely durable pve tank, but is capible of doing some good damage if specced appropriately. The zealot is an amazing healer, but will be a pain to level.

well lately i've been 50% Chosen, 25% Zealot and 25% Marauder. btw how does the armour work? does everyone get the same armour or do you find different pieces around the world like in WoW?

There are different pieces here and there, at the top end, most people end up using the same armor sets, much like in WoW, but they can be dyed.

hey i played war for the first month about and then i fell behind and kinda stopped playing cause i couldnt get the hang of the game i came from wow so you may know what i dealin with had the same prob wit guild wars just couldnt get into the game cause i dint get it i had a dwarf engineer and a chosen guy i guess they would be what you call tier on like in the first place but their right aabout to move into the next one can you explin the game to me?

That depends greatly on what you are looking to do endgame. The marauder can become quite durable, while still having a pretty good damage output, and some interesting utility, like pulling targets into the group. The marauder isn't however a tank, for the purposes of PvE bosses, and Keeps etc. 4 and 8 are surprisingly early in the game, and it might be hard to figure out based on what you have seen if that is your only basis for choosing.

What do you think is the most dominant class at Rank 40 PvP? To me it looks like it could be Chosen, but considering they need to spec in a lot of different stuff unlike a Black Orc perhaps. Wouldn't they be more of an advanced class? :p I'm very confused about what class I want to play, especially with the renown attributes to Strength, Toughness etc etc. So confused. Can you help? Please! :0
By the way, I like taking a lot of damage while giving a lot of damage basically being very dominant.

I think a Black Guard sounds like a good match to your interests, although it still is a little while before they become accessable. DoKs are surprisingly powerful, and durable if they are decent about keeping themselves up, but I hear a lot of complaining in T4 about being balanced finnaly. The BO is capible of doing more damage than the chosen from what I've seen, but I havn't looked into why yet. The game is very much balanced towards group PvP, there really isn't an insanely dominant class.

When will the Black Guard be accessible? And I've tried being a Black Orc, didn't really see the big difference in survivability from a Chosen. I've only played Tier 1 though so far.

You're basically asking: which class rapes ass but never dies. Hate to burst your bubble mate, but that doesn't exist in this game. It's called balance. With enough skill ANY class is capable of killing ANY class. And that's why I love WAR so much, none is overpowered. But I agree with Flanlord, Black Guard is probably your pick. I played that class through open and closed beta, and they're very capable damage dealers, while wearing the heaviest armor. They hit in early december.

Unless you have a character now, yeah. The "Heavy Metal" event allows for 1 week early access, but I don't think it can be "completed" if you missed the first day... not sure though. Black Guard wasn't playable as of the last section of closed, Preview weekend, or Open beta :-p.

Was in the closed since almost the start, so I actually had a taste of it. In any case, I'm sure they rebuilt the class entirely, so my "experience" is not worth much. As for the event, you need to complete it fully. I managed to squeze in yesterday and actually completed the first task, so here's hoping I'll complete all of them. Cheers.

Chosen are capible of some damage, but frankly prettymuch nothing next to that of a real DPS class. I would strongly discourage going from marauder to chosen when looking to do DPS.

I believe chosen start off in what would be best described as a grey/blackened wife beater, some brown khakies, a shield and an axe... It doesn't look bad, it just... isn't armor. :-p

At the time, the top set for the Tier 1, which is where we were, was the same set, so everyone who was able to get it was wearing the same pieces... and Dying it was our way to personalize it. So... yeah, particularly at the time we didn't have much choice in the matter if we wanted good performance. The armor thus far has been rather diverse, both by Career, and by individual. That said, I cannot guarentee that at rank 40, Renown rank 80, that people won't all be wearing the same set for PvP.

Because we knew that we were more effective drawing fire, and allowing the ranged squishies to get into range and do a lot more damage. Also, the Rank 10 Renown Rank 6 set didn't inclue a great weapon, so for most it was a 16 DPS 1 hander, or a 12.4 DPS two-hander from chapter 2. But you should _probably_ continue assuming nobody else knows how to play the game.

Depends on which rank, on my first character (A little slower generally) I got 1-16 in ~10 hours. I am currently 35, with 5 days played, 4 levels above everyone else on the server. It takes long enough to be meaningful, but is enjoyable, and... definatly doable.

Thats a rank 10, and the armor being worn has been removed from the game as it was giving players at 10 and 11 a rediculous advantage that was not intended for T1.

You can generally move at a similar speed leveling wise doing one or the other, fastest doing both. Queue time will vary by server, and faction, and what you are queuing for.

You start with prettymuch nothing, but with Renown rank, at about 14 you can have a full set like the one in this video. the Rank 10 ones were removed for balance reasons.

id think chosen are like warriors from WoW good tanks but if u give them like a 2hd or 2 1hds they can DPS aswell in melee, and dish out some nasty combos

Yes. I assume at this point people that say that is like a warrior from WoW are unfarmiliar with the millions and millions of characters, games, builds, IP, and common sense that is based off of, which WoW had little-nothing to do with, other than using it as well.

I played both black orcs and chosen to level 12. I feel that the black orc thrives with a shield and sword. where I have not played with that combo on a chosen. I did use great weapons (2handers) and found that you can put out alot of burst damage. Much like.. i hate to say it.. a Arms Warrior from WoW.

Huh. I've been hearing about how it's unbalanced atm, with more Destruction than Order. Yet I still found myself getting face owned by my lonesome in RvR, just like I saw here. Makes me wonder, then, if I should play a sorceress instead of a Marauder.

I imagine if better organized melee classes would be far more effective. When solo, and ventrilo turned off to allow for better audio with the footage, no... Running into an enemies town nearly and getting torn to pieces by artility is (not surprisingly) ineffective at best. Both are fun classes though, the Sorcerer/ess does amazing amounts of damage at range, but the backfire mechanic means you generally need heals to do full DPS.

A friend of mine played one with my sorcerer, amazing heals, able to heal-tank most mobs except the very top end hero units... they will likely see nurfs in days to come, but rather good for the time being.

It is, or at least has been during beta rather quick. The marauder I leveled (Last character I leveled) hit renown rank 6, career rank 10 in just over 3 hours. It gets pretty quick, the first time it might take you a while, but... you can start doing RvR really early. I'd discourage doing only RvR, and not killing a single monster, as that took longer, and you end up weak the first few levels.

I liked it when you typed better :-p But yeah, order is starting to look appealing because the traditional Eye-Candy is on destruction in the form of the sorceress. (at least in the new cinematic trailer) which on preview weekend at least, had tons of unorganized children clammoring around on Destruction. We'll see on release.

If they do it's a little bit further than I played the black orc. whats nice though, is that you can go to the first career trainer in each area and look at every skill your career gets all the way to 40. I know that the shadow warrior, and squig herder Have knockbacks.

It really is true, they can all throw on a 2hander and do decent damage, they can all take a hit. My friend got pissed off playing a black orc, because he didn't enjoy the "plan" mechanic, which If I understand correctly the Swordmaster more or less shares. Ultimately, just play around with 'em :-p

indeed it has. The "Counterparts" of several classes have been removed, what I list up there is the next-closest thing for the opposite faction, so... if your buddies are playing order, but you wanted to be a Chosen, currently, thats your best bet for similar gameplay.

Sorry im gonna have to disagree wiht you on that. if your comparing them like that then the closest couterpart would be the swordmasta because they put out more dmg and are less squishy than you normal tank, like a chosen is. the auras could be compared to the weapon enchantmentsi n a way. but still i wouldnt compare them to anything but the KotBS even if its not in the game. they said they might bring it into the game later.

That was my initial counterpart, but somebody argued that the "Plan" mechanic, and balance mechanic on the Black orc and Swordmaster made them more accurate counterparts, which is hard to argue with. Of course the KotBS is the counterpart. It depends really on which you want to play, if you want to tank, I'd go Ironbreaker, if you want the melee DPS, WhiteLion, or both, Swordmaster... I'm not getting into further debates about counterparts. Someone asked for them, so I gave them my best answer.

Three quick questions:
1) How do you generate life after fights etc? Water and bread like World of Wankcraft?
2) How do you move across larger distances? Mounts only/birdies/ships etc?
3) Can you play the game and alt-tab in and out of the game with ease, can have e.g. winamp playing in the background etc without any problems?

1. Health regenerates quickly, and your actionpoint bar (and the actionpoint bar of any nearby healers) will be full very quickly.
2. There are mounts starting at level 20, which currently cost 30g. There are flightpaths in every major zone, which are more or less instant.
3. I've been able to pretty well, tabing back in will leave you with a black screen for a little bit, but it'll load back up pretty well.

Crap... I don't remember offhand... they are in (I believe) chunks of 3-4, that will all have the same cost for primary/secondary placement on a piece of armor. It starts off with some teals/greens, then brown yellow... and beyond that I don't actually remember... Once I'm back on I can get more specifics.

Its something my friends and I have been discussing lately actually. The poster eye-candy is now on the Destruction side... so you have lots of immature kids playing witch elves, female dark elves, and "the bad guys", and you also have WoW vets playing Destruction to avoid Alliance... which has created (at least from what I've seen) a 2:1 population swing. Point being, Order might be the way to go for mature players this time. Only release, and a month can tell.

It has been doing pretty well, according to fraps, I am generally around "70-90 fps" which has dropped to around 30... sometimes It'll bottom out while recording though... the real issue seems to be the RAM, but I'm not sure... 2gigs (which I have) which... does the job, but I'm thinking about upgrading to 4. Obviously, a better card is a better card, but the 8600 seems to be doing fine.

just as a thought, the swordmaster isn't the chosen's mirror class, the black orc is. the chosen class no longer has a mirror class on the order side (mainly becouse they, possibly temporairily, removed the knight of the blazing sun class)good video otherwise

The Black Orc and the Ironbreaker both have more physical mitigation and a bit less dps output. Both order and Destruction have pretty close tank equivalents. The mirror classes aren't exact, but if your friends want to make you play the other faction, they are the closest you'll get.

The tanks are all a little different... I havn't played as the Order versions. The Black orc has high mitigation, and has to build up "da plan" using moves sequentially. The chosen doesn't have a mechanic like that. Once I have an opprotunity, I'll go further into the differences... But, as I said above, the class *COUNTERPART* is, from my understanding, the Swordmaster.
