@TheHeroicGrunt The Yomega Dash has a medium sized bearing which is okay for responsive play, but if you want to get into more advanced yoyoing the Ooch yoyo is a better and cheaper yoyo by the same company. It comes with a larger bearing which plays great out of the box, but if you clean it makes the yoyo perfect for unresponsive play.
@yotricks I have the yomega maverick and it seems to sleep to the side during some of my tricks. Is there something that I can do to center my yoyo even more. I do throw a decent sleeper and I try to line up the string exactly but if they aren't perfectly aligned then the yoyo goes to the side. Where can I get a bearing with a groove in the center of it
@lilpolo20 When a yoyo sleeps to the side it is almost never the yoyos fault. A center trac bearing will make no difference with this either. You are right that the yoyo will go to the side when you do not keep the string straight, and the only thing you can do is keep practicing to keep your tricks more straight. You can also use the string to straighten the yoyo out when it gets crooked. If you push the string into the yoyo during a string trick it can balance it back out if it starts to lean.
@yotricks Thank you so much. Dang, I never knew that yoyoing was this hard. I know a couple of tricks and maybe 3 are somewhat pollished. The others need work and these are just intermediate tricks. I can't get boingy boing for the life of me. I dont have trouble with the split bottom mount, but after I line the strings up and start to bounce the yoyo between the strings. The yoyo always comes off of the sting. I see a year of practicing intermediate tricks before I can do the ones I want to do.
@TheVincentMo If you are looking to learn unresponsive yoyoing I would get the Luminator Unresponsive Kit, if you are looking to learn tricks like Split the Atom I would get the Luminator Advanced Kit. Of course both of these kits have the Luminator in common which is the best yoyo we have for 1-handed tricks. If you are interested in 2-handed tricks I recommend the Ultimate Two-Handed Kit.
I thought I was doing something wrong because the strong was winding up around my finger during the rotations, and then I saw the slowed down replays. Whew
@anoitedn94 There's nothing to change my mind about. Faith isn't a team you join, or a job you take, it's something that you either have or don't. Now please mind your own business, and have a nice day.
@hwisang123 When you are getting into unresponsive yoyoing it is often true that you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a solid unresponsive yoyo I would look to Duncan or YoyoFactory as they tend to keep their standards quite high. Pick a price point (30-45, 50-75, over 75, etc) and find one that looks cool to you. If you get it from one of these companies you really can't go wrong.
@failfaillol That's a good question. It is hard to say, but usually bearings will spin about three times longer than a fixed axle yoyo. Even longer if you are using a large size C bearing.
when ever i do that part where you go from a split bottom mount to passing it over and whatever he said, i always end up back into a regular front mount again. what am i doing wrong?
@Frogiful That is not necessarily wrong. After the first underpass, if you bring your opposite hand above your yoyo hand then you will be in a front mount. Instead of this you need to leave your opposite hand under your yoyo hand and push it forward into the string and then bring your yoyo hand under the yoyo. At this point you will basically be in a front mount again, so all you have left are the flips
I'm not sure if that explanation is any better than the video, but hopefully that will help.
@yotricks I'm not sure, but I figured it out yesterday, I had been doing the part you did at 0:23 to about 0:32 wrong, but I can do it pretty well now.
@drgnfrc13 Are you using the wide bearing on your DM2, because you should be. You also wanna make sure that bearing is lubed up pretty well. Split the atom will only really work well on a nonbinding yoyo. It's pretty easy on the DV888 I've been using.
@dinosarefriends Yes. I was doing it way wrong before, but I figured it out. This trick is 10x easier than I thought it was at the time. I have now moved on to more complicated tricks, like Buddha's Revenge (the # of steps to that trick is driving me insane).
@CompMasterFullRage Do you have a responsive yoyo or unresponsive? If it's unresponsive, you're either not throwing it right or not throwing it down hard enough. If it's responsive, get an unresponsive one. The guy at the yoyo shop should know what and how you want to play.

I can't do it. every time I try it, the yoyo just shoots up and hits my fingers (which is pretty painful since I'm using a DM2).
drgnfrc13 1 year ago
@drgnfrc13 Does it seem to shoot up because the string is getting slack, or does it seem to be because the string is wrapping around the yoyo?
