  • haha that song makes the video.. great job

  • Does the train even feel that? Do you need to give more power to keep up speed? :)

  • The music really sucks!

  • that train has made a snow plow out of a pile of snow!!! bet a big rig couldn't do that. \

  • I'd like the video about 12x more if you didn't play this music.

  • exelent video and great music :)

  • What a cool job.

  • I LIKE IT A LOT

  • I wonder if its possible to lay in the snow in front of the plow, it looks like a bed. HAHA, Or does it eventually go under the train?

  • great vid fantastic music

  • Best Train Music Ever

  • I would jump onto that snow on the cow catcher hahaha looks like fun.

  • @KartKing4ever Wait what?

You know that's the last thing you will ever do right?

  • @RealCadde If I fall through.

  • @KartKing4ever Yeah i thought about it. you might be able to surf it. But why risk it right?

  • @RealCadde I guess you're right...

  • do you do parking lots too or just tracks...?

  • hey Sir wich town of temisaming are you driving by

  • That's some fine picking .....yesum..just fine.

  • haha h2's get stuck in a half inch of this stuff :P

  • That was a fun virtual train ride! Yeehaaaa......

  • Railroad music stereotype.Mute.

  • Great videos and great music! Thank you

  • Thanks for all your great videos, Hogger. I still get a laugh out of the "Mickey Mouse" clip.

  • try to do this in europe. The division master here after this movement cut a few belt from engineers back. a big kick ass and out from salary. You americans you think you have all. but here the locomotives are like a being has names and is respected like a real feeling human. For snow plowing are specialized machines.

  • @kdlehel If you did your homework before opening your left wing eurotrash mouth you'd have found out that Hogger1 drives trains in Canada, NOT the U.S., Idiot.

  • @NVTrucker what a lame you are there on the big island. You got alot of money to buy every day a new car. You never came up on the europe s level. Never! But this is democracy you cand do anything!

  • what a beauty..it's 50 degrees here right now..i can't imagine that:(

  • still watcciing ha ha

  • Looks pretty smooth. I used to work on an aligment gang for CB&Q/ BN Many moons ago. Ran a switch tamper. Still notice things like that, kind of funny.

  • Fuel conservation at its finest :-D

    Looks like 25 MPH track.

  • Much better to watch with the sound muted.

  • how build a snow plow: take a train, some hundert tons of weight. and just pull trough - the snow is makin' its own plow in front of the train :)

  • haha what is it with train people and frantic fiddle music? How about some manson or rammstein, man? xD

  • kewl :D

  • Killer!!! ;)

  • That looks like fun.

  • ha ha...

  • A snow plow being used for what it was intended for. Nice vid!

  • love it....ha ha

  • When you go through West Virginia, you're required to have at least 1 banjo player, 1 fiddle player, and one jug blower in the cab at all times. It's the law.

  • @gobo760 playing Deliverance dualing banjos? Lol

  • @gobo760

    USRA Code 107-2, Subsection W, Line T. Amended 1941.

  • NICE MUSIC WHO IS PLAYING IT

  • this is neat! I've never seen this kind of thing before!

  • @hogger01 How deep does the snow need to be, before you have to plow it?

  • This is so great. I laughed all the way it just looks so funny with the music. Awesome train and video! :)

  • Nice snowplowing with snowsnowplow. :D

  • Thanks for the nice impression. The music fits this well. My wife's uncle who lived a few years in Canada .... I can guess why.

  • why not put a wedge out front there?

  • never seen snow plow itself before XD 5*

  • Was that the engineer playing the fiddle? 'Cause he's pretty good, if so!

  • SUPER FIM and music.

  • I agree, but I let the video go until the song was over.

    Thanks for watching!

    Hogger01

  • @maxblack8888 you are two inch too short

  • @maxblack8888

  • LMAO!!!!

  • 1. epic fail

    2. the trains run on tracks so there is no need to steer.

  • you dont steer a train

  • @bykashka75 hahaha probaly the dumbest thing i have ever heard!!

  • love it my boy and me watch it over and over...love the music....we live in v.t. next to the central vt rr they dump it all in our back yard...lol...lol..

  • ha you should have gone on the snow pile

  • looks like soap that was in the microwave lol

  • Now thats one kickass snow plow.

  • Holy ******* $#!%

  • great point of view of the snow up ahead

  • Hypnotic

  • Great video!

  • you should go ride the snow lol don't

  • great video, love the shots of you pushing the snow ahead of the engine, I have done this many times in my 37 yrs of Canadian railroading, always found it amusing, but never filmed it...yet. Have to work this winter before pension..there's still time, if there's enough snow...

  • 6 stars for sure :D

  • i love living here!!!! love the snow

  • cant live there it feels like inside freezer!

  • Wow, this makes me want to go up north. I love snow, and the wilderness. Hey, how much do you have to increase the throttle to keep the train at speed through this stuff?

  • Would love to ride one of these Train-"mobiles" on snow and stand right up in the front!

  • Awesome

  • next time you go out playing in the snow spray the plow with PAM---snow won't stick.

  • ok i know that was a month ago but dang

    rotfloling dude haha

  • How do you steer a train o.O i thought it just went along the rail

  • Ha ha, you dont steer, the wheels follow the rail... He was being sarcastic! The conductor was doing the other stuff- horn, brake, throttle, etc...

  • niceeeeeeeeeee...pure diesel power...i like it!!!!

  • your videos are just awesome!

  • Kinda ironic -- the snow itself forms a "snowplow" so it can push itself out of the way... Thanks for the good shots.

  • Looks like a load or two of fun! :D

  • haha i was only kidding but thanks to this video i have 1 badass new song

  • Whos steering while yur filming?

  • Hi DieselSniffer3500,

I had the locomotive on auto-pilot!

Just kidding, my conductor is a qualified locomotive engineer. He takes over when I need a break to film.

    Thanks for watching!

    hogger01

  • Thanks very much for the video response!

  • lol if you dont have a snow plow then make one! outta snow of course lol, you cut diamonds with diamonds dontcha

  • very cool great vid

  • great vid!

  • cold, to cold

  • great .. well done

  • Impressive video!

  • thats so sweet man lol keep up the good work lol

  • Hi Kutzbill, Your right about the wet sand. The shop forman showed me how to get the sand working when they're plugged up. I use haywire and a pipe wrench. The pulp and paper mill we service has a steep piece of track to spot chemicals. When the wind blows off the woodchip piles it creates a fine dust on the rails. It's just like grease. I've seen myself stall trying to push 2 loaded tank cars because of this. So if the sand isn't working, I fix it myself.

    Thanks for the comment!

    Hogger01

  • does your train have a way to put a little bit of sand just in front of the wheel or does it just keep going from motion already applied

  • Hi Knhtwolf. We have sanders on the front and rear of our locomotives. But in snowy cold conditions these "Sand hoses" get plugged with ice and don't work. If the wheels start slipping and the sanders are frozen, you can reduce your throttle position or apply your engine brake to help stop the wheels slipping.

    Thanks for watching!

    Hogger01

  • Ah ok thanks for the info always wondered how that worked

  • I Used to work in the Galesburg shops, and every time we had to fix the sanders, it was because of wet sand. I always wondered why they were'nt designed better. I used to like the SW2's because they would shake when they slipped and that would cause the sand to break loose. Just some more info that no one really cares about, LOL

  • Love your videos here, I subscribed to you and hope to see many more great films of scenery & wildlife.

BTW, I never saw a snowplow made of snow till this :) if it weren't for the danger, it might be a blast surfin on top of that pile !!

  • wow! i love your vids there amazing! sweet angles, it must be awesome in the cab

  • Where was this video shot at? Fantastic footage by the way !

  • Hi Deputydog1956.

I took this video on the Temiscaming Subdivision near Mattawa Ontario Canada. On the Ottawa Valley Railroad, a RailAmerica property.

Thanks for the question & thanks for watching!

    Hogger01

  • Nice music form a nice video!!!

  • Hey, Nice video!

What do you do when/if you get stuck? Do you reverse up and try again or wait for help? In Australia we get hardly any snow, only in the mountain ranges.

  • hi kickerman360, The only time I've had trouble with snow is when lifting cars that have been sitting for the winter. In this case we pull a few cars at a time to shake them loose making sure they're still on the track.

Thanks for the question & thanks for watching!

    Hogger01

  • Fantastic video! Looks like a good place to get stuck. Has that ever happened to you?

  • Hi Larski.

Thanks for the positive comments on my videos.

I've never gotten stuck yet. At times you can feel your train draging a little more than without the snow.

    Thanks for watching!

    Hogger01

  • Awesome video 5*****

  • wow thats amazing lots of snow there youre pushing

  • I enjoyed the music and the video. Encore!

  • Hi Dave, Great Movie Clip. Great Music.

  • I love the wedge of snow acting as an ersatz plow. Great shots and thanks for walking outside and taping this!

  • do you ever go through the wawa ontario area?

  • Hi Teamhonda8mike8.

Our line is east of Wawa by about 500 miles.

I never have been through there by train.

    Thanks for watching!

    Hogger01

  • Im not sure if you was plowing or just pushing a lot od snow to the end of the line. LOL Awesome video however.

  • I wonder if you could surf on that wedge of snow being pushed along by the locomotive...That would be amazing...and extremely dangerous.

  • I like how you cant even see the track. :P

  • Nice!!

  • thanks for getting back to me so quick thanks for the info and I still think we need to switch jobs :)

  • where was this ?
