I love how Paul handled it he had fun during the interview whereas Gene lost the spotlight and was unhappy. I like Peter and all but Ace was impossible to replace he was naturally cool. I still love all lineups except the Animalize era but Kiss is still awesome either way.
@matthewosmond1984 I don't think he sucked either but I didn't like the way his style fit in with Kiss it didn't mesh. I liked Bruce also he was very talented guitarist but when he changed the solos on the classic Kiss songs specifically Love Gun they never mixed. Bruce was a great guitarist like I said but I just didn't like his solos on the classics. Otherwise Bruce was a great fit in the band.
@AFBN Ace is better than all the other lead guitarists Kiss had, I rank Ace #1, VV #2, Bruce at #3 (No Offense to Bruce) Tommy Thayer #4, and Mark St John at #5. You probably think Bruce is better than VV and i sort of agree with you if you do, Vinnie's ego got in the way of him staying with the group and the stuff Vinnie said about Kiss was way out of line. And Vinnie didn't change the solos on the classics like Bruce did so there's that.
@matthewosmond1984 no I agree with what you said but when it comes to Tommy I actually think he's better fit for Kiss than Bruce and Vinnie were just because he's able to maintain Ace's guitar playing style unlike the others. Granted none of them are anywhere near as cool as Ace but Tommy maintains his style of guitar playing unlike the others. Vinnie had the most personality behind Ace along with skill, Bruce had the talent but he didn't stand out he wasn't charismatic or memorable really.
@AFBN Yeah that's true Bruce had the talent but he didn't do anything memorable and Tommy does know all of Ace's solos. VV was okay on stage but Gene actually told me that VV and Paul almost got into a fist fight because VV had like six minute long guitar solos and he sold a fan a guitar for more than what it was worth so VV was a douchebag off stage and sort of on stage.
@matthewosmond1984 I heard the same about VV and Paul although I think Paul was in better condition and would've kicked VV's ass. Ya VV was a good guitarist and writer but he was a dick. ya Bruce was talented but the truth is he was pretty boring even more so compared to Vinnie and much more so compared to Ace.
@AFBN I met everybody who was a member of KISS except for Eric Carr R.I.P. Gene was nice(shockingly), Paul was nice, Ace was nice and funny (obviously), Peter was cool, Vinnie was nice (shockingly), Mark St John was okay, Bruce was nice, Eric Singer was friendly, Tommy was cool. Ace was nicer than all of them, well obviously. Sadly I didn't meet Eric Carr, God Rest his soul R.I.P
@matthewosmond1984 that's pretty cool my brother met Eric during the Asylum tour in '86 and he told me he was cool and funny. I'd like to meet all of them one day especially Paul,Gene and Ace. Although I am surprised Gene was nice I heard he was an asshole most of the time.
@AFBN Yeah, Gene is an asshole most of the time. My Dad met Eric during the Lick It Up tour. Eric was with his girlfriend and they were about to leave but my Dad asked Eric to sign the Creatures of the Night and Lick it Up albums and a tourbook which i now have. They were all with their girlfriends. Eric said "sure buddy i'll sign them for you. Then Gene came out but he didn't sign because well you know how Gene is. Paul signed too. and then Vinnie signed, their girlfriends were nice as well.
@matthewosmond1984 yeah I always heard Eric was the most approachable during the 80's non-makeup era because he was friendly. My brother says Eric was pretty funny to when he met him in '86. He said he met Eric after a show and he was signing autographs and hanging out with fans for a good portion of time. The whole time it was like hanging out with friends he said when meeting Eric Carr.
@AFBN Eric sounded like one person i would've liked to meet. I met Ace in 1998. He was fckin hilarious. He wasn't drunk or anything.. They were about to go in the dressing room when i asked Ace to sign some albums and magazines and he said "sure man, no problem" and I said to him "Ace your the coolest member of KISS and thank you so much". He said "your welcome buddy, fans like you are the reason why we're the best Rock n' Roll group in history". He's the best of the best no doubt.

I love how Paul handled it he had fun during the interview whereas Gene lost the spotlight and was unhappy. I like Peter and all but Ace was impossible to replace he was naturally cool. I still love all lineups except the Animalize era but Kiss is still awesome either way.

@matthewosmond1984 I don't think he sucked either but I didn't like the way his style fit in with Kiss it didn't mesh. I liked Bruce also he was very talented guitarist but when he changed the solos on the classic Kiss songs specifically Love Gun they never mixed. Bruce was a great guitarist like I said but I just didn't like his solos on the classics. Otherwise Bruce was a great fit in the band.

@AFBN Ace is better than all the other lead guitarists Kiss had, I rank Ace #1, VV #2, Bruce at #3 (No Offense to Bruce) Tommy Thayer #4, and Mark St John at #5. You probably think Bruce is better than VV and i sort of agree with you if you do, Vinnie's ego got in the way of him staying with the group and the stuff Vinnie said about Kiss was way out of line. And Vinnie didn't change the solos on the classics like Bruce did so there's that.

@matthewosmond1984 no I agree with what you said but when it comes to Tommy I actually think he's better fit for Kiss than Bruce and Vinnie were just because he's able to maintain Ace's guitar playing style unlike the others. Granted none of them are anywhere near as cool as Ace but Tommy maintains his style of guitar playing unlike the others. Vinnie had the most personality behind Ace along with skill, Bruce had the talent but he didn't stand out he wasn't charismatic or memorable really.

@AFBN Yeah that's true Bruce had the talent but he didn't do anything memorable and Tommy does know all of Ace's solos. VV was okay on stage but Gene actually told me that VV and Paul almost got into a fist fight because VV had like six minute long guitar solos and he sold a fan a guitar for more than what it was worth so VV was a douchebag off stage and sort of on stage.

Ya VV was a good guitarist and writer but he was a dick. ya Bruce was talented but the truth is he was pretty boring even more so compared to Vinnie and much more so compared to Ace.

@AFBN I met everybody who was a member of KISS except for Eric Carr R.I.P. Gene was nice(shockingly), Paul was nice, Ace was nice and funny (obviously), Peter was cool, Vinnie was nice (shockingly), Mark St John was okay, Bruce was nice, Eric Singer was friendly, Tommy was cool. Ace was nicer than all of them, well obviously. Sadly I didn't meet Eric Carr, God Rest his soul R.I.P

@matthewosmond1984 that's pretty cool my brother met Eric during the Asylum tour in '86 and he told me he was cool and funny. I'd like to meet all of them one day especially Paul,Gene and Ace. Although I am surprised Gene was nice I heard he was an asshole most of the time.

@AFBN Yeah, Gene is an asshole most of the time. My Dad met Eric during the Lick It Up tour. Eric was with his girlfriend and they were about to leave but my Dad asked Eric to sign the Creatures of the Night and Lick it Up albums and a tourbook which i now have. They were all with their girlfriends. Eric said "sure buddy i'll sign them for you. Then Gene came out but he didn't sign because well you know how Gene is. Paul signed too. and then Vinnie signed, their girlfriends were nice as well.

@matthewosmond1984 yeah I always heard Eric was the most approachable during the 80's non-makeup era because he was friendly. My brother says Eric was pretty funny to when he met him in '86. He said he met Eric after a show and he was signing autographs and hanging out with fans for a good portion of time. The whole time it was like hanging out with friends he said when meeting Eric Carr.

@AFBN Eric sounded like one person i would've liked to meet. I met Ace in 1998. He was fckin hilarious. He wasn't drunk or anything.. They were about to go in the dressing room when i asked Ace to sign some albums and magazines and he said "sure man, no problem" and I said to him "Ace your the coolest member of KISS and thank you so much". He said "your welcome buddy, fans like you are the reason why we're the best Rock n' Roll group in history". He's the best of the best no doubt.

@AFBN He was very cool, Gene walked out of the room and was pissed at Ace for signing autographs and told him that they have 2 hours to put on the makeup and everything and Ace said to Gene "The fans are the reason we're the best, and I don't ever see you sign any autographs for anybody. Gene replied by saying "Hey, i'm not the one who always shows up drunk all the time. After Ace signed the albums and magazines for me, He was pissed at Gene, But they got along during the show.
