You're welcome. I'm right there with you on the age thing but one advantage we have is that we lived this stuff as it happened. There is no substitute to what we experienced! We were extremely fortunate to grow up when we did! Speaking of Buddy Rich, he's from the previous generation, which is not to discount that he is one of the great influential players. He would be on the "Mount Rushmore" of drummers! Phillips played in his Dad's Jazz/Big band/Dixieland band at the tender age of 12!
All this great music off his first album..Yeah i was disappionted when he left UFO..But to leave and write all these tunes..Armed and ready, Cry for the nations, Into the arena! UFO, you made a terrible mistake..
......Pure high octane guitar ..Thank you Mr Schenker!
Michael Schenker was playing melodic guitar way back in the day slow & fast w/a vibrato that was slow & wide. I started playing guitar back in high school in the mid 70's. I was listening to Hendrix, Winter & Blackmore. I came home late one Saturday night, turned the tv on & WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UFO were doing rock bottom on in concert. I have been a Michael Schenker fan every since. I have seen him twice & he played his heart out. I will always listen to Michael.
Some would argue Cozy Powell is a powerhouse in his own right. I would point out Philips played in PH.D short lived, but spawned the original TESLA cover song Little Suzi with original spelling (can't recall here)
Incredible song and unbelievable photos of Michael. I love the first one!!!!! There was a local 80's Baltimore band called Mannekin who used to play this. Aahhh, good times.
Nice Post' reminds me of H.S. wicked drummer and vocals and of course guitar!

I love Michael Schenker, but Randy just took it to a whole new level in 1980.

@GameJourney Schenker was a huge influence on Randy and most other rock guitarists at that time-including Van Halen

You're welcome Gina! We used to play this song in my band Arsen. My all time favorite drummer Simon Phillips is doing the duties on this album!
