  • well done!

  • I can tell he‘s playn almost as quiet as he can. Some notes sounded undersupported. It was good tho. A shame that ppl have no taste n music.

  • TAKE FIVE Love this song. Al Jarreau ,George Benson,Quincy Jones,Grover Washington, Jr., Stevie Wonder, all playing TAKE FIVE.

  • :D beautiful :)

  • what does he want ???why ?

  • Is this disturbing the peace or keeping it?

  • He's playing Take 5!

  • Wow, he's great (and I also love Lady Gaga, so :P ).

  • i really want to play my tenor or alto in my own jazz band or even in marching band : D

  • He plays it wrong... a few notes..

  • So why is Lady GaGa famous for her shitty music that sounds like ass cheese and this guy isn't famous for his amazing music?

  • @7Jubal7 not even ass chesse, like ass blue cheese gone bad with some sour milk.

  • He is so good! Shame no one really noticed...

  • Love it..

  • like it! bravo...

  • It sounds heavenly when he begins to play the high notes at 0:25.

If I were the station master I would stop all trains at the station in order not to interrupt his music and resume services when he's done so that everyone can enjoy his music.

IMO this is the best rendition and sound compared to all other 'take fives' on you tube.

  • Priceless! Where is he? I tell you where he is - He is on his way to the next there!!!

  • WOW times SIX.

  • wow, take 5!

  • New York is a bit cold, nut I is not evil.....

  • He did a good job take five

  • I play alto and tenor my self, and that was amazing.

  • DO you think he knows that he is on youtube xD?

  • took up the soprano a few months ago and I think this guy a massive inspiration. Makes you keep trying to get better to try to make it sound that good.

  • This cat has a nice colorful tone. Digging it man! keep music real.....No effects, Computers (save for the one you use to watch him on, LOL).....Doesn't get any better than that.

  • love the vibrato in the high register!

  • @luf4rall you are right!

  • i would throw him in front of a train!

  • @ahaaaaaaaaah Ahhhh go listen to those retarded rap songs on money and girls then. ...That's the only thing making money today sadly...This guy should be famous imo if he isn't already

  • Look at this guy walking behind, 1:53, with an headset and not even glancing at this genius. Some people are so insensitive...

  • @m4rtinez49 There's a certain stigma with street musicians, which most douchebags like the dude you mentioned, will never cross. It's sad, really.

  • how can anyone dislike this playing !!!

get a grip you bell ends !!!

    well done .......;-)

  • If I hadn't watch this video I would have never known about this song. Also I'm am able To play it on clarinet. Thanks!!

  • @Jutnug Look up Dave Brubeck.

  • Good stuff.. Loving the Take Five solo.

  • He's great, I've never seen him, what station does he like to play in? The subway sounds with his sax gives it a real New York feel. Just like it was 1952 again and the Byrd was still with us making Be-Bop and Music History at Birdland (until they banned him from the club.) Charlie was used by a lot of greedy record people. They would shoot him up with heroin, stick a mic in front of him and let him play. What came out was the best sax playing of the time regardless of the heroin.

  • LOVE his groove. Really nice smooth calm jazz ya know?

  • wow! My nigga riped it. Beast as Sax Player. Keep doing what you do

  • awesome..

  • Yea!

  • Can someone tell me what model of soprano sax is that?

  • amazing :) not many people play as well as him :)

  • That's just terrible to see people just walk bye him as if he wasn't even playing... I mean that takes a lot of skill and people act as if they see that kind of thing every day.

  • @IxdokuxI

I know! What a shame...Most people now only listen to processed, digitized, and commercialized music.

  • @IxdokuxI they do, its nyc

  • @IxdokuxI

That's New York for you, most likely Manhattan

  • @IxdokuxI what do you expect. thousnds of these people don thave times to see everyone

  • another comment: very, very good performance here.

  • I play trombone and trumpet but If I were to learn sax, it would be soprano sax. (I never tried to play TAKE 5 on trombone!!!!)

  • @monteleone1010 i did........ it ended badly. =P

  • モーガン・フリーマン似?。素晴らしい才能を発揮するチャンスを掴まえるのがプロだと思う。そうでなければ上手いアマチュアでいいじゃないか、あなたがしあわせなら。

  • Nothin like a quality soprano player rippin through Take Five. Nice work! I would have given some change!

  • FAA there is more real talent in that one subway than there is in the hole of hollywood LMAO

  • What song is that?

  • How can there be 15 dislikes???

  • He's ok. But you guys say he's amazing? He's good, but not amazing.

  • @sporefreak105 Either you are NOT a soprano saxophonist, or you think Kenny G is amazing...

  • @fortuitous100 i am, and hes good - not amazing, not by professional standards. And please dont tell me i love kenny g, because, quite frankly, that is offensive. In the words of Pat Methany, Kenny G is an embarrassment to jazz.

  • @fortuitous100 I am. This guy is pretty good. In fact yes, he is great. But he is NOT amazing. And for your information, i absolutely hate kenny g's music.

  • @fortuitous100 ummm.... yea.... i play the instrument, and hate kenny g.

  • nice :)

  • Great Player, Great composer, Great album!! and Great city!!

  • ahhh...music! whoever says that thought/mind is just an illusion or just a stance/disposition doesn't know how musical creativity is possible given the limited sensory inputs that we have and the finiteness of our existence. thank you for the music.

  • I hope he wasnt robbed.I heard new york was a dirty evil place filled with dirty evil people.

  • looks like a gta IV station

  • @taxi7676 wrong gta IV looks like NY station :P

  • bravo

  • awesome.

  • Very well played, but the reed is old or very low so the sound' s not perfect

  • any one have 14 bullets??

  • I SAW THIS MAN IN MY TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY!!! I SAW YOU!!! YOU WERE AWESOME..... YOU ARE!;)

  • come to saint louis and you can get work, rather than playing in a cold train station

  • i gave a dollar to sum1 dat played same song ilovethebeat xD!!!!

  • love this !

  • good, very good!

  • lol nice Take 5 playing

  • I love this tone,,And the backgound.!!

  • that was tight you should play pro!

  • Great performance!!!!

  • fantastic !!!!!

  • ive seen this guy play

  • I really love it! I hope to play this song similar as you do,cos I lke the way you playing ! All the best from Barcelona, Catalonia- Europe.

  • Very cool! I Hope to meet you, or someone that carries all that tradition I see you carry... that´s NY, soon I´ll be there... Regards!

  • Good. Alittle choppie. Maybe a lighter reed

  • He's pretty good - the solo pays homage to the original Paul Desmond solo on the first Take Five track, but it follows too closely along with the solo to be creative. I would love to have seen this artist actually rip loose with his own work.

  • That guy is good, Boston has all the shitty musicians XD

  • good

  • were learning how to play this in band

  • i play oboe, and am planning on taking up the soprano sax as a second instrument. You just made me certain i want to play soprano sax!

  • AAA wonderful! bravo!

  • cool

  • ;-)

  • wow! its my dream, whtch it live, play it live too

  • Its A soprano sax

  • Good work man! Paul Desmond would be proud!

  • nice sound, sweet phrasé, thanks 4 the trip !

  • Yeah, I got the lead part on my alto sax in our orchestra, classic piece.

  • This is so ill in the subway underground. You wouldn't hear that . I was playing this on guitar and it is a really neat song to learn. Play on players.

  • COOL MAN CAN WE PLAY WITH AN ALTO???

  • @dragunovtkz Take 5 was originally on alto ofcouse you can play it on alto

  • @CesarBM2 thx!

  • @dragunovtkz haha yup yup! XD

  • this made me want to play soprano sax again

  • wow this guys really good. wat is he doing playing in a subway station. I like how he controlled his vibrato

  • i love take 5! this guy did a great job of playing it! =]

  • Greatest!!

  • This is not just any subway performer... He studied classical flute at Julliard University and then switched to Soprano Sax.

  • There's some beautiful playing in this performance. Thanks, and good job. I would never have the courage to do that.

  • he missed his train!!!!!! LOL Great song I love it, and just think that this song was not even going to come out because of the odd timing of the song. So glad it did, in my opinion dave brubeck paved the way for many artist to explore things outside the normal realm of 4/4!!!!! Nice stuff man

  • looks as if his hands could rap around the horn and snap it in half lol

  • He's pretty good. I love how controlled his vibrato is.

  • Ah yes, New York City: If it can happen here it can happen anywhere.

I have heard many great musicians and singers on NYC street corners, thank you for sharing!

    Gotta have great music!

  • Amazing. Hope I get to hear a street artist like him some day. Better get away from the country side and into a city then :(

  • Beautiful!

  • im gonna pick up the soprano sax :D . . . does the rule that brass players can't play wind instruments apply to reed instruments? id like to know lol

  • @GLkamina121 First off all reeds are wind instruments and yes. To play the soprano you need a really firm and controlled embouchure. So if u want to play soprano u need to at least start out with a sax or better yet clarinet.

  • Amazing! Keeping it real. This man is smooth. I Think how hard it is to concentrate with all the distractions. WOW!

  • so inspiring

    This guys amazing

  • :-D Nice job! But it would be considerable to respect the rythm patterns also between single phrases - this way it´s meaninglessly distracting...

  • Psychedelicsaxplayer, Are you saying his timing is off? Isn't that common for someone playing alone? I have that problem, I want to express certain phrases & notes & hold them a bit longer. Things get out of time that way.

  • this guy is pro man... he is really cool

  • I now want to learn this on soprano

  • Fantastic.

  • That was some kick-ass timing too...

  • I like your version of that song :)

  • sweet, i wanna learn that in the right key on soprano. I usually just play the same notes as I do on the alto fingeringwise but it sounds really cool played right.

  • the best take five

  • Waoooooooo.......CONGRATULATIONS!

  • Very nice!!!

We need that in our chaotic Sao Paulo subway. :-)

  • wow it sounds nearly the same on the soprano as the original... and it sounds great in the subway lol

  • LEVITICUS hahaha good nickname

  • I love it! Shows how Take 5 can sound on a soprano!

  • Hell yeah man..... Beautiful

  • he even has the solo down

  • nice... really smooth and clean...

  • definition of slick

  • Very nice.

  • Very nice performance and song. I would have loved to been able to play this on the alto when our stage band played it. However i had to play the baritone sax. So I got the harmony part, but ya. Great song. Nice Job.

  • He is a giant. Why he is not yet in the tv, radio, papers, around the world for gigs etc? Great musician!

  • Too cool for words, so I will just hush up and listen :)

    Play on, man!

  • Nice soprano! What kind is it?

  • great job!!!!

  • I know this on Alto Sax. I need to try it on Sop! It sounds awesome!

  • man i need to get my hands on a saprano sax. those things look fun.

  • Where is this guy playing? New York?:D

  • Excellent. Very impressive.

  • LEVITICUS!!! how crazy it is to see him again on youtube...nice hearing him play...

  • wow i love it, i wanna meet him some day ;) wow

  • like the vibrato on this, but think less tounging in the tune section would be good

  • too bad I've not met this amazing guy ...

  • nice i forgot what song is this he's playing

  • it is Take Five from Dave Brubeck (theme originally played by Paul Desmond on alto sax...)

  • nice vid shame about train at the end lol

  • Really I thought it really put the tone and story of the chart into perspective as a tale of metropolitan life.

  • Comment removed

  • nice

  • Too bad we don't have subways where I live. :) LEVITICUS ROCKS!

  • I am splendid. The man who sat down listened attentively to a bench. I can laugh at the figure which I play without relations even if a train comes. Japanese resident FUKU

  • I love this and the way he plays it is something magic

  • So is New York...

  • think I'ma take five.... not bad

  • so nice, the subway echo adds to the mood. Tone is really nice

  • at 1:47 I thought the guy in orange was gonna kick him out lol

  • Well done!!! if i was there,i would have invited that guy to have a drink and talk about musique.thank you!

  • the song is in tthe title dumba ... take five

  • what song is this

  • so smooth and clean

  • This is great! I love it because it is real music! Making music in real life not just a performance. This is the heart a true Musician, to make music with life.

  • just as smooth as desmond himself

  • Great. Beatifull playing. Nice sound. Excellent
