  • In my opinion the 'Line Hunt' or Stand out line is void in most news stories - The headline is the 'strength line'

    For example in - The Sun - "That's for Lockerbie" (reporting Gaddafi's death)

    The Story itself doesnt need to have a huge impact, because the shock factor itself (increased by the bloody picture of Gaddafi's face) is effective enough to tempt people into buying the newspaper.

    The strength line is used more in broadsheet newspapers - in human interest stories - rather than gossip.
