It was so popular that singer Aaron Neville recorded "When The Saints Go Marching In, Featuring Who Dat" in 1983. Although it was widely used in New Orleans for years leading up to (but rarely unless in sarcasm during the 1980 season). 1983 is when it became known EXCLUSIVELY as the Saints' chant.
