It's a BBC film about a nuclear attack on the UK which leaves the entire country and its people devastated. It is also one of the most disturbing and shocking films I have ever seen....

lol mrneimenamine or wateva we have stockpiled tens of THOUSANDS of nukes.... some have yields over 1 megaton (about 100 times more powerful) they have an effective blast radius of about 6 miles. From my resources it would take only about 600 nukes (about 285 megatons) to in fact destroy the surface of the planet. The current global nuclear arsenal is about 21,000 nukes, yea i was surprised to. However, you cannot bow up the planet (like in star wars), only destroy the surface of it.
