@22grena no not at all... i was pointing out that the troops (at that time) are the ones watching my videos and it makes me happy knowing i could do something that give back in a way (even if its small) for them making the sacrifices they make....i wish nothing but peace and happiness to the people of iraq just the same.
Really cool way to start this review !! I didn't start watching beer reviews until I got back only because it was like torture to sit and look at someone enjoying something I wasn't able to have. But all the same it's always a good thing to hear someone say that!
@monkeycaveman yeah i keep track of where my views are coming from, and at that time, thats where the were being watchd the most. so i thought it wa a great time to mention that.
Orellion is wrong... O'Hara's is brewed by the Carlow Brewing Company and IS NOT Beamish. Heineken bought out Beamish a few years ago and now brew it in their brewery across the river from the original Beamish brewery in Cork. Beamish still lives!!! (mostly in my belly)
@corklike i go buy whats on the can, and if its not listed there, i go to the site, and if its not listed there i go buy what "ratebeer" says. i don't remeber where i got the abv on this one, but its not uncommon if i got the info from "ratebeer" for the info to be slightly wrong. and i do get flack with the way i pour from time to time but i love pouring it that way, so i will continue that.
@jjrudy41 they were bought out but it is now made in murphys brewery and is outselling murphys big time. I'm not having a go but certain little things were wrong. It's not sold in america anymore because the new owners have decided to stop selling it outside ireland.
Great review, I've wanted to try this for a long time since I love Guinness but never found it were I live. And the review say the companies been sold so i'm probably shit out of luck on this one. Would there be any other beers you would recommend similar to Guinness and readily available throughout the us.
yes. you can try murphy's, or even young's double chocolate stout in a can. there ae plenty f other beers that ae much better than these, but if your looking for something similiar to guiness start with them.
Unfortunatly I haven't found a store were I could buy a Beamish or a Murphy's stout here in Germany. You get Guiness very easily but I haven't found any other stouts here.
I'm curious to know if u served this cold. Judging by the small head after u poured it, it doesn't look like u did. Beamish must be served really cold. I too prefer this to Guinness, particularly if its from a can. And just to note u poured it correctly, some people here say u poured it wrong. They should read the back of the can which give directions on how to pour it. There is no need to tilt the glass as if u were pouring it from a tap. That's why it has a widget. Good review man.
it was so long ago i can't remeber if i served it cold. i usually do review them pretty cold. so i woud imagine i did, but i still enjoyed the way this one regardless of the head i had. also i'm glad yu liked the way i poured it. that is the one area i receive the most flack for. sure sometimes pouring it with a tilt is optimal, but thats not always the case, and i hapeen to like it poured right down the middle. thanks for watching and glad you like it.
Good review, not sure about the way you poured it though! Anyway, like Guinness it tastes much better from a tap than a can but it's still quality. Here in Dublin I go for a few pints of stout after work every day and I alternate between this and Guinness. I have to agree with you I slightly prefer this to Guinness and it's cheaper. Good job though :-)
thanks i'm glad you liked the review. its always better on tap, but its still serviceable in a can . i prefer this over guinness my self. not that guinness is bad, but i find it very average and highly overrated. i have had so many better stouts.
Good review and good beer homie. I just reviewed Beamish on my site and I agree, this is as good, if not better than Guinness. I wish it was more popular and widely available.
sweet. I told you in comparision to guinness ,there not badly priced, and actually a better taste(imo). I hope you like it, let me know what you think.
just had it and it was pretty great, the only small drawback was that it had a thinner mouthfeel to it but this isnt always bad since I can have more than 1 and not feel like I just ate a meal lol I love this beer I'm thinking of picking up a couple of more cans
its at least cheaper in upstate ny. i pay like 5 bones for a 4 pack of this. guinness is like 6 bones for a 4 pack...and like i said its better... but murphys is another one that i think is better still. but thats like $7.50.
You should seriously tilt the glass and pour down the side.

No problem with your respect for the brave fighting man but do you really think that Iraqis want to stop you doing beer reviews?

Beamish is now known as O'Hara's.
Orelion 1 year ago
@Orelion really.... i use to get ohara's back when beamish was around, so did oharas change there receipe to be more like the beamish?
jjrudy41 1 year ago
@jjrudy41 I'm not sure, it did taste a lot like Beamish last time I had it, and the waitress said something about Beamish being called O'hara's now.

Beamish is 4.3% not 4.0% and you poured that can like shit. I'm not trying to be cocky but I'm from the city where beamish was(is) made.

I was poured a pint of Beamish Irish stout beer (Straight from Ireland) and I was blown away. Best stout beer I had.
If you never had Beamish it might be to late.
Heineken Ireland is selling Cork Beamish operation. :(

much better than guinness. i can't believe its being sold. i hope whoever buys it still makes it.
