  • Amazing! great guitar Paul Reynolds, super hit 80s

  • The Lead Singer looks like Sam from Glee.

  • @kolokidi Do you currently live there ?

  • Sounds like they could have used some more filters and guitar pedals.

  • SAW THE FLOCK FIRST TIME IN PALLADIUM 1982 IN NEW YORK CITY 14 STREET. THE PRODUCERS OPEN UP FOR THEM. LONG TIME AGO. GREAT BAND, GOOD MEMORIES.

  • this is my all time favorite song from these guys :)

  • paul reynolds lead is awesome!!!!!

  • I've always wondered why A Flock Of Seagulls hired the singers dad as the drummer

  • @StabiloBossDan lol, thats his older brother ali, he just happened to have a balding gene, where og course mike always has long hair

  • @mcwilliams162 I'm sorry I knew they were brothers, just being sarcastic as the drummer Ali always looked out of place I thought. Great band though

  • i wish i was alive during this music era.

    fucking boring 90's....

  • @cozzzmo123 80' was great, but 90" was too! dont forget nirvana, blur, oasis, smashing pumpkins, rhcp, manson, and others...

  • @sociolog1000 That is very true, I love Nirvana and smashing pumpkins but the pumpkins aren't as good as they used to be back then

  • @sociolog1000 arent you forgetting Incubus?

  • The delay cut out on the guitarist leaving the bassist walking strutting goofy cuz they probably point to the bassist when there is a problem

  • best... music new romantic....oh wave !!!

  • i am very impressed. i always thought that this song was studioed up. nope, they were able to pull it off live very well.

  • Ouch...I'll stick to the studio version.

  • @sneakypower yeah cuase the hair dresser's voice isn't very good

  • Sounds just as good live.

  • Good band. I think it's funny Paul Reynolds was born on the same day and year as my mom.

  • @deathbypie69 The difference between WD40 and brylcream. ;-)

  • @BandLeafStorm im a fan of metallica and all of the above but i still like a flock of seagulls dont try to cut a whole genera of music out

  • @logan93561 well i think this is better. got any problems with that? :O

  • Great guitar playing.

A lot of New Wave songs have great guitar playing. People just don't really think about guitars when they think of New Wave.

  • I JUST LOVE ´80..SPECIALLY BECAUSE I WAS BORN ON THAT DECADE IoI

  • did anybody else notice at 40sec. pauls delay was off on his guitar. you can see him looking down. bet he was miffed.

    (paul is a pimp)

  • That guitar sound is sweet!

  • This is awesome! I saw them at Park West in Chicago in 1982. Can't remember the month but the date on the envelope from the photo place says 10/26/82 so it couldn't have been too long before that. My friends and I had a front table right up against the stage. We were to the left and sitting in front of Frank. My friend, Debra, had a crush on Paul so she made sure I took a lot of photos of him as well. (more.. won't let me post more now)

  • For years I thought my ex took these pictures like he did so many things but I just found them! YEAH!! I guess that is what happens when you move 14 times in 28 years.

BTW, the (then) local band Ministry opened for them.

  • lucky you! It would've been great to see them live.:)

  • ohh i would like to see those pics !! i'm so jealous ;) and i'm glad you found it !!!!

  • Thanks, icecreamberry & agena83! I don't use Facebook or any of those sites. I used to use Photobucket. I wonder if there is a place i can post the photos. And also if I can somehow protect them. I do have a good photo program. I will have to do some checking up on this. Any suggestions on where I can post them? Thanks:)

  • No-one of that name in the band back then. Maybe one of the 'new' guys that Mike Score is using. I seem to remember someone in a band from this era with the surname Steadman though. You got me thinking now ;)

  • sorry just a question. is does one of their band members have the surname . steadman?

  • gary steadnin played on 1986 dream come true album as session guitarist. later he became an official member and was featured in heartbeat video. he played in live shows 1986-1987. then left the band along with all other members except mike

  • hahahahahahahahah cos gary steadman teaches music at our school. lol but he is pretty awsome on the guitar.

  • omg only if Flock of Seagulls could go on tour

  • The guitar paul is using in this vid is a very rare Kramer xl5, ive been looking for one for a long time and they are not an easy find.

  • i found a guy from london who sells one for 2600 dollars...when i agreed on the price he disappeared.. what an asshole

  • I met Mike Score on Friday after their show in Wolves. Really nice down to earth guy stood and chatted to us for half n hour. Hope they come back to the UK next year!

  • Damn that was awesome. I wonder why Pauls echo didn't come on sometimes? Oh well doesn't matter, he's a great fucking guitar player, echo or no! I've been crazily hooked on his sound lately. Always loved AFOS but lately just craving that insane guitar sound. DNA is an incredible instrumental.

  • how do YOU get Pauls's sound?

  • I remember all the great 80's songs when you could watch MTV non stop with no advertisements and good music

  • I bumped into Paul at lunchtime,he's doing great, still love this song.

  • to me this is classic rock and its awsome

  • thats hillarius do you see his flock of seagulls hair

  • Back when pop bands where, well.. Bands

  • I recently learned that this first album tells the story an invasion of UFOs.

  • first ung guitar?

  • this is really good live too

  • Paul Reynold's solo at 1:40-2:07 sounds awesome as!

  • guitar players delay didnt kick in right...still sounded rad anyways.

  • The harido, the music, the lyrics, the outfits... JUST SO VERY CLASSIC yet UNFORGETTABLE.........

  • OH my...this song is just PERFECT!

  • This is so good... I cant find words for it

  • ran lights for them at bookies in Detroit

  • Holy style! If you had to describe what the 80's looked like to somebody all you need to do is show this video. Excellent vid!

  • nice hair

  • cool

  • dis niggas are da sht!!..lol..

  • Comment removed

  • go a flock of seagulls!!!

  • why does he look younger here than in his music video

  • AFOS for life!

  • Costa Del Sol 80s Style

  • Flocking sweet live footage. Along with "Electrics"

  • I bet they did so much blow that night

  • i'm an 80's girl, love this music, absolutely fabo.....

  • at the end, the guitar player looks like bud bundy

  • are they even playing the fucking instruments?

  • It was the 1980s. That should be enough to imply they weren't.

  • Actually, it's not hard to tell that they are.

  • what the hell! of course they are playing instruments, this is live!!!

  • your a dumbass. There's Drums bass Guitar and Keys. Sure there not Van Halen. But there playin alright.

  • "They only hear the shit thats in the pop sence." ???

This is a total pop song. What are you really trying to say?

  • imo kings of leon first album was good, then they went downhill, same with the Foo Fighters pretty much. the rest of them are pretty meh

  • The Arctic Moneys are Very good. They have their own sound and play it well. They're great live and very skilled for an Indy band. God(whom doesn't exists) knows the number of mediocre skilled indy bands lol

  • Sorry to hear that. Music totally went to hell after 89. The 80's was the best music in musical history...

  • yep yep yep!

  • very true.

  • I disagree. The 70s had pink floyd. The 90s had Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Prodigy. The 80s only had about 3 songs I like.

  • Thats cool if you disagree however 95% of the people will tell you the 80's were the best. It also depends on what kind of music you like to...

  • If you think the 80s were bad you must have some terrible musical taste cause the 80s had some of the best songs ever written in the history of mankind.

  • i actually like this better than the studio version

  • not bad, he sounds the same recorded

  • i agree soundtrack for vice city is the best of all-time tommy verceti!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • vice city is the best game of all time!

  • ACE

  • wow...

  • Yes one the 8o's hits. I love it !!!! good video ;)

  • awesome

  • their guitarist looks liek the kid from honey i shrunk the kids...hahah for real

  • The space/futuristic theme they had was awesome!!

  • I remember living in Hong Kong when this song came out. I was in the US Navy attached to the US consulate there, and my fiancee and I went to a small club called the Goldengate, and they played thisong over and over again. Really nice to dance to. That was 26 years ago, but still seems like yesterday. Thanks for bringing back GREAT memories. Very much appreciated.

  • and i ran...i ran so far away:)

DEFNETLY ONE OF MY GREATEST 80s TRACKS

  • when you see the close up on paul it really looks like he is wearing a chef shirt.

  • What's funny is that his jacket is actually made for women.

  • But the one he is wearing in this video is made out of cloth, the on he has that's for women was made out of Denim.

  • Damn, the delay ain't working adequatetly

  • i think it was a dry signal or the delay was just shorter than on the album. sounds better i think, more clarity here

  • Well, of course, you're a blues dude, I ain't. I'm a delay head, because it's real and rad in it's own way, that without just doesn't cut it.

Album version grade 10, this version grade 2.

  • that's cool. i use delay on occasion for that Jeff Beck vibe, and reverb.....

  • never heard this live.he can sing.brill band and song.

  • OH MY GOD I LOVE this song!! Havent heard it in years. FLOCK OF SEAGULLS is GREAT!!!!!!!!

  • You are right this song is to be remembered as a fav of all time not drugs and shootings geez whats this blue marbled world comming to so much garbage ! Band influences on kids thats why this world of our is the way it is it starts with the adults(parents) then its passed on and on and each time its worse! I truly remember this song as the age that music was music and i still listen to afos to this day since the early 80's

  • the drum set he has is truly awesome

  • is it just me or does the main singer look like pete bennet outta big brother lol

  • And just one other thing, I hate seeing comments that say "VICE CITY!!" Shouldnt this song be remembered for more than just a video game about drug deals and shooting people.

  • agreed!

  • well...it IS kinda the theme song, but I do see your point.

  • its better this way...otherwise people remember it for the dude's haircut....However its a great song

  • this song was great & still is great. and i agree about vice city

  • I havent commented on AFOS in a while. First thing I've noticed is that people are calling these guys emo. This isnt emo, this new wave, a new romantic movement. Emo songs involve screaming and blowing my f-ing eardrums out. These guys deliver a sound so beautiful. I think Wishing was one of the best written songs of the 80's.And I'm sure this band had influenced many other popular bands that came in the future, but no body knows it because their fame was overshadowed by a silly haircut.

  • it sounds diffrent then back in 82
