  • recorded with a calculator hahaahahah funnier than the vid wwwerrroo hahaha so funny

  • what was this recorded with a calculator

  • fake, set up. why would he be filming him in the first place from way up there. not only that, but what kind of pussy would have to use straps with only 200 pounds on the bar?

  • @bench595 is a security cam software... you Einstein...

  • @1CANGREJERA wow, I didnt know the security cam WHICH USUALLY IS POSTED ON A WALL STATIONARY can move all over the place....Einstein! pfffttt!

  • @bench595 this video was taken recording the monitor baby... use the logic brahhhh look at the the rigth side, thats the security software... sry 4 my bad english...

  • look at me mommy! watch me watch me try to pump and tone my pretty boy muscles with this worthless ass piece of shit machine and FAIL like there's no tomorrow!

  • Another example of weak grip strength. There is no excuse for that. He should have been holding on with his hands. He was depending 100% on the straps. Guys like this need to stay out of the gym. They just get in the way.

  • @zerk54 i can see if someone's grip is weak. everyone has weak grip before it's strong. but, this guy is such a WEAKLING he doesn't even want to challenge himself. for one thing, i'm against machines altogether. serious lifters need to do BARBELL rows, ass to heels squats in the rack, deadlifts, standing curls, bench press, and overhead barbell presses to build real strength and muscle throughout the whole body. next, i'm against support gear. i dont even use a belt or gloves to lift.

  • Lastly, you'll note I DID give you the benefit of the doubt in saying that some lifters DO consider it a back lift. You did not give me such a benefit. You claimed I was wrong. Well, sir, I am not wrong. I will stop short of saying that you are strictly wrong, but you've certainly shown a tendency toward unwarranted confidence in the validity of your opinion. (Do a Google search for "are shrugs back shoulders" and read the posts on body building forums where MOST other lifters agree with me.)

  • "The shoulder shrug is a free weight exercise that works the trapezius muscles in the neck and SHOULDERS." - EHow.com (emphasis mine)

  • "Although it is one continuous muscle, the trapezius has three distinct sections: the lower, middle, and UPPER trapezius. It has a quadrilateral or diamond shape, with the inverted triangle of the lower trapezius, which runs from the middle-to-lower thoracic vertebrae upward and outward to the bottom inside edges of the SHOULDER blades, pointing downward from the SHOULDER blades toward the mid-back." Wisegeek.com (emphasis mine)

  • "...the upper trapezius is the muscle on top of your SHOULDER..." About.com (emphasis mine)

  • @Cambria2007 - I posted the Wiki reference from one of MANY sources of evidence I gathered on the subject. I wanted to post a list of links, but YouTube would not allow me to do that, so I kept it as simple as possible. Now that you've called my intellect into question, however, I feel it's appropriate to counter with a comprehensive support of my position. If you have any desire to be a rational human being, you will take these information sources into consideration:

  • @Cambria2007 - You're correct in that the name "shoulder shrug" does reference the motion more than the appropriate "group" for the lift. And yes, I looked it up on Wiki. While lunkheads hurl barbs anonymously across the internet, rational and reasonable people check their facts to assure their perspective is not in some way incorrect or incomplete. Despite a volume of personal experience on the subject, I gave you the benefit of perhaps having a unique perspective of which I was unaware.

  • Some people DO consider the shrug a back exercise and some people DO their shrugs on back day, but to say I'm wrong by classifying them as a shoulder lift is to be stupidly misinformed.

  • That's what he gets for using 3 YEAR OLD worn straps.

Wrist straps in general are extremely effective, especially when working the back and some shoulder lifts (shrugs). Your grip strength will never be able to keep up with your larger muscle groups.

Those of you already prepared to call me wrong are free to join me at my gym in Aurora, CO and max out the seated machine row 3x12 with me.

  • @BlackPenumbra ok, you're wrong. Shrugs are not a "shoulder lift".

  • @Cambria2007 Oh, you're obviously correct. That's why "shrug" ISN'T short for "shoulder shrug" and why most lifters DON'T do shrugs on shoulder day. Or... Or... Maybe you're talking from your posterior. Read up, fuzzball... Paste directly from Wiki under "Shoulder Shrug": "The shoulder shrug (usually called simply the shrug) is an exercise in weight training used to develop the upper trapezius muscle."

  • @BlackPenumbra ok? So you looked it up on wiki, and right there in front of you, it explains it, and you think I'm wrong? Are you seriously that dumb? The name of the movement refers to the fact that u shrug your shoulders up to make a contraction. the muscle being worked is the trapezius muscles, which make up 1/3 of your back. You probably think a clean and jerk is some asshole with good hygene.

  • This could have been avoided had he just manned up and developed the grip strength of a little girl rather than wearing straps. Tell him just ti get a mani/pedi and take a midol and call it a day.

  • LMAO!!!

  • using straps on any lift looks like dangerous business to me. I have seen people use straps on benchpress. I have more control not using straps and gloves I want to have complete control over what I am doing.

  • i only use straps whey i do (for me) heavy deadlifts because it will come the point where your back is too strong for your grip. and i think its stupid tu interrupt a set only because of your strenght in the forearm.

but why using staps on benchpress???

  • HAHAHA

  • thats what the fool gets for using straps on a freakin seated machine row, what a puss, build up your grip
