They take the focus off the issues and reduce the debates and electoral process to kiddy school yard brawls that don't resolve any of the issues that our country and our world face today.

He doesn't let his children watch the show, because he wants them to know him for dad, not the character he puts on Colbert Report. He's open minded, witty, and good with politics.
