We had an album of the Johnson Sisters that we played over and over. One of the songs we loved was "the Haven of Rest" which they did with Pierce LeFebvre. "Sweet Jesus" was another great one from that album. Fantastic! Thanks for posting this music.
I finally got to the bottom of something. One of my uncles lived on a farm in Blanchester, Ohio. His next door neighbor was Ruth Riggs. Turns out these "Johnson" twins are Ruth's sisters, one who married Jethro Burns (of Homer & Jethro) and the other who married Chet Atkins.
I HAD THE PRIVILEDGE Of PLAYING IN A BAND THAT PLAYED THE BACK-UP MUSIC FOR THE JOHNSON SISTERS At THE ALABAMA STATE FAIR IN 1963. THEY WERE GREAT PEOPLE TO WORK WITH!
I was with Judy and Mary last week having lunch with them and showed this video. I think they were pleasantly surprised this was online. It moved them at how people still thought so much of them. Truly, these are great ladies and so talented.
I learned to sing by listening to these girls..I have loved them since I was a child...It would be great if there were more vids posted by them...The best sister act ever..Thanks
Thank you so much for sharing this. I have looked everywhere for video footage on the Johnson Sisters. Also, if you have any clips of the Blue Ridge and LeFevres from the old Gospel Singing Caravan, I would love to see them. THANKS AGAIN! Mike
Hey, every 1 who watchs this, ur watching my grandmother! I hope u think shes as good of a singer as I do. There was another sister, but sadly, she died
@JesseUscot I just wondered if you were speaking of Margaret? She was a good friend of mine (here in Helena) and I miss her to this day. This is one of 2 videos that I just saw for the first time today and they were awesome. Have a blessed day...

Judy was the winker...
Saw Mary yesterday and right now they do not have any videos to put on YT. Mary was going to speak with Judy and discuss it further.
Judy still has her karaoke shows in he Bham area, so you can see her there.
