I like how a lot of these pictures depicted a sympathetic side to the soldiers of the Wehrmacht. Whether it's hunting for sport, racing makeshift chariots, or just plain goofing around, they show that the German Military wasn't entirely full of cruel monsters, they were simply ordinary Human beings who were led by a terrible regime that was entirely out of touch with the ordinary German people. Indeed, they were fighting for Germany, their Fatherland, not for Nazism.

Such was the suspension of unbelief employed so successfully by German propaganda before and during the war. Needless to say many others were innocent of such atrocities.

When we look at Rommel, we see that he was not a nazi because he refused to carry out Hilters orders against partisans and the civiliation population of the military disctract he was in charge before he was sent to to inspect the Altantic Wall. So yes where there many that fought and died for Hiltlers ideology? Yes but that does not necessarily mean that EVERY GERMAN WAS A NAZI. Heck look at Otto Craius. My Oma who was born and raised in Germany and Thank God, got out of Germany before the nazis took over Germany. Now I could be wrong, but I doubt that I am, I do not think being a Jew she was a nazi. Yes there are documentation of Jews supporting Hilter. Actually maccas1329, Hilter tired a coup in 1923 in Munich but it failed and he was sentenced to prison. Then in 1933 Hilter was sworn in as chancellor by Hidenburg. After the the Reichstag caught on fire in 1933, more of the population voted nazi members in the March elections. If was from these event that Hilter and his partners were able to vote themsevles out.

Now as to your comment "Don´t be fool to believe that " not all germans were nazi " and the rest that follow, is a weak agrument.

@Danezu28 i know. my great-grandpa fought as a radioman in the pacific during wwii. he saw action on Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, New Britain island, the Philippines, and 1 other that slipped my mind. he earned 3 bronze stars and the Army good conduct medal, and was a Staff Sergeant when he was discharged. he still had the Ka-bar that was given to him by a marine on Iwo Jima when they were flushing the japs out of their hidey-holes. i wish he was still alive :'(

@gnarwl Rommel should have seen early in the war that Germany would be defeated. His successes came when an inexperienced U.S. was just entering the war, via N. Africa. That's what made his reputation in Nazi lore. He was pushed back by Patton, who read him like a book (in fact, he did read Rommel's book). He wasn't a rabid SS, but he was still a Nazi, and he made serious mistakes. The fact that he committed suicide suggests he was, like most Nazis, psychologically flawed.
