That said, my submissions remain the same in all other respects. E.g., I regard the word as innappropriate when it is used to condemn, or praise, or prefer a person because of the colour of his/her skin, and I do not think Dr. Laura's innappropriate use of the term was motivated by hate.
I am surprised at the irrelevance of all of the arguments made here. I expected more incisive commentary.

This guy is wrong. Dr Laura used the word first. Jade asked about the "N" word. Dr. Laura said it out three times before the caller said it.
