He "entertains the weird while preserving his scientific skepticism"----so TM's insights are always so reasonable and amazing at the same time. Thanks for this whole talk! Pure fresh air, and to me the best parts are 10-12. The universe an increasingly complex, ever-faster-changing phenomenon, like an unthinkable cosmic fugue (Pt 10, 6 mins in) ---wow.
6:19 After you hear some people laugh at Terence's geniune statement you then, if you listen very closely you can hear someone say "What is he talking about dude?"
Not cool to be saying that about someone who is much wiser than you. Although saying something like that would be a common question asked only because of the amount of knowledge this man has, but nonetheless the manner that the person in the audience asked the question was more rhetorical which is a bit unnecessary to say the least
so sad that he would die just 2 years after this. imagine if he had lived to see 9/11, bush's presidency and the wars we're in, the huge increase in mobile technology and the internet. his voice was sorely missed this past decade. for anyone who is interested...Timothy Freke, who calls himself a stand-up philosopher, is, in my opinion, the best candidate to follow in McKenna's footsteps. look up his 2005 lecture in Bath, England on youtube. it's brilliant. you guys will love it.
YES! i thought i had seen every mckenna video there was to see. now i stumble across this? i have alot of work to do today, this will be a nice little thing to listen to while working. love it! my reaction was pretty much the same as that top comment up there. :)
@TeteFutuito he's an excellent speaker. public speaking is all about slowing down. talking too fast is the #1 mistake made by people new to it. he's massively articulate and well-read...i can't imagine how interesting his internal monologue must have been...because his speaking was so poetic and covered so much ground.
conjecture, speculation, mythology, quackery. that's all mckenna was/is. you believe him because you want to believe him, not because you have researched what he teaches and found it to be true.
@ajones123ful well i doubt you've done research if you dislike the guy.. read his books, say Food of the Gods, his theories are backed up by tons of information as he cites numerous scientific journals of other professional botanists, psychologists, physiologists, etc
@timeruin plus all it would take is a rare spore probably to cause that rare cancer in his brain... RIP Mckenna.... its too bad that we lost his collection too
He looks like George Lucas' smarter, older brother :)
Seriously, he is such a great inspiration to me, and should be for future generations. His words are like a surgical knife that cuts through the veils of culture, schlokmeisterism and crapola, the nightmare of history and the failure of bad taste and nonsense.
@MidnightDC696969 Dude....wtf? I JUST DID THE SAME DAMN THING TEA AND ALL! We must be related haha. Good old Terence. A revolutionary I love to sip on some tea and puff some smoke to. Life is good :D

No one has communicated or will ever communicate like Terrence did! The man is a legend!

The part where he takes sips of water.
It's the human parts of his lecture, what gives his body away to be matter. Made out of flesh and energy.
To hear such wisdom come from such a place. Is a beauty of what life is.

@ajones123ful blah blah... nobody does research, we all bind naive, followers, we just buy everything he sells - what a stupid generalization.

Terrence McKenna.
Possibly the greatest living walking dictionary that has ever grace planet earth.
I gawked, squint my eyelid while sticking my tongue out in amazement hearing his brilliant choice of vocabularies.
He's the BEST for me.
There can be no other.
