guys, please realize that the point of the video was to explain what the "fatal funnel" is, and some ways to avoid that one specific threat. If he closed the door, you would not be able to see the shooter. This is a technique-specific demonstration video for an internet audience, not an all inclusive training exercise for the participants.
Hahaha, at the end they're like 'yeah, or you could just keep pointing the gun forward while you peek around the corner from the other side.' That's what I would do instinctively! Good videos though.
Good try, but when he opened the door, he didn't clear behind the door *once open still a gap between door and wall* enough to fit one medium size person.
Top, there are a few things that could be changed to better reflect modern training doctrines(notice there is no weaponlight on the gun), but as a primer to avoiding the Fatal Funnel" it does well.
We could arm chair general any training video to death. My point was simply that you have to think of the target you present the other guy. When the wall behind you is lit and you are silowetted your a dead man walking.
You'd think as a shotgun technique instructor at Gunsite he'd have some better accessories on his shotgun than a Marine-issue leather sling, a bead sight and a neoprene shell holder....
"Do not kick door" look at all the footprints on the door LOL :D

May I suggest that Jack closes the door behind so as to avoid giving up a silowetting himself?

G&90srock,
This video was produced well over a decade ago. Not only that, but KISS is a concept that has application in combat.

Great video. Please upload more of these! They are very helpful!

bead? you can see the rifle sights on the shotgun...

You can, but the equipment is still a bit antiquated (as are some of the techniques).
Understand that this video was shot more than a decade ago.
