Very, very useful! I've been eating out a lot here. It is interesting how much easier it is to learn the material when you are using it in everyday life!
Unfortunately for me most of the Chinese restaurants in my town are run by Mexicans and I don't get to practice Chinese very much there. Just Spanish. lol
Thanks for another great video Peggy! I noticed there are many different ways to say the same thing. 我平常都说: 橙汁 for orange juice and for 巧克力 (Chocolate)我平常都说: 朱古力。 但是我听过 : 巧克力. Keep up the good videos! 非常感谢。
@sonicxisforever When I was in China, I heard people saying 橙汁 instead of 柳橙汁 too! But never heard of 朱古力 so I looked up in the dictionary and it does mean 巧克力 too! Thanks for your comment! ;)
ni hao Peggy! wo hen gao xing ni shi Taiwan ren!!! wo hen xiang qu Taiwan~~ :) ni shi shenme difang ren? wo keneg shi er yue qu Taipei!! ke shi wo xianzai bu zhidao!! oh and ni de video(?????).... zhen bang!!!
Hi Peggy. Did you enjoy the meal? Your vids are very funny & equaly very helpful so... Bang ji le. Now, about that waitress :>). She's kinda Miaotiao, Piaopiao, Ger Xiao, Shuishe Yao, Shimao and, Ke'ai a. Do you know her? I think I must've seen her somewhere on Youtube before but I can't seem to remember where >:)... I'm so confused Anyway, do you know where that restaurant is? I must go to China & find that girl cuz she's so cute. Xie xie a :>)
So after one and a third of a semester of learning Chinese from a teacher who's home town is Beijing, I've come to realize that Chinese is spoken differently in Taiwan that it is in mainland China. (Or so I believe) My teacher taught us that when saying "guo3zhi1", that its proper to pronounce it with an "r" at the end of "zhi1." We haven't gone over how to order food from a restaurant yet though. Good video by the way! I would rate it a 5 star if that was still an option on Youtube. :)
@2and5ES Yep, if you watch my interview with David from Beijing video, you would see the difference in our pronunciation concerning the 'retroflex - r sound'. :) Thank you for your continuous support! Xie xie.
I like your videos, but I do recommend you have the pīnyīn with the actual accent marks like "tāng" instead of "tang1". I think it is much easier to comprehend that way.
Your lessons are absolutely top of the bill..thank u. One day i will be able to talk Manderin. In my place (wageningen the netherlands, it's called Beijing on the rhine)) are hundreds of Chinese students, meet them everywhere).
*back to my learning books*
Thank U again..one more thing..the sound of words on u'r lessons is somehat hard to hear sometimes.
Undocumented workers SUE & WIN. Woodfin Suites has to pay $200,000 in back wages to undocumented workers. NEW Program We CAN HELP from Department of Labor to report exploiting EMployers. o snaps i like how you made the video. your taliking to your self, hehe thats awsome but the girl standing was wearing glasses. AWSOME VIDEO LESSONS PEGGY!
At the very least you've given something to laugh at to all those Chinese people your subscribers run into. I'd figure a language where the meaning of the word depends on the tone that you say it with (or so I've been told?) would be kinda hard to learn, but you make it seem so easy.
Thanks for the lesson! It was fun to watch and there was a lot to learn. I'm going to watch it again and write everything down so I can study it! Thanks for making Mandarin fun and available to me! :)
hey peggy, good job with the video editing, they're getting better and better. the chinese characters and pinyin aren't very clear though, the english is sharp, tho. thanks for doing these.
