  • ni hao Peggy! may I ask you why you didn't use pinyin ?

  • @ikenag4 I don't use pinyin because we use a different system in Taiwan called Zhuyin. There is pinyin in every lesson though. :)

  • @PeggyTeachesChinese Oh sorry, I didn't see you're Taiwanese...

  • Unfortunately for me most of the Chinese restaurants in my town are run by Mexicans and I don't get to practice Chinese very much there. Just Spanish. lol

  • @GnosisKreas How interesting! So Mexicans serve Chinese food in Chinese restaurants? How so?

  • Thanks for another great video Peggy! I noticed there are many different ways to say the same thing. 我平常都说: 橙汁 for orange juice and for 巧克力 (Chocolate)我平常都说: 朱古力。 但是我听过 : 巧克力. Keep up the good videos! 非常感谢。

  • @sonicxisforever When I was in China, I heard people saying 橙汁 instead of 柳橙汁 too! But never heard of 朱古力 so I looked up in the dictionary and it does mean 巧克力 too! Thanks for your comment! ;)

  • 多謝你!好有用!!今年夏天我去臺北學中文!!

  • Hi Peggy. Did you enjoy the meal? Your vids are very funny & equaly very helpful so... Bang ji le. Now, about that waitress :>). She's kinda Miaotiao, Piaopiao, Ger Xiao, Shuishe Yao, Shimao and, Ke'ai a. Do you know her? I think I must've seen her somewhere on Youtube before but I can't seem to remember where >:)... I'm so confused Anyway, do you know where that restaurant is? I must go to China & find that girl cuz she's so cute. Xie xie a :>)

  • Thank you for this extremely helpful video. You have helped me enormously in this lesson. Thanks again.

  • Man, I wish I was multilingual... Q_Q

  • Hehe you look great as a Kohikan waitress :P

  • So after one and a third of a semester of learning Chinese from a teacher who's home town is Beijing, I've come to realize that Chinese is spoken differently in Taiwan that it is in mainland China. (Or so I believe) My teacher taught us that when saying "guo3zhi1", that its proper to pronounce it with an "r" at the end of "zhi1." We haven't gone over how to order food from a restaurant yet though. Good video by the way! I would rate it a 5 star if that was still an option on Youtube. :)

  • @2and5ES Yep, if you watch my interview with David from Beijing video, you would see the difference in our pronunciation concerning the 'retroflex - r sound'. :) Thank you for your continuous support! Xie xie.

  • @PeggyTeachesChinese

Thanks for the confirmation on retroflex. Very helpful.

  • wo xihuan ni de xin toufa ;D

  • @wint3rL Xie xie. :)

  • sorry but i couldn't hear the sound to the video

  • I like your videos, but I do recommend you have the pīnyīn with the actual accent marks like "tāng" instead of "tang1". I think it is much easier to comprehend that way.

  • Your lessons are absolutely top of the bill..thank u. One day i will be able to talk Manderin. In my place (wageningen the netherlands, it's called Beijing on the rhine)) are hundreds of Chinese students, meet them everywhere).

    *back to my learning books*

Thank U again..one more thing..the sound of words on u'r lessons is somehat hard to hear sometimes.

    Nice hairstyle!

  • Man I love this girl

  • That waitress FINE!

  • 謝謝, 你的課都非常好可是我有一個問題. 到6.12, 你寫"需要什麼 xu1yao4 shen3me5", 我的拼音超爛但是我記得"什"是二聲所以應該是"需要什麼 xu1yao4 shen2me5". 對不對? 你的頭髮很漂亮!

  • @esdTube yes, it is "shen2" but in Taiwan, most people colloquially pronounce it as "shen3me5" :)
