I remember when the Twist was introduced on morning telelvision...a few years ago I tore both front and side ACL"s in left knee doing the dance! Now I just enjoy the music...thanks for sharing!

I really like this version and Chubby made it famous but Hank Ballard was the ORIGINAL singer of The Twist in the 50s. In fact, Chubby's version sounds very close to Hank's. Great times.

@dtecum we were at a wedding a couple of weeks ago and they were playing hip hop or whatever they play now. young kids were doing a little dancing but most were sitting on their hands. i told the dj if he wants people to move, play some 50's music. it was like someone threw jetfuel on the place. they had to kick us out at 1:30 am. killed the lights

As I remember "OLD GOLD" collections were sold on TV infomercials in the late 70's and early 80's. The music came in your choice of LP's or cassettes.

There were other variations in the market as I have a set of "62 Golden Hits", 4 LP's in total.

thank you VERY much for this number. i like it because it is the ORIGIINAL version, not some sub-standard re-recording!!Why do record companies CHEAT us out of money when they sell someone's "greatest hits"??? I hpe you getLOTS MORE HITS!!! Have you e ver heard of a record label called OLD GOLD? they used to specialize in the ORIGINAL versions.

i haven't a clue where OLD GOLD is now but they were worth supporting. maybe they will start up again. in the meantime, we have YOU!!!
