Tracie's voice is more current. But if you listen to Fredi's mechanic's in her voice and tried to copy it, you'd realize that she's just as an amazing singer too. The fact that she can easily go from high to low in seconds is mind blowing. Her depth is incredible and she was slaying it (in a good way) in this video. I love tracie too, but her voice just seems to "everyday great singer" to me. I mean, come on 3:06. That's (excuse me for my language) FUCKING GREAT.

I prefer Tracie's Joanne, and so far, I haven't found anyone who does Mimi justice, because even Rosario Dawson, who sings beautifully, sings TOO beautifully to be a drug addicted stripper. The others were too rough. Maybe it's because I love Mimi so much lol

@Wickedlymiserables Agreed. People are even worse with Idina though. I love her, I really do, but Fanzels can get so aggressive when you suggest someone is better. In rent, I understand that she was AMAZING, but Wicked was different. Many actresses have surpassed Idina in wicked simply because her voice couldnt handle the role or she couldnt hit the notes all the time, yet Fanzels go straight back to "OH SHE WAS THE ORIGINAL.

The women/men who play these roles are all talented. Nuff said. :D

To all those that say Tracie Thoms is the best joanne, although i do admit she is amazing the original role of Joanne was not spefically meant to cast to a Black women it just so happens that Fredi Walker <3 was the best for the part which in turn made the role more turned towards black women so although again i do agree that Tracie Thoms is good (but in my opinion Fredi is better) please everyone give respect to the Original Joanne that is Fredi Walker as it's because of her Tracie was cast :)

It's funny. All the actors who were also in the film have been so polished and tweaked. Daphne and Fredi still have that raw edge to them.

But I never really liked her as Elphaba, I saw her in Wicked a while back with LBB and her stage presence was amazing but she didn't sing as well as i thought
