  • I used to go to the beach in Wilmette. In the winters, late at night, early 1970's, my friends and I used to toboggan down these dunes almost over the huge ice cliff that was created by weeks and weeks of crashing, freezing waves. We did not realize how damaging it was to the dunes nor how dangerous it was. We were dangerously close to the water but at 15 years old, I'd not yet heard of hypothermia. Just one of the priveleges of growing up in Wilmette.

  • This beach will soon have more features including a new planned service building. I love how those nice private beaches have vast dunes, that's why they have deeper beach than other towns. The dunes have grown huge. In 1999 the beach was much smaller than it is now, and it's still expanding.

  • They need to add permanent bathrooms, but the beach is amazing. By the way, please do not walk on the dunes since they are nature, and they help preserve the beach by protecting it from nature.

  • @secretname1000able I mean dunes protect the beach from erosion.

  • Love the homes and dunes there.
