DICE announced that you can NOT bring down any buildings in the game in multiplayer. And I can name one game that has better destruction right now: Red Faction Guerilla and that game was out in 2009.

im very excited to hear that PR is working on a2, i seen there work on BF2 in which was stolen before i even knew what mods were. but the work they have done on other games is completely OUTSTANDING and BRILLIANT, for them to come do some work for the A2 community, they have much respect and a big welcome from my family which we all play arma 2.
As a game reviewer told me privately, this video is "underwhelming".
Don't get me wrong, I am a long time fan of PR. I just think this video doesn't present the upcoming ArmA2 mod well. The intro is cliche, the gameplay appears generic and the overall vibe is quite stale.
The original trailer was a lot more interesting and had it's own unique style, although the content is now a year out of date.

@dpsdan4 LOL? Medium!?!?..I have a e8400 duo core 3.0 hd 4850 graphics and 4gb ram and play high...He got a QUAD CORE....6GB ram and a higer graphic card..he can play high/max.
@mentality111 why would you need to know? anyway you will be able to get a nice framerate on very high settings depending on how large your moniter is, display resolution isnt a problem but 3D resolution really drops the framerate like a rock.
The Arma 2 community have created 2 new expansions, that you dont need, they just wrap up the campaign. the newest Arma 2 OA updates have all the BAF gear, and Additional Mercenary gear from both NOT needed expansions

My main concern for ARMA 2: PR is the lag. I've NEVER been in a lag free PVP server. Especially not with 64 players. I don't think this can be solved with programming. This is hardcoded netcode.
No no no no no. What I mean is, like in here youre aiming down the sights like bf2, where you aim and the sight takes up the entire screen. Whereas in arma when you aim down the sight you still see the rest of the world..

Not to mention the game mode also plays an important role in how well it runs, the DEV team are making sure that it runs smoothly in multiplayer so if you plan on playing it don't worry.
I'm not talking about system lag or bad fps. Im talking strictly about connection lag. I have a 100/100 broadband connection and can run the game on max settings yet 90% of the games i play people warp around.
The devs them selves confirmed this problem and admited that they won't be able to fix it.
@neverhoodyn well the lag in arma 2 is not that bad depends more on gamemode and server specs (see the huge landscape in the game) and thus it all depens on the server , but if you can run it nicely on your pc , then there's no problem , i have been in 40+ guys servers and they runned pretty nice

If you just run it in low to medium settings, I'd say that a dual core would probably suffice.

@mentality111 why would you need to know? anyway you will be able to get a nice framerate on very high settings depending on how large your moniter is, display resolution isnt a problem but 3D resolution really drops the framerate like a rock.

The Arma 2 community have created 2 new expansions, that you dont need, they just wrap up the campaign. the newest Arma 2 OA updates have all the BAF gear, and Additional Mercenary gear from both NOT needed expansions

My main concern for ARMA 2: PR is the lag. I've NEVER been in a lag free PVP server. Especially not with 64 players. I don't think this can be solved with programming. This is hardcoded netcode.

No no no no no. What I mean is, like in here youre aiming down the sights like bf2, where you aim and the sight takes up the entire screen. Whereas in arma when you aim down the sight you still see the rest of the world..

@neverhoodyn Not at all, the lag would depend on a persons own computer and the type of server that is currently running the game.
Not to mention the game mode also plays an important role in how well it runs, the DEV team are making sure that it runs smoothly in multiplayer so if you plan on playing it don't worry.

I'm not talking about system lag or bad fps. Im talking strictly about connection lag. I have a 100/100 broadband connection and can run the game on max settings yet 90% of the games i play people warp around.
The devs them selves confirmed this problem and admited that they won't be able to fix it.

@neverhoodyn well the lag in arma 2 is not that bad depends more on gamemode and server specs (see the huge landscape in the game) and thus it all depens on the server , but if you can run it nicely on your pc , then there's no problem , i have been in 40+ guys servers and they runned pretty nice
