Cynic is one of the best kept secrets! An amazingly original and innovative band. Paul Masvidal's songs are electrifying......manifested melodic and rhythmic perfection!!!
@angelizer999 I heard at one time they might be doing a South American tour(?)...i think that would be great for them...i'm sure they have a lot of fans there
couldnt agree more, masvidals tone and feel is a bit more outside, more suiting of the genre. I even love his solos on the Human album. Saying that, i think Gobels solo on im but a wave to is amazing - really amazing feel with the whammy.
Best riff is the last one that the song fades out with, man sends shivers down my spine, always reminds me of left hand path because of it's melodic catchiness. So good!!!
pogokoala, its the same vocal dude........but u just dont know ur sh*t...so shut the f**k up while these guys continue to write tech death metal history
the two Vocal puts it part of this song like a really good theme but with that one vocal now, the one that makes the wussy soft robot vocal sucks, we need the guy who does the puking vocal! he puts it in nice theme along with the bad ass solo part!
the vocalist using the keyboard does not put in the solo part, the guitarist is playing it through a guitar synth. paul's vocals don't suck, they make up a large portion in the creativity that cynic put into their music.
the guy who says how could i has a bad ass vocal man fuck lamb of god they fuckin suck anyways! but this one when they had this singer it really rip all asses need him again find another singer that can sound like him.
they did have him again, but he did not want to do it because it would cost too much money for him to proceed with the reunion tour, so they have his vocals on a playback track triggered via midi.
are you sure they didn't put him back on reunion because the last thing i heard was that he was dead, are we talking about the same person here? i'm talking about chuck. he put a good fell into it. to me the reunion part was sort of boring. needed Sean malone and Chuck to make it a complete cynic sorry i'm just probably ignorite over this but i really like it that line up.
oh, you got mixed up with the Human line-up. The (harsh/brutal) vocalist for Cynic was Tony Teegarden, Chuck Schuldiner was in the band Death, and in 1990-1992, Paul Masvidal and Sean Reinert from Cynic went to help out Chuck on one of his albums, and for the tour as well. So Chuck was never a part of Cynic, but 2 Cynic members were part of Death.
incredible, one of the best bands ever, the whole band, especially the rhythm section of sean and sean really ties all the melodies together, awesome, plus come on pauls solo is like flawless

What?
dude, Paul Masvidals' use of the Vocoder on his
vocals is what makes cynic who they are.
Taking that out would be the equivalent of Sean Reinert (the drummer) quitting.
It just wouldn't be the same.
