For all who asked if you can tell if it's a boy or girl... When a crab comes out of his/her shell you will see there abdomen and if it's smooth it's a male, if it's rough or bumpy it's a female. This is were females store there eggs, though hermit crabs don't reproduce in the wild because they need a special kind of salt water. Although there are certain places were they breed crabs in captivity. Also another way is to see if the crab will come far enough put of his/her shell to let you see it'

I've never once seen any of mine change shells before though! I go to sleep and they are in one shell but when I wake up they are in another one! It's cute :) All animals are cute and beautiful in their own way. I personally think Hermie's are cute with or without a shell. So saying they are disgusting or not beautiful without a shell, think about it this way, you probably aren't beautiful without clothes on either if you stay on youtube and rant all day!
