I love my PSP a hell of a lot more then my DS. You guys that like your DS more go on your opinion is yours. I have reasons for me liking PSP more then my DS. Reason 1: Homebrew. Homerbrew allows emulation on a PSP. PSP not only emulates Nintendo Gameboy Advance roms (games) that is available for free but it emulates them BETTER (that's right i said BETTER) then DS or DS lite will EVER emulate the games that you actually have to PAY for. DS does have homebrew available but it sucks
@RENZDOGG Reason 2: I have all sorts of PS1 games on my PSP that plays just like a PS1 would on a PS1 console and TV. Some of the various games that I have that I even got for FREE are Final Fantasy VII (only the top role playing game of all time based on statistics.) Final Fantasy VIII, Diablo, and Ehrgeiz.
Reason 3. I have a homebrew app that enables me to play all PSP games I want for free and own them just as if they were payed for.
@RENZDOGG I will say I am a big fan of both Sony and Nintendo but Sony is far greater in my book. Sony won Rounds 1 and 2 while Round 3 went to Nintendo but in my book sony won all 3 Rounds.
Absolutely right. I'm 35 years old and I enjoy to play on the DS much more. The PSP has better graphics, but when it comes to games, the DS is clearly the winner for me. Especially all the great RPG's on DS are the reason, I think. Actually I'm lost in "The Dark Spire", a great Dungeon Crawler-RPG.
@Trondyard Haven't played that one, I'll give it a try if I see it. I will say the PSP has some good stuff as well but they just don't seem to get the same recognition, even amongst PSP fans.
"The Dark Spire" is a cool game for every fan of the old 80's Dungeon-Crawl-RPG's like "Bard's Tale", "Wizardry" and "Might & Magic". Watch the review of the "Classic Game Room" here on youtube, so you can see it and maybe find out if it would fit to your likings.

I have both and I barley touch my psp just because apart from metal gear solid and god of war and medal of honor the games suck I mean sure it has better graphics but not better gameplay. If you buy Acekard 2i for DS with 32GB micro SD card you can put as much as 200 Games just for 20GB, you still have plenty of space for movies, mp3 and ebooks with 16 GB!! psp has GOD OF WAR and final fantasy 7,8, and 9 on the psp store. they and psp you can put pictures on it and watch movies, listen to songs, and surf the enternet like your phone. not to menchen skype. plus it has a hellof alot better graphics but that doesnt really matter cause it can play ps1 games, and you can hack it to play all kinds of shit. DS sucks ass it cant do shit

Nearing the end of these two consoles lifetimes, I think the PSP wins, the DS had a lot of good games, but they dropped the ball after the first few years, as where the PSP has had a constant stream of quality games, downloadable games have also been much better, wiiware titles are all for the most part, terrible. PSone classics being $6-10 is probably the best decision Sony's made in years.
And I prefer the PSPGo over any of the other PSP, just because it's way more portable.

@danexgen what are you talking about? DS has lots of RPGs, action-adeventures, racers, fighters, and even shooters. DS doesnt have more strategies than others. PSP is just full of games that are too much like home console games. Id rather play its games on a home console on a 42 inch TV. DS has a unique system of games that cant be done on a home console, via touch screen and many other features.
Do yourselves a favor, if you want to play DS games, just get a freakin DS. Do this, and you'll be garunteed no extreme debt or jail time. Trust me, you might get paid a visit from a cop, who'll arrest you for modding. It's not that much money, a basic DS Lite is $120, that's not alot compared to past consoles. You know how much the Atari was? $199. Count in inflation, that's $650 in today's economy.
All this talk about modding the PSP to play DS and gba games. Guess what guys? You're taking a big risk. Anyone who has been caught molding has been severely punished for it. Some people are even doing jail time for modding, and nobody is more bias against modding than Sony. They're sueing a bunch of PS3 modders right now for every penny they have, and starting a strict mod watch on PSN. So if you get caught, good luck to you.

Apple tried to sue companies that made jailbreaks and they lost in court because you can't regulate what people do with their electronics short of making thermonuclear weaponry out of them. DS is more popular and easily the most OVERRATED handheld ever. PSP might be overpriced to some, but if you have been following it closely the last 18 months with so many great games or even since the early homebrew days, it is easily the most unappreciated handheld ever. DS is like the Justin Bieber or Lil Wayne of gaming. Which is ironic since that is the crowd Nintendo caters to and all the dipshit fans keep it more popular. Less versatile than PSP, outdated, and same old franchises.
Do NOT let the latest media bashing against Sony make you believe in everything you read. Sony is like the LeBron James where they were once the media darlings who are now hated on. Do NOT let "overall sales" dictate the games you want to play. Dreamcast only sold 11M. PSP is a GREAT handheld w/ 60M sold. Haters are gonna hate and sheep are gonna follow. Give it another chance. So versatile and plenty of great games coming out this year. The PSP2 improves on it.
ds does have a bigger library, but i find that the games get old very quick for me and have very little replay value. on my psp though i can play the storyline of ratchet and clank or socom a few times and its still interesting. i also suck at multitasking and the 2 screens on the ds just piss me off.

And don't ask me if I tried Dissidia or God of War or Metal Gear Solid, cause I did. They all sucked. A console is only as good as the games that are made for it, and the DS has the better games. Not to meantion the DS has gone down in history as the most successful console of all time, and that counts home consoles. My personal favorite console is N64, but I'm still glad to see the DS do so well. 3DS will kick ass.

Touch screen technology in the DS is very simple and can be emulated without a touch screen. I played all the hyped PSP games, I didn't like any of them with the exception of Birth by Sleep, which I gave a 7 out of 10 on Metacritic, that's not enough for me to keep it.

@Nosidda89 Other than those two things, all Sony is doing is buffing up the graffix and adding an extra analog stick. Woopdy doo, Dual analog is mainly for shooters anyway, Nobody plays shooters on a handheld. You know good and well that you'll be playing them on a home console, not a handheld. 3DS is getting an analog stick too, it's not dual analog, but ya know what, that's fine with me. I play my shooters on my 360 and my Wii, not my DS. Trust me, PSP2 aint got crap on 3DS.
PSP fails hard!! It fails almost as much as the PS3, and this is coming from a guy who owns a PSP. I only got it cause I heard Kingdom Hearts was continuing on it, but all it got was Birth By Sleep, that's all it's getting. I tried many other games on it, all of which sucked. I'm about ready to sell my PSP. DS is WAY better. Has a bunch of awesome games like Mario, Star Fox, Zelda, and Golden Sun. Can't wait for 3DS.
@triplecounter123 Yeah but like you said DS is good for strategy, not much more. The PSP is practically like a PS1.8 it can play action, adventure, fighting, racing, etc, etc. It can play just about any game including strategy (although the strategy are not as good as the DS's). DS's are mainly just for mini-games, platformers, and strategy so in my opinion PSP is better.

Nearing the end of these two consoles lifetimes, I think the PSP wins, the DS had a lot of good games, but they dropped the ball after the first few years, as where the PSP has had a constant stream of quality games, downloadable games have also been much better, wiiware titles are all for the most part, terrible. PSone classics being $6-10 is probably the best decision Sony's made in years.
And I prefer the PSPGo over any of the other PSP, just because it's way more portable.

PSP is just full of games that are too much like home console games. Id rather play its games on a home console on a 42 inch TV. And don't ask me if I tried Dissidia or God of War or Metal Gear Solid, cause I did. They all sucked. A console is only as good as the games that are made for it, and the DS has the better games. Not to meantion the DS has gone down in history as the most successful console of all time, and that counts home consoles. My personal favorite console is N64, but I'm still glad to see the DS do so well. 3DS will kick ass.

Touch screen technology in the DS is very simple and can be emulated without a touch screen. The 3DS is rubbish; adding 1 new feature, 3D technology (which different angles will skew the effect, it may cause damage to eyes, etc.).

I played all the hyped PSP games, I didn't like any of them with the exception of Birth by Sleep, which I gave a 7 out of 10 on Metacritic, that's not enough for me to keep it.

Woopdy doo, Dual analog is mainly for shooters anyway, Nobody plays shooters on a handheld. You know good and well that you'll be playing them on a home console, not a handheld. 3DS is getting an analog stick too, it's not dual analog, but ya know what, that's fine with me. I only got it cause I heard Kingdom Hearts was continuing on it, but all it got was Birth By Sleep, that's all it's getting. I tried many other games on it, all of which sucked. The PSP is practically like a PS1.8 it can play action, adventure, fighting, racing, etc, etc. It can play just about any game including strategy (although the strategy are not as good as the DS's). DS's are mainly just for mini-games, platformers, and strategy so in my opinion PSP is better.

mariokart, metroid prime hunters, diddy kong racing, a bunch of kirby games, professor layton and the curious village. i own those game. i own 16 different games. :D theres hundreds more. :D
