This is entirely true. It happened to my friend's iPod this morning with disturbingly similar damage to the iPod itself. He was not in the house at the time, scary enough.

I wonder why a consumer advocate would not bother to warn consumers that electronic devices can be effected by the climate and environment in which they are used. For example, if you put a toaster in water and put your hand in that water you will get shocked. I don't blame Apple for not commenting on this. How could they explain what took place to a device if they were unable to examine it?

Well I guess Microsoft and Apple are both shit whatever, but what can you do they are the only choices. Even the 360 overheats all the time and clearly this happened to more than one person, even my iPod video gets very hot when I charge it.
