The AUTO version is limited to around 133 using fuel-cut. The MANUAL version takes you to 150 mph. All recent TL models with Automatic have new limiter on them which tops out at around 133. The older models '04~'06 AUTO and Manual version go above 150. Got that??

yup... sad isn't it? if you want faster top speed get the ~'06 TL. Get the manual version cause it's even faster than the '07~'08 Type-S Auto in acceleration. So far '04~'06 TL 6MT has been reported top speed of 152 mph. '04~'06 TL 5AT got max of 155+ mph but it takes forever to reach those speeds. 6MT will get you there in no time. This is why 6MT is so important.. it's so fast as mutherfu@k... lol

This car as a manual is to the '00s as the Integra GS-Rs were to the '90s. Granted it's a little heavier and you can feel it, but these cars begged to be pulled to the redline in the first 3 gears. They are so smooth and powerful, especially above ~5000.

Actually you are wrong about its performance. The TL's Performance is close to the one of an S4 and M3 or 335I. The Top of the line price for a TL Type S is under 40K while A4s is over 45k and 3 series is past 50k. Go Find out for yourself

Why is FWD such a big negative? I've driven some powerful RWD vehicles before and they tend to scare you shitless when you get into it too much in a corner (or even a straight) and end up sideways or worse, off the road. Also, having better traction in adverse weather I have always found has been a plus as well. Both types of cars seem to have the same effect of putting me back in the seat the same way, which I like.

The TL-S in my opinion is a much better buy and a better sports sedan than the IS3. The only thing the TL gives up is speed, other than that, it sticks better, brakes shorter, slaloms as fast, all while being FWD. And if thats not enough to embarass the little toyota, it even gets around W/S faster than it and the g35. Ouch.

that a tough decision. here is what i know about both cars. my car gets 20mpg in the city and 30 on highway. my sister's boyfriend has an 2004 g35 coupe that does 13 in the city and barely 21 on a highway (this is actually the only reason he is selling it now) powerwise they are the same pretty much. I would say that infiniti has more options than acura but then again you should research which ones are more useful to you. and one big advantage that g35 has over tl is that its rear wheel drive
