You know what was awesome about being a child of the '80s and early '90s? We were exposed to cartoons from the '20s, '30s, '40s, '50s, '60s and '70s. The mainstream media gave us so much variety. The variety ended with my generation. Television seems to be all about new cartoons these days. We owe it to our children to expose them to what we experienced.

There was a lot more feeling in these shows than the ones nowadays. I could always enjoy watching them because the animators, voice actors, musicians, and everybody else working behind the scenes seemed to be able to give these shows something that today's shows lack. I'm not sure what it is, but whatever it is, I hope it comes back.

I get that people think looney tunes is awesome and classic... and I agree 100% that WB, Hanna Barbera etc made some of the best cartoons of all time!! But I still love some modern cartoons, I mean within all the crap there are a few hidden gems! I personally love Spongebob and Dexter's Lab, and has anyone seen The Misadventures of Flapjack?! Well, there are some OK modern cartoons. Ren & Stimpy, Fairly Odd Parents, Cow & Chicken, Dexter's Lab. But, indeed, most of them suck. The problem is the lack of comedy and pacing. For example the new Duck Dodgers cartoon is just boring. What also makes a difference is the use of limited animation nowadays. Full animation just looks better.
