Sure it's nice and fancy, but you got to be seriously crazy to pay 400k for that. I mean, do you buy a new house, car, and year's salary, or do you get a watch?
The inside is just strikingly beautiful, and that spinning "bi-axial tourbillon" is just sexy. Speaking of which, what is so special about it other than the fact that it looks awesome?
Its true that tourbillons are expensive due to the high number of parts as well as the time invested in polishing, decorating, and engraving said parts. With that said, affording such a watch is not realistic for me.
However I do manage to enjoy my Stuhrling Imperial tourbillon timepiece.
It is a Chinese movement cased in stainless steel with sapphire crystals and alligator strap.
Best of all...i only paid a little under $700 bucks.
you know, sometimes I wonder (and positively come to a conclusion) if one day chinese will make multi-axis or multi-tourbillon stuff. but they'd better work on general designs and concepts as well. sometimes the labels and casing etc don't appeal as much. but we'll surely see more competition and more affordable mechanical art-machines.
yeah its probaly the first Tourbillon thats actually worth the money ! most Tourbillons are about $250,000 and it is'nt as fancy as this one !!!!!!!! this is awesome !
False. Most tourbillons are NOT 250K. Where did you get that? Just curious. Pulling that number out of your ass does not count. Most fine tourbillon watches cost anywhere from $90K on up. For example, JLC has a master tourbillon for around $46K. Keep in kind there is no definitive price for a tourbillon timepiece. This bi-axial HD3 is a whole different ballgame.
lol but where did you pull out $90k from your ass ? lol. and no the Jaeger LeCoultre Master is one of the cheaper Tourbillons and it is'nt $46k their $105k. I know that because I seen the price at the jeweller store and tried one on. I think maybe it depends what currency you use aswell and the exchange rate.
you can get perfectly good ebauche movements with tourbillons for less than $500 and cased up looking really nice for not much more than that. if you are able to get beyond the snobbery of the name on the dial the are the equal of most others.
oh ye? who are the ebauche providers? have you checked them out? if they are ebauche, it means they are not yet put together. not yet polished and no work done on them. What you are peddling is chinese work, which i dont disrespect, they do a decent job considering that they have no real experience in watchmaking.
However, with the swiss tourbillons, you are paying for the time spent on making it pretty, making that artisanal touch that the chinese have not(too time consuming).
Point 1: In a world where little children are starving to death, the waste of human resources on a $400,000 watch is mind boggling.
Point 2: But it's so incredibly cool!
I don't know...
