Saw JRNY with Augeri and they were fantastic , really disappointed a couple of years later when i saw them with Jeff Scott Soto, but Augeri and the band came out in Manchester and chatted before sound check to all the fans , still one of my best gigs.. I am now a bit lost with Arnel and really i just want Perry back and i can go to my grave happy.....

SteveAugeriRocks - GROW UP. You wouldn't appreciate a good singing voice if it bit you on the butt. Where were Journey before Steve Perry - NOWHERE. Are they touring now - NO. I have the actual DVD of "Behind the Music" and some of the comments on this version misrepresent the true picture. Neal's comment about "a couple of guys who want to work" is totally unfair as Steve was struggling with a painful hip problem and needed surgery but the selfish moneygrabbers couldn't wait for him. As for Deen saying "Augeri was Steve Perry with a perm". I think years of drumming has affected his hearing. No-one will ever replace Steve's VOICE and stage presence.
People should read the GQ interview of Steve Perry and Neal Schon.Steve says he was the one who phoned Jonathan Cain about a reunion in 95.It was not his fault he needed hip surgery or a group decision when and if he should have surgery so the band could tour.Jonathan calls Journey Neal's band.I think Neal has always thought of it as that. They forget If Steve had not become lead singer there most probably would be no Journey anymore because without Steve the band was not getting radio play.
If you watch the actual Behind The Music- Journey TV show fully you will see this video is put together with certain clips from it and this video makes Steve Perry out to be 'The Bad Guy' and everyone in the band etc loved him and the tension in the band was all Steve Perry's fault. He appeared and spoke many times in the actual show but most of this has been left out of this video except where Steve Perry says about 'fracturing the stone' and not feeling like a member of the band.

SteveAugeriRocks - GROW UP. You wouldn't appreciate a good singing voice if it bit you on the butt. Where were Journey before Steve Perry - NOWHERE. Are they touring now - NO. Is there lots of news etc., on their website - NO. How do CD sales compare - THEY DON'T. The facts speak for themselves. They should resign gracefully before they embarrass themselves any further.

I have the actual DVD of "Behind the Music" and some of the comments on this version misrepresent the true picture. Neal's comment about "a couple of guys who want to work" is totally unfair as Steve was struggling with a painful hip problem and needed surgery but the selfish moneygrabbers couldn't wait for him. As for Deen saying "Augeri was Steve Perry with a perm". I think years of drumming has affected his hearing. No-one will ever replace Steve's VOICE and stage presence.

People should read the GQ interview of Steve Perry and Neal Schon.Steve says he was the one who phoned Jonathan Cain about a reunion in 95.It was not his fault he needed hip surgery or a group decision when and if he should have surgery so the band could tour.Jonathan calls Journey Neal's band.I think Neal has always thought of it as that. They forget If Steve had not become lead singer there most probably would be no Journey anymore because without Steve the band was not getting radio play.

If you watch the actual Behind The Music- Journey TV show fully you will see this video is put together with certain clips from it and this video makes Steve Perry out to be 'The Bad Guy' and everyone in the band etc loved him and the tension in the band was all Steve Perry's fault. He appeared and spoke many times in the actual show but most of this has been left out of this video except where Steve Perry says about 'fracturing the stone' and not feeling like a member of the band.

The BTW episode was really slanted against Perry ... Just like (but not quite as bad as) their Styx episode was slanted against that singer; made Dennis Deyoung out to be just awful ... Notice how they showed everybody rip Perry for his remark, but never went back to him, to see what he thought of what they said or give him a chance to elaborate - They did the Styx episode the SAME way ... assholes. Btw Jon Cain needs to pull himself together .. seeing a grown man cry on TV is really unpleasant

Perry needs to get back in the band.. So does Steve Smith. Any other version of Journey is a half cover band as far as I'm concerned. And I'm not giving Perry a pass on the dumb mistakes he made in the 80's like firing Smith and Valory or later on getting them to fire their long time manager H.H.. Schon and Cain both share the dumb and dumber award for not waiting. 13 months may have seemed a long time but none compared to 13 plus years lol! I think they could bury all the bs and get together

It still kills me they got rid of Herbie Herbert in favor of the biggest criminal in rock history, Irving ASScough. Herbie put that band on the map by constantly pushing. He stuck by them through the highs and the lows, the minute Asscough knew Steve Perry was out he went "POOF!" and disappeared, the fagget likely wouldn`t even take there calls there after. Waited 20 years to see van halen with DLR. Sound was shit, ruined the show. ASScough you owe me $280 you unwiped bunghole.

This is an EXTREMELY edited version of the Behind the Music program on Journey on VH1....the original 90 min. show had EVERYONE'S take on what went down for all those years....and I'm sure even that program didn't have everything that everyone said.....

He hits the notes ~ on the scale ~ but doesn't hit them with the same soul Perry does. If Steve came back they'd have to tune down a step for everything, on tour .. his voice is deeper now ... But that would be fine .. Jon Bon Jovi tunes down, to one degree or other and nobody seems to mind

Arnel does not try to sing like SP - that is his voice and following only songs that were sang before he was born coz these are Journey classics. He revived Journey & brought the magic back.

Ok it doesn't matter who is better or not. The fact is that a lot of people enjoyed this band's music. The point in Steve leaving was because of personal life issues. Ok we all have personal life issues and I'm sure its tougher when your out on the road and can't see your family for weeks or months. Now the reason Journey picked those people to sing is because Steve wasn't coming back and they wanted to keep the music going. That's the whole idea. Keep the music going.

All Journey videos are WONDERFUL! The messages bring tears to my eyes and my soull!!!! What beautiful, lasting music was created by these talented and innovative musicians! The Best are Perry, Schon, Cain, Smith, and Valory- PERFECTION!
AP is great, but the soulful depth is missing....the singers are drained, Perry is to be commended for staying as long as he did- YES, they should have supported their brother...but that's past. We wait to hear The Voice; and listen to bask in their genius.

well, some say that he used that as an excuse. That he never wanted to tour.....another story is that by that time, his voice had changed to much. He couldn't hit the high notes anymore....I mean, waiting 2 years for a hip-surgery.....fishy?!

In the nineties the hip replacement wasnt as refined and it was and still is a scary thing. The recovery is long and takes diligence. When you think about it, wouldnt you search until you found the best doctor. One you found confidence in?
