No, it is by 7 seconds, the song was written by Kevin Seconds in 1995. Kevin produced some of Jonah Montranga's albums (his solo albums of the time were under the band title "OneLineDrawing"). They are friends, and if you got to a Jonah Montranga concert today, he'll say this song is by Kevin Seconds. Great song, and this version on the movie is by far my favorite recording of it.

I hated this scene... It is so painful... The way Jonah has to watch them be so good together and make you realize that Dakota is happy with her boyfriend... its cutesy yes... but the underlying story being told in the scene just eats away at you..
