  • I went through Army basic training and advanced individual training with Northern in 1968. Rode the train home to Connecticut with him for Christmas leave. He was National Guard and his training was over so he stayed in New York. I wentt on for more training, spent a year in Vietnam and was ssurprised to see him playing David when I returned home. His death was very sad. He was a great talent.

  • Wisdom.

  • Oh yeah! This is my theme song! (Even though i'm unbearably ugly)

  • @Gourdface101 Aw, don't be so hard on yourself!! I bet you're beautiful!

  • On the Sesame Street 2 Album, it was song by a "Baby Seal" that had an unusual voice

  • I misss this one too.

  • Why did the lord have to take Northern Calloway away from us?

  • @Jonsamwein He was something special, sure.

  • wow that's been my lifetime favorite, plus I wouldn't stop crying when I watched Sesame Street @ 3 years old 20 years ago during the first appearance of Mr. Hanford because I missed David very much during that past. It ain't easy being a true SS Fan at the age of 21 goin on 22 eh?

  • My brother had a Sesame Street record with this song on it, only I think that it was sung by Will Lee (aka "Mr. Looper")

  • The is the truth never feel less than anyone else.

  • spy4863 and spagnuolo1364

  • It is different fish. They used this same song as the soundtrack under several different animal films.

  • Hmmm. I remember this song, but I swear it's different fish.

  • yea there was a older version with a not so cute fish and it wasn't sung by Northern Calloway.

  • Oh man! I almost forgot about this one...how could I forget the spurters on all his 'pr's

  • I think this is a newer application to a classic SStreet song

  • I remember this song, but this video isn't the version that I remember. The one I remember took place completely underwater.

  • I know, and the fish were definitely more bizarre looking.

  • What can be more bizarre than a lion fish?

It's a freaky, yet beautiful, creature.

  • So cute :)

  • It's Northern Calloway"David", - at 17 you can even begin to hear his thick, sculptured lips rolling the p in pretty. Bob's lips were to thin to ever roll a p.

  • Dead ringer for David!

  • WOW. I remember this this used to have me in fits of giggles. I still love it. Is Bob singing this because it sounds like Bobs voice?

  • I have been waiting so long for someone to say they had this- you have made this a great day!

  • Nice song--sweet but kinda cheeky.

This was still airing in the 90s, when Calloway was dead (and "David" had "moved to the farm"...) So while earlier it might have been thought of as "David" singing, when he was gone, and forgotten by newer kids, it simply became some voice. David? Who's David?

    Time marches onward.....

  • That so true! In my mind it was always David.

  • One of my favorites! I always suspected it was "David" singing. Funny the things I remember, others remember too!

  • I totally remember this one! And every time he said "pr" I would crack up...I mean I was 8 years old, but even nowm as a woman in her 30s, it still makes me giggle!

  • What an awesome voice he had. Cool song too!

  • eeww i hated thos sappy songs as a kid!

  • Don't know if I like it myself and what's interesting is this was not the original film that went with the song.

Of course I had to see it because I think it would be nice if Gabby was singing it. After all she is pretty. Instead of the film, they could have her dancing around the SS set and singing this song, even do a verse in spanish.

  • Gabby grew up to be quite the hottie.

  • Yes she did I love Gabby. She is Maria's and Louis daughter I bet they was proud of that? I wish Gabby could sing to this song on the SS set that would be ace and after all Gabby is pretty. Always loving you Gabby.

  • I never realized, as a kid, that it was Northern Calloway either! My memory had it as being sung by Joe Raposo.

  • Is sung by David (Northern Calloway) but is this composed by Joe Raposo?

  • yes it is ????-1990

  • I saw this before but did not know it was preformed by Northern Calloway!

  • i love this song. :D

  • Thanks for posting this one - haven't seen it in 20+ years, but it's been in my head all that time.
