  • john's part :D @privettricker ???

  • @viceguitaar Yes, this is John's part.

  • @privettricker yeah!! congratulations!! :D

  • @privettricker thanks!! :D

  • Can you do a lesson on this please?

  • Really nice job on this song!

  • Does anyone know what the chord at 0:52 is?

  • @TheVasicist

    Gminor

  • @cenjim I meant the chord right after G minor. As far as I can tell, it goes G minor, something, C7. Whats that chord in between?

  • @TheVasicist D+ (Augmented), is that the one? at 0:53

  • @cenjim: looks like the change is Gm, D+, G7, C7, G#+, and back to the F.

  • @cenjim Thanks!

  • @TheVasicist that chord is a minor(major7)

you can fret it like a G7 but instead of putting your middle finger on the g string move it up to the d string on the same fret

  • @TheVasicist and the chords go Gm, Gminor(major7), G7, C7, G#+ (augmented)

  • Wow!

  • can you please please please do "Do you want to know a secret"?

  • sawr (:

  • Im kinda impressed that you can count the chord changes and play that so well at the same time.

  • wow one of your better ones a great project for me for the weekend you memorized n 30 Minutes ? your insane :)

  • It sucks being 13. I get made fun of everyday because I'm into Zeppelin, the Stones, Beatles, Cream, the Clash, you name it. It just sucks.

  • @Evan42881 same here but it's whatever.

  • @TheTonesterr Well, the kids in my school are extrememly cruel about it.

  • @Evan42881 wow sorry to hear about it man.

  • @Evan42881 Who makes fun of you at school for listening to that stuff? Most teenagers go through a classic rock phase. In fact, there were more people listening to those bands when I was 13 than now that I'm older. If anything, people look at me more weirdly the older I get, and that I'm still obsessed with music from the 60's.

  • @TheVasicist Nope, it's rap and bubblegum pop.

  • What a gift you have! I'm certain a lot of hard work went into getting as good as you are - and it's really quite a blessing to many people's ears! Happy Thanksgiving!

  • meke the lead version please

  • how long does it take you to get a complicated song like that down or are you recording songs you've been playing for a long time?

  • @rosalita714 Most of the songs I record, I've never played before, like this one. So it took about a half-hour to memorize the changes. The chords themselves came fairly quickly (mostly because I just made them up and hoped for the best!), but memorizing the structure of the song is usually the more time-consuming part.

  • @privettricker

PT I requested for you to do this song. If I retire and devote 24 hours a day 7 days a week I might have it down in about a year and a half. You are awesome. Thanks

  • @privettricker It only took you 1/2 hr to learn this??You've gotta be kidding me-this isn't an easy song...in fact,it's probably the hardest Beatles song there is !!

  • @4runner39 Nah. Revolution No. 9 is harder.

  • @privettricker the guitar playing in revolution #9 is hard,yeahhh...touche

  • Man,that was more like George Benson than The Beatles. I know they didn't write this but what a great song and you performed it perfectly. I can't imagine anyone hating The Beatles?!!! The Stones also. What is wrong with these people?

  • @andy65guitar Yeah, I've heard of people who can take-or-leave the Beatles, but I'd never heard anyone say they hate them before. Maybe that's just a generational thing.

  • Try playing an F#7#9 at the end of the solo (before you resolve to F). You play it like a barre F#7 on the 2nd fret only barre the B and E string at the 5th fret with your pinky.

  • I hate the beatles with passion... but you you play it it's kind of cool...

  • @F3FisGoodforYou You hate The Beatles?! D:

  • Don't even try Mister Banker. That song blows!

  • holy shit

  • Hey PT, A question about your technique for playing barre chords.

Did you learn the thumb over the top method first, or did you pick that up later? I find it very difficult personally, but I can see the advantages to it if mastered (ie, my hand won't hurt like a mother after a song like this). I have trouble not muting the high E string when I wrap my hand around like that. What's your take on this?

  • @TheVasicist When I first started playing, I did barre chords the traditional way, with an index finger. But I switched to the thumb over the top method fairly early on. Getting the low E (or the A, for that matter) to ring true is a matter of practice, I guess. You kind of have to shift your whole grip, just twisting your hand a little over the top of the neck as if you're turning a door knob.

  • .pt that chord you are playing at 0:58 is it with the root on the 4th fret 5th string (C#) or on the 6th fret 4th string(G#)?

  • @angela21215 Actually, I'm playing that with my thumb muting both the E and A strings.

  • @angela21215 @angela21215

That chord is a G#+ (Augmented)

  • you got it!

  • Loved your cover

  • I hear ya. Looking over the tab, I don't know what to call those chords either.. except they certainly do sound perfect against such a beautiful melody. Great job. You really inspired me to want to learn this piece.

  • Great performance, very fine use of passing chords, many of which I will have to lift from you !!

  • Great performance. What are the chord progresssions?

  • @AMATONER Well, let's see. It starts in F, and I think there's a G7 in there somewhere... Seriously, dude, I don't know what most of those chords are called! :)

  • @privettricker that's amazing , did you get that ear from practicing alone ? or do you have perfect pitch ?

  • @roflmao791 I don't really know what perfect pitch is, but I do know that if you practice enough, you can play anything you want to play. Don't forget, I've been playing close to 30 years now. That's a lot of hours, and it's never felt like work.

  • @privettricker is there anything you did specifically to try to train your ear though ? and what exactly do you listen for in a song like this since you just made up the chords ? that basically means you can make a guitar part for anything which is so awesome .

and also at the end when you move to that B7 open chord , are you muting the high e / b string with your palm ? thanks man

  • so great!!!

  • Excellent job. That was perfectly done. I've played that song for a way but didn't appreciate a few of the chord changes and rhythm patters you played. Thanks again.

  • It was always such a Pauly tune, but I'm not sure why - I guess he had a penchant for classic rhythms... would this be a rhumba or cha-cha or some such beat? Anyway, I doff my hat to your efforts. Nice.

  • hey privettricker - i'm in london - what if swap you some tea from harrods, a union jack t shirt or something like that in exchange for a lesson on the intro to free's travelling in style?

  • how on earth did you ever figure out all those changes?! you are a hero!

  • Love those weird and plentiful chords...

  • thx for not going out saturday nite to make your loyal followers a great video

  • What an awesome song :D nice job PT :D

  • Hello Mr privettrickerr I admire very much and is my favorite teacher, just a question how do you learn to play the songs?

  • you do not like Guns N 'Roses?

  • @JonasSiames Please no GnR.

  • @Baci302 Don't worry.

  • @privettricker : )))

  • Officially you're now the eighth Beatle!

  • Damn PT, you make it look so easy...can I borrow your "Easy Button"? loll!!

  • Damn impressive!!!!

  • Remember this from Ed Sullivan show, George was the prime player in this one, you do a excellent job by the way, it's like Jazz or classical, where the lead is a chord, instead of single notes, so it's a little more difficult to play.

  • I'm in a better mood now...

  • damn it,i just learned this a few days ago.

  • Well done, PT. You're my favorite teacher and you nailed this song. Awesome!

  • amazing job my friend - another thumbs up from this kid,not that you need it!!!

  • i like the white light that you have on your hands/guitar in this video. makes it very clear what you are doing.

  • sin saberlo,la tocas igual que yo( la saqué de oído)xD

  • You really love the Beatles i think! kk!!! You are the best on Beatles Cover! Thanks for teach us and play this songs! Check my bad covers on my channel, bye!

  • @kink2508 it's a Gibson

  • @kink2508 That's a Gibson Dove.

  • hello

    nice work !

do you like to play "as tears go by" by the stones

    thank you Daniel

  • Awesome job! I'm favoriting so I can watch and learn during Thanksgiving break!

  • Man, you are on a roll :)

Who says John wasn't a good guitar player? This song is a bitch to play

  • Very nice cover !! Typical sixties sound and quite unusual chords but not for the Fab Four !! Well done !! Slainte ! Phalaïna

  • i love diminished chords.

  • Bravo! Best cover the Beatles did.

  • Nobody can ever accuse Paul McCartney of being a 3 chord wonder. He has a history of writing songs with multiple chord changes. He is a true melody maker.

Hats off privettricker! A beautiful job - as always....

  • @whyyeseyec great song and cover but was written by Meredith Wilson not McCartney. nice job on the cover by privettricker also!

  • @TheStratman1963 : Yes, you are correct. My mistake....

  • a lovely song played well, when i play it it sounds silghtly out of tune ?.
