@Evan42881 Who makes fun of you at school for listening to that stuff? Most teenagers go through a classic rock phase. In fact, there were more people listening to those bands when I was 13 than now that I'm older. If anything, people look at me more weirdly the older I get, and that I'm still obsessed with music from the 60's.
What a gift you have! I'm certain a lot of hard work went into getting as good as you are - and it's really quite a blessing to many people's ears! Happy Thanksgiving!
@rosalita714 Most of the songs I record, I've never played before, like this one. So it took about a half-hour to memorize the changes. The chords themselves came fairly quickly (mostly because I just made them up and hoped for the best!), but memorizing the structure of the song is usually the more time-consuming part.
PT I requested for you to do this song. If I retire and devote 24 hours a day 7 days a week I might have it down in about a year and a half. You are awesome. Thanks
@privettricker It only took you 1/2 hr to learn this??You've gotta be kidding me-this isn't an easy song...in fact,it's probably the hardest Beatles song there is !!
Man,that was more like George Benson than The Beatles. I know they didn't write this but what a great song and you performed it perfectly. I can't imagine anyone hating The Beatles?!!! The Stones also. What is wrong with these people?
@andy65guitar Yeah, I've heard of people who can take-or-leave the Beatles, but I'd never heard anyone say they hate them before. Maybe that's just a generational thing.
Try playing an F#7#9 at the end of the solo (before you resolve to F). You play it like a barre F#7 on the 2nd fret only barre the B and E string at the 5th fret with your pinky.
Hey PT, A question about your technique for playing barre chords.
Did you learn the thumb over the top method first, or did you pick that up later? I find it very difficult personally, but I can see the advantages to it if mastered (ie, my hand won't hurt like a mother after a song like this). I have trouble not muting the high E string when I wrap my hand around like that. What's your take on this?
@TheVasicist When I first started playing, I did barre chords the traditional way, with an index finger. But I switched to the thumb over the top method fairly early on. Getting the low E (or the A, for that matter) to ring true is a matter of practice, I guess. You kind of have to shift your whole grip, just twisting your hand a little over the top of the neck as if you're turning a door knob.
I hear ya. Looking over the tab, I don't know what to call those chords either.. except they certainly do sound perfect against such a beautiful melody. Great job. You really inspired me to want to learn this piece.
@AMATONER Well, let's see. It starts in F, and I think there's a G7 in there somewhere... Seriously, dude, I don't know what most of those chords are called! :)
@roflmao791 I don't really know what perfect pitch is, but I do know that if you practice enough, you can play anything you want to play. Don't forget, I've been playing close to 30 years now. That's a lot of hours, and it's never felt like work.
@privettricker is there anything you did specifically to try to train your ear though ? and what exactly do you listen for in a song like this since you just made up the chords ? that basically means you can make a guitar part for anything which is so awesome .
and also at the end when you move to that B7 open chord , are you muting the high e / b string with your palm ? thanks man
Excellent job. That was perfectly done. I've played that song for a way but didn't appreciate a few of the chord changes and rhythm patters you played. Thanks again.
It was always such a Pauly tune, but I'm not sure why - I guess he had a penchant for classic rhythms... would this be a rhumba or cha-cha or some such beat? Anyway, I doff my hat to your efforts. Nice.
hey privettricker - i'm in london - what if swap you some tea from harrods, a union jack t shirt or something like that in exchange for a lesson on the intro to free's travelling in style?
Remember this from Ed Sullivan show, George was the prime player in this one, you do a excellent job by the way, it's like Jazz or classical, where the lead is a chord, instead of single notes, so it's a little more difficult to play.
You really love the Beatles i think! kk!!! You are the best on Beatles Cover! Thanks for teach us and play this songs! Check my bad covers on my channel, bye!
Nobody can ever accuse Paul McCartney of being a 3 chord wonder. He has a history of writing songs with multiple chord changes. He is a true melody maker.
Hats off privettricker! A beautiful job - as always....

Does anyone know what the chord at 0:52 is?
TheVasicist 2 months ago
@TheVasicist
Gminor
cenjim 2 months ago
@cenjim I meant the chord right after G minor. As far as I can tell, it goes G minor, something, C7. Whats that chord in between?
TheVasicist 2 months ago
@TheVasicist D+ (Augmented), is that the one? at 0:53
cenjim 2 months ago
@cenjim: looks like the change is Gm, D+, G7, C7, G#+, and back to the F.
cenjim 2 months ago
@cenjim Thanks!
TheVasicist 2 months ago
@TheVasicist that chord is a minor(major7)
you can fret it like a G7 but instead of putting your middle finger on the g string move it up to the d string on the same fret
roflmao791 2 months ago
@TheVasicist and the chords go Gm, Gminor(major7), G7, C7, G#+ (augmented)
