  • i was looking for these guys ! :)

  • This may be the most underrated album of the '90s, and this is the crown jewel and centerpiece of it, even more so than "The Way".

Too bad this band got phased out by their record label in favor of teen-pop acts. I miss them so fucking much. They could've been just as successful as 3 Doors Down and Nickelback if given the chance by major labels and the radio people. ;-(

  • Brings me right back to the best part of my life. Just got out of HS working at Sears dating a hottie no worries 18 years old what a summer that was.

This song used to play on the intercom all the time. N64 WCW Revenge, Goldeneye!!! ahhhh

  • @mnap128 haha WCW REVENGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAHHHH

  • Thanks Buffy.

  • Hey kids,

I've got a new album called These Ghosts Have Bones, you can get it on i-tunes or amazon. Thanks for listening, MILES

  • difficult to listen to this song just once - and at a volume less that 7.

  • I remember seeing Pitbull stating in an interview saying music today is "10%" talent "90%" business in a smart ass manner, trying to look cool. Well you have certainly got the talent bit right because you and your contemporaries today are utter sht you twat!

  • @Rez34534

I couldn't have put it any better. And just for that I am going to invent another profile on you tube so you can get TWO thumbs up from me.

  • Why does this video have only 112,458 views? A stupid Lada Gaga video can get hundreds of millions of views within a couple of months, and this video has been up for almost three years! People are truly missing out on 90s nostalgia!

  • @spacefreak09 Because of massively increasing population, there are more idiot kids who don't understand what music is then people who can tell talent from autotune.

  • @Archeminos Exactly...at least you see value in this music, rather than autotuned junk!

  • @Archeminos Exactly...at least you see value in this music, rather than autotuned junk!

  • "I'll be the rain falling on your fire escape, and I may not be the man you want me to. I could be myself, how 'bout you?" Awesome lyrics and awesome song. Jeeze I miss 90s music.

  • ya i remember this song from btvs it was in the 3rd season i believe

  • I always liked this video - an obsessed fan with their dead bodies scattered around her house. Ghoulish but funny.

  • Does anyone remember when this was playing in Buffy the Vampire Slayer when Buffy & Cordelia were fighting over the homecoming queen title?

  • I remember the 90's playing music from 60's 70's 80's and of course 90's.

now just pop shit who remember music from 2010 nobody.

  • actually i'd say 1956-1999 is the greatest music and 2000's on = death of music well most of it =D

  • @KyplayaZ4lyfe Couldn't agree more. That is not nostalgia that is the truth :). Accept I would go back even farther with music than 1956.

  • @Shawnziii473 haha how far like in the times of frank sinatra, ink spots, bing crosby, and mills brothers

  • i fully agree with Havermayer cuz ther really is no life or soul or passion behind anything today to a point wher ther copying stuff from the 90s and back cuz ther can not think up anything new on ther own its really sad. and one more thing ther is no more mtv anymore its RSATV

  • @teketotem989 we're saying this now, but keep in mind that ONLY the GOOD stuff survives from each generation, not necessarily the hits. In the 70s; Definitive groups like CCR & The Doors didn't chart particularly well. Groups that did include Captain and Tennile, The Carpenters, and Starland Vocal Band; who all released "Hits" (massive ones mind you) that now rank among the worst songs ever written. New music has it's good and bad, but a decade's final judgement must wait 9 years.

  • BS - this is great music and as good as it getz!!

  • Que genial video me trae muchos recuerdos de finales de los noventas !!! saludos desde Chile !!

  • LOL!! Great Fun!

  • lol at 41 seconds "what happened to FASTBALL? i heard they are missing! they are all over the news!" ""THEY ARE ALL DEAD IN MY HOUSE! Ha Ha Ha.... (: (: (: (:"" "they made up their minds"

  • They've been missing for seventy-chew hours.

  • Apperently she's sticking to commercials

  • the girl in the video is that the person who played as dj from full house

  • @TTBurger88 No, its not DJ from Full House but the girl in this video does look familiar.

  • @museblock Have you seen Stephanie? Her boobs got HUGE

  • 4 people cant be themselves!!!!

  • Francis Lawrence is the director. No wonder it's great :-)

  • The whole cd is great.

  • I love this song, I heard it on the Musak at work. This vid id so cool, it looks like it's one shot

  • Psycho lady!!!!! lol

  • This is a GREAT song! I miss the 90's. What ever happened to bands like this?

  • lÓl_í_féÊl_só_lÔnêly_tÔdÄY

  • This is such a hip song and hip video, band and camera and crew deserve every bit of credit due them. Awesome, just flippin' awesome!

  • This song video totally reminds me of my ex wife...seriously

  • man, the camera guy is THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!

  • good stuff, man

  • yes, this was directed by Francis Lawrence, he did tons of videos and commercials as well as som movies. I worked this video and you can can see my friend Jay Cutter at the end.

  • I know the camera operator. He used a steadi-cam for the wholew shoot, not one edit.. I worked this video. it was 120 degrees near Magic Mountain that day.

  • @madcircle1970 How many takes did you REALLY do and is there a cut just outside the door there?

  • FUCKEN AWESOME VID!!!!!

  • Love this song and the video brings back some memories from MUCH music channel

  • who ever directed this is amazing!!!

  • @daisylovet - - This was directed by Francis Lawrence - look him up on Wikipedia for his other credits. It's an awesome piece of videography for sure!

  • 35 seconds they predicted the future of music.

  • That. Bitch.

  • Achava esse clipe foda

  • 1985-1999 greatest music

  • @ilovesnowboarding17 personally 1920-2007

  • @ilovesnowboarding17 I'd say 1964-1999

  • @ilovesnowboarding17 i agree with u but to me good music died in 2004

  • @TTBurger88 >"Good music Died in 04"

    >2006, Iron Maiden releases "A Matter of Life and Death"

    >2010 they release "The Final Frontier"

    >AC/DC Releases "Black Ice" in 2008

    >Slayer releases "Christ Illusion" in 06

Seriously, where the fuck have you been?

  • @Bobofjudia Yeah? The thing is back then you don't have to search for good music to hear them, they're playing on the radio and on TV.

  • @emmthreejonny here's some suggestions: Go to a record store like FYE or something. They sell just about everything there, or look up any other record store's catalog. Or, look up some bands on the internet, get suggestions from friends or other people. Don't rely on the media and other mainstream sources to spoon-feed you shit if you don't like it.

  • @Bobofjudia - I'm just saying back in the day when mainstream media played music that was actually good, were introduced to new bands or new albums and we get to hear their music first before we consider buying them. And being in high school then, we did not have enough money to spend on many things. So far same goes for today.

  • @emmthreejonny Well now that we use the internet more frequently than in the 90's, we're able to look up songs and listen to them on our own, without having to sit through a bunch of other songs and commercials.

  • @Bobofjudia man I just remembered when MTV aired shows like ALTERNATIVE NATION, SUPERROCK, HEADBANGERS BALL. Now I don't even know why they still call themselves MTV.

  • @emmthreejonny The problem is, there's no good, easy media to find music you like anymore, save for Pandora. The era this came out, we had: MTV, Muchmusic, VH1, Columbia House, ACTUAL MOM N POP RECORD STORES, Rock radio, etc. We have NONE of these now, don't even say MTV, it don't count now. We didn't have as much internet tech then, so bands relied on more common media outlets to be heard. You would actually see posters on shop windows everywhere touting bands' new records.

  • @Revidescent84 I personally say credible music mags are the way to go. Spin, NME, Alternative Press(if we still have it?), ChartAttack, Blender, Revolver, hell even Esquire runs some damn fine music editions from time to time. I do, however wish I hadn't got a lifetime sub to Rolling Stone. Aging liberal hipsters jumping on every bandwagon.

  • @TTBurger88 You're just not looking in the right place. Finding good music nowadays is like mining for gold. You have to search hard and dig deep t find the most precious gems. With the internet, you can find most of these artists easy peasy. I've found dozens if not hundreds of bands from the past few years that are definitely worth checking out through it. If you think the music on the radio is the only music that's out there, then you're an idiot.

  • That's the BIGGEST coffee mug I've ever seen!

  • Kinda like the unravelling of a mystery. It's raw Chicken in the fridge. And then she opens the door and a REAL live chicken runs out. It must symbolize death or something. Very clever. Its the first time I've seen this. Fastball is still churning out Albums. Theyre still together. The radio doesn't play talented music like this anymore.

  • what is her fidge if some one could tell me. thank you in advance

  • 90's music has something special... More emotions I think, and that makes it great. Matchbox 20, Fastball, Semisonic, who remembers these bands anyway? But their songs are brilliant, and I'm glad I found out about them.

  • @orlasplit I'm a 22 year old black guy with this song as his ringtone & I LOVE IT!!! And I like all of those bands that you listed orlasplit. I was mostly into R&B/Hip-Hop when I was a kid until I started listening to the Now (That's What I Call Music) albums Volumes 1-10 which opened me up to a variety of genres. Unfortunately Now 10 (2002) was the last best volume because music itself became really bad by the time Now 11 came out.

  • Great jam...

  • This is probably the best single-shot music video in existence.

  • 1:00 the ORIGINAL fatheads lol

  • Awesome band!!!!!! what happend to these guys?? awesome vid.

  • They used to be so good...

  • I dont wanna walk in their shoes :D

  • I love the actress in this....reminds me of my sister

  • "they gave me the wrong keys" ... lol clever vid, and great camera work.

  • whos the lady?

  • @Montyg213 its jennifer aniston in her first role

  • @obamarosa she is not jennifer aniston man! i dont know who is her, but not Aniston for sure!

  • @Montyg213

    She is Piper Perabo.

  • Fastball is still the best Power Pop Trio out of the 90's and I'm glad to say they're still touring and playing. This is my favorite single from their 2nd LP "All the Pain Money Can Buy".

Saw the tour for this LP...AWESOME!

  • Was just watching a Buffy re-run and this song came on. Ah, memories.

  • Last year when I saw them in concert I requested this song, and even though it was late and there were only like 10 people still remaining, they played it. Wonderful band, and great guys.

  • Great

  • her name is big car

  • their best song

  • I love this song...

  • I can be myself how about you.

  • is this song about obsession? i love the music so much one of my all time favorite

  • clasic rock and roll...

  • love this band's music, nothing beats the 90's

  • this video is great. fire escape is actually my second favorite song of all time, second only to under pressure. :)

  • Wow. That was well done! Is the song that old already? I remember when it just came out. Seems like just a couple years ago. I'll go see 'em if I have the chance.

  • Saw these guys a few days ago at a benefit gig...love this song :)

  • the "about you" bit, reminds me of The Beatles's "And Your Bird Can Sing", when they sing "you can see... me" :)

  • oohh i remember this video way back when MTV play music videos and not reality bullsh*t - Cool like-Beatle song - the tracking shots are awesome!

  • cat looks like my cat

  • that was pretty killer until the end. they should have stuck to the story.

  • Wow! Really, really cool music video.

  • Perfect Pop

  • That was a pretty clever News Break in the video.

  • Great video, great song. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

  • i love his voice =]]

  • This is the first time I've seen this video; I absolutely love the whole "obsessed fan" idea. I laughed my butt off!

  • @Swtadline loved the obsessed fan as well, I think I've seen the girl in the video on several movies, great song from the 90's

  • Yes, memories. But, thank God, they're still making music. Get the Little white lies album, it's even better than All the pain money can buy.

  • @prljavi13 No, it really isn't

  • one of the best songs from the late 90's!!!! Bands now-a-days dont sound anything like this. Classic!!!

  • 1:46 creeper much?!

  • Is the chick in this video Piper Parabo?

  • Highly underated band. I love this song, I miss Fastball. Big fat hollow bodied guitars are the WAY to go.

  • Amazing song and mindblowing video!! Are they still doing music?

  • KMMS in Bozeman, MT was playing this last week........... amazing song

  • 98.

  • a very beatle-esque riff on this song. fab!

  • man i love this song so much

  • its sad how the best song (fire escape) from this album got the least play... Well, WHTG 1063 played this and they were the best!

    R.I.P. WHTG 106.3

  • Fastball deserves the attention the Black Eyed Peas are getting. It's just they aren't advertised at all. Personally, I think this song is 10X better then any of their songs.

  • good pv!!

    i love fastball!

  • The nostalgia kills me...I was 18 when this came out damn time flies but these were the best

  • @mnap128 this was played in season 3 of ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer: senior year 1999!!!!!!!!!! that's how I came across this song. I miss the late 90s as well

  • I was 9, different kind of nostalgia for me.

  • yeh I hear ya!

At 18 19 the world seems full of excitement and opportunities

These songs bring me back to that exciting yet somewhat anxious time in my life

I will treasure the memories that mold me forever, without living in the past of course

  • I remember watching this video back in 98, I was soo jealous of all the fastball stuff she had, but I wouldn't want Tony dead in my bathtub LMAO!

  • I love this song!! And I love how the video riffs on Misery!!

  • it wont let me play the video...wtf.

  • The measure of a great band is that their songs all sound different but are hit quality stuff! That's FASTBALL!! Nobody does it better.

  • This is one of the most clever videos out there. I just wish they would make the video longer to give info as to how and why the band members ended up in her house to begin with.

  • Does ANYBODY know the camera operator for this video? Because, damn he is TALENTED. Really nice work.

  • @jihadsoup I believe that this video was shot with a SteadiCam. I think that it's a gyroscopically controlled camera that minimizes shake. You can find it on Wikipedia.

  • @jihadsoup it's amazing what a Steadicam can do ;)

  • @jihadsoup This video was directed by Francis Lawrence

He did a lot of videos.

  • Walking today in Ottawa, Canada. Rainy as shit. Walked under some fire escapes on Bank Street and got hit by a bunch of big drops. "Fire Escape" instantly became lodged in my head. Listened to it about seven times in a row here tonight on YouTube. Thanks for posting this kickass song so I could listen to it after all these years. Always loved this one.

  • Okay how did I miss this one? It rocks!

  • such a simple good song

evrythin s great about this song

  • I love how this video is made, the camera movments and angles and all? It's great! Reminds me of the Silent Hill movie Credits,

  • i used to have this cd in my car for months at at time, i don't know how i listened to it over and over but i did,

  • WTF is up with music today? Why cant bands get it? 90's was full of raw emotion, something this generation's music is lacking.

  • @PlumfulPixie for sure....90's had the best music. I like 80's too but 90's had a whole lot of heart

  • @PlumfulPixie ohhh get off your high horse you simply dont get that the emotions in this generations music comes from meaning and lyrics not how we sing it :D

  • i agree 100 percent. They sound a bit like the wallflowers in the song, anyone else think?

  • @PlumfulPixie I grew up in the 90's and used to say the same thing about previous decades; "why isn't 90's music as good as the 70's?", and so on. I guess some things never change :)

  • @MsWhateverusername That's probably because 90s wasn't as good. but in comparison to music of today i would take 90s anyday. Hell. i would even take 80s and i dislike 80s more than any other decade.

  • @PlumfulPixie What yous aid gave me chills. Glad i was alive in the 90's ;)

  • @PlumfulPixie in the 90s, music had stopped being good in the 80s. in the 80s, music had stopped being good in the 70s. in the 70s, music had stopped being good in the 60s. and so on... everything is crap and everything is good. its in us, not out there

  • @PlumfulPixie This is just nostalgia talking. In the 90's, the older generation was saying that the current music sucked and was not as good as it was "back then".

  • @Havermayer No, the music today is literally garbage.. lol

  • @Havermayer in the 90's it was actually still music though, and hadn't fallen into a pit of hipster art fags with jackets and fedoras. songs could be catchy and up-beat without being too pop-oriented. sure people of older generations probably felt a gap between 90's music and their own, but alot of the same principals applied to the construction. those principals which made music good just dont really exist in what people are pumping out these days. the atmosphere and the agenda behind it

  • @Havermayer Yeah, but I seriously believe pop music is in a terrible way even yet.

  • @Havermayer It is partly that and there has always been less innovative mainstream music but i think the problem is also that mainstream, generic and money driven music has become more popular and dominating in todays society as consumerism and materialism has increased alongside it. Therefore more innovative and original music is more unrecognised than ever, especially among the younger generation. As a member of the same generation i am very sad this is the case.

  • @PlumfulPixie you are about the 1 millionth oldster to say that. It is time for you to get thee to an old-school music store. I suggest getting the Airborne Toxic Event album to ease you back in.

  • @PlumfulPixie you are about the 1 millionth oldster to say that. It is time for you to get thee to an old-school music store. I suggest getting the Airborne Toxic Event album to ease you back in.

By the way, Fastball is playing down the street tonight in the park.

By the way, Fastball is playing down the street tonight in the park in San Marcos, TX

  • @PlumfulPixie whoooops! Enter happy.

  • @PlumfulPixie ugh again people you can look past mtv and radio to find good music idk wtf your listening too but the non mainstream bands i listen to have more raw emotion then alot of the 90's bands did

  • 90's....I MISS YOU SO BAD!

  • Cool song, cool band!!

  • sweet hook, kooky but fun vid-GREAT SONG!

  • One of the greatest videos of all time. Makes me miss the 90's more & more.

  • BRILLIANT vid! No surprise that Lawrence went on to direct megabudget Hollywood movies...

  • Another great one from the best time in the 90's.

  • Blonde hair, blue eyes, closet voodoo shrine (w/ chickens), killer of that which she holds most dear... OMG the PERFECT WOMAN!

  • I like this video/song but it depresses the shit out of me, reminds me of when I turned 21.

  • I soo love this video, sometimes I want to do the exact same thing to my disgusting roommate what that girl does with fastball:)))..I hate you Bazs, you're dirty, you never clean the apartment and someone should really tell you that NOONE wears leather pants in july...

  • Boy she is going to need to get that carpet cleaned. Btw do u think they gave her the wrong key, just to mess with her or was the video supposed to be shot that way?

  • This video is hilarious! Good song too! Everybody that likes their music should get their new album "Little White Lies"

  • this was in buffy!

  • really? what episode?

  • homecoming

  • Great song.
