  • Stop running kid is right on the money.

  • You guys are crazy. Clearly we did the time consumer intro on purpose

  • @JonathonFailsAtLife Post that shit.

  • Hate to burst your bubble's guys, but don't you think they were too prepared for that switch. Especially with Josh's drums. They planned, but they all looked at Claud because of those sour notes he hits at first. I would bet money.

  • pureist coheed.

  • hot damn, I was at this show...thanks for the nostalgia

  • D --> 2:21 when they stop and all bust out, it's so se%y.

  • Fucking so stoked for the 4/26 show at the electric factory, playing SSTB in its entirety! Can't wait to see this live.

  • When coheed was good...

  • @LaTensiFy lies. Coheed was and still is god

  • @LaTensiFy what you mean when they were good ? they still kick ass dude .

  • @0:05 everyone's probabbly thinking HELL YEA TIME CONSUMER!!

Then claudio @0:08 is like "Not on my watch!!" haha

  • @miikeniike09 haha i get it cuz it's TIME consumer...

  • 1:40-2:45 =ROCK MY FACE

  • 0:10 Travis and josh are both like "wtf?" haha

  • Long live Josh Eppard

  • these guys should have stuck with these post-hardcore roots.

  • @ajesusgoat

you, sir, are a fucking genious....

  • This is very very close to being my favorite Coheed video. Just so raw and beautiful. Everytime i look coheed up on here, i end up watching this. As a musician, nobody's story is as inspiring as their's. I love them, and will always!

  • I love the beginning! It started off slow like then he just busted in at the PERFECT time to change the song and the rest of he band was like alright lets do it we know every song and were not posers who have a lineup and only practice those ones

  • @osostewie do you read minds, because that is exactly what josh was thinking...

  • 2:30 Best drummer alive. God, I miss him.

  • @YouKilledAlan best drummer alive? now he could be your favorite and thats fine but there are thousands of drummers better than him. hes very repetitive. now coheed is my favorite band so of course i like his drumming so im not being a troll haha but my opinion for the best drummer alive is the one they currently have Chris Pennie. check him out. Guns of Summer is a fine example or just put panosonic youth (for DEP) thats just my two cents on drummers. Also the Rev from A7X and markus from COF

  • @solonaviavenger He's not the best drummer in the world. But, he's definitely not "repetitive".. He's just.. A good drummer with a whole bunch of steez. There isn't a lack of variety in anything he plays. Him playing to a beat doesn't make him repetitive, and considering his basic kit, he takes full advantage of it and is aware of what he's playing.

  • @solonaviavenger all chris pennie does is double pedal, thats it, imo opinion, i like josh's classical progressive feel . in this style i think josh is superior . i like chris though he's an awesome drummer, but theres one thing he cant do, and thats hi hat roll .

  • @matthewsinist3r Chris uses the double pedal in only 3 coheed songs. and of course he can hi-hat roll check out the dillinger escape plan.

  • @YouKilledAlan and casy grillo from Kamelot for double kick consistancy. Also the drummer from Into Eternity is great as well. hopefully you will enjoy these drummers as well :] Adem Carson from AFI is also very good with the Hi-Hat. I'm a drummer and they are all of my influences anyway.

  • Man I loved it when they used to do the trick Time Consumer opening. Great stuff.

  • @Markle27 did u see them when they did it aswell?

  • These guys and The White Stripes are the only that has any significance in the 2000's. Refreshing and depressing :)

  • If we rally enough pepole and e-mail rock band peeps enough we could get them to make it!!

  • lol, i love the way josh starts playing Time consumer and just as travis goes to start Claudio just busts out Neverender and they all look at him like WTF!

  • @XBloodOnTheRoadsideX ROFL sooo true... the look travis gives him is hilarious.

  • @XBloodOnTheRoadsideX so funny, i wouldn't have noticed that if you didn't point it out, thats funny

  • @XBloodOnTheRoadsideX good look bro

  • @XBloodOnTheRoadsideX I think actually Mic, Claudio, and Josh were all in on it, because they all come in on the two hits at the beginning of Neverender. Travis is the only one left out. CLASSIC!

  • @TheFireTongue They frequently did this (Time Consumer drum intro to Neverender). I have several full concert recordings of this period of Coheed, and they did it quite a bit.

  • @heid20 Yeah my bad haha, yes it is.

  • lol, start to do everything evil then claudio plays neverender.

  • claudio lost his pick somewhere in there haha

  • 0:11 travis is lis like, "WTF are you doing?" lol

  • that lone gibson les paul has been in Travs arsenal for so goddamn long. i want it

  • how in the fuck did green day get there own rock band and not coheed??? like srsly cmon man -.-

  • I think that at :09 seconds, it just shows what a great band this is. Right there when josh was trying to go into time consumer......Claudio just starts playing neverend, ..............they all look and pick it up from there. It was so flawless. Awesome i just saw them twice this year, cant wait for the third

  • Damn, Travis' hair is kinda long here compared to now...never thought I'd say that a few months ago haha.

  • i vote Rock Band Coheed and Pavement should be the next 2!!

  • Man, this makes me so nostalgic. This is the Coheed I love and miss.

  • haha josh tries to go into time consumer but claudio was havin none of that

  • this is tha best neverender performence xD

  • LOL!!! Travis, he had no idea what Claudio and Josh were doing.... Just a testament to the musical talent each of these guys possesses. He just picked it up and it sounded great.

  • Hehe, Claudio was rockin' out in the end with no pick.

  • Is it me, or is the drum line the same as Time Consumer at the very begining

  • yeah dude, I noticed the same thing.

  • they liked to fool the crowds back then by starting one song and then kicking in to another, though travis did seemed a little surprised

  • Comment removed

  • lol, i just noticed that, i wish they would do that now, nothings better than a surprise

  • @monkeyboi0123 It's not just you. I thought the same thing xD

  • @monkeyboi0123 i was just gonna write the same thing. lol

they all look up at claudio and switch to neverender

  • Nah, they did this quite a few times with the Time Consumer drum intro around 2003. I think it was in the Tulagi shows also.

  • That was the best preformance of Neverender i've seen so far!!!! That is so awesome!!!! The crowd loved them so much even back then, its incredible.

  • back then, people still love them...long live Coheed

  • ITS THIER FUCKING MUSIC STFU!!

  • 2:22

  • @juble2 from the stop at 1:59-2:22. why were they so much better ack then? They put in all those amazing little things and made it sounds so much better, and rocked out so much harder.

This is the band with natural chemistry. Right here. Perfection. In the later days, they still were tight as hell with josh, still magical. Josh left. new drummers, new basists, magic was lost. Even witih mic back, this perfection will never be achieved again.

  • josh was key. never really the same.

  • The bassist in this video is Mic Todd. Don't know what you're talking about.

  • yes it is. but than he left. than he came back later on.

  • Anyone here how different claudio's talking voice sounds in the beginning? Almost sounds like mike.

  • @XJunesongXProvisionX It was Mic. Claudio only said "Yeah, thanks for coming out"

  • thats the sickest coheed performance ever!!!

  • is it just me or does it seem like Travis is playing the opening rift to welcome home? and yes i know this is 03 and welcome home was released in 05.

  • nah, ther'es too many half steps, i guess i coudl see some similarities tho haha

  • you know what im talking about though right, like as soon as the video starts you gotta listen closely.

  • haha yea man, he plays a fifth, which is the main interval of that lick haha. i hear it bro.

  • It's basically jsut a minor scale.. Welcom home's riff. which is why it's easily picked up by accident by someone who knows there minior scales.

  • ahh, gotcha man

  • WAAAHHH!!! THE SOLO??? DAMMIT!!! why did you cut the solo part :'(

  • i love this, just from watching this and starland you can see how far they progressed in that time period... travis isnt even 21 in this vid, hes got x's haha

  • No. You're obviously a naive 11 year old little video game addict.

  • No I have obviously been playing guitar for 8 years , and it's easier than guitar hero Mr. Cool Kid.

  • Uh, no. Five buttons on a plastic innacurate-looking guitar is NOT hard to do.

  • Travis's Les Paul is beautical in every sense of the word

  • yo its so nice to see claudio in his pre-smoke-ruined-lungs-so-he-can't-sing-up-really-high-like-he-used-to-like-in-this-video days.

i still like his voice, but in this time he could still do the "point your gun in another direction" voice well.

  • have you seen the neverender performance of Neverender?

  • Who Thinks Coheed & Cambria should get there own stand alone rock band game??????

  • I would be in love with it. haha false hopes =(

  • O god yes, i would sing all the songs and use my guitar hero explorer controller and rock out like claudio and do that sick sniper thing he does with the guitar lol.

  • Amen to that

  • hell yeah. that would be great

  • pick up a real fucking instrument and quit waisting your life clicking buttons

  • @xtremejakes I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @xtremejakes not me, rockband sucks

  • @xtremejakes ahaaa i thought that many times. it should happen, no doubt about it

  • @xtremejakes so fuckin agree!

  • @xtremejakes i think it should be guitar hero, but we all have our own opinions

  • @xtremejakes that would be soooooo bad ass!!!!

  • @xtremejakes i would cry and play everysong like 100 times

  • @xtremejakes HELL YEA!!!

  • @xtremejakes yes

  • @xtremejakes YES ...I would lay down my real guitar and try to be a Guitar Hero

  • @xtremejakes The controller wouldn't have enough buttons.

  • start criticizing when you can get up on stage and do that fag

  • u know who rocks coheed does i even saw them live in hollywood at the avalon

  • Argh... Travis cut his hair again. Now he looks exactly like he did in this video xD

  • damn that oldschool coheed is soo awesome. i wish they still had that drummer...

  • what a classic video

  • I <3 COHEED SSSOOO much!

  • i wish claudio would do his crazy dances now a days now he just stomps and gets low but the that crazy jigg he used to do in the early videos was the shit!!!!!!! coheed forever!!!

  • dude I hear you man

  • bassists and rythm gutarists hella changed

  • anyone know what kinda bass drum josh is using here

  • i think in this era he was using premier drums

  • are you sure they aren't tamas? i saw him playing this set in another vid, and he had a tama snare, but a lot of drummers have a various collection of different brand snares. they still very well could be an early tama set though.

  • erm i think its a big round white one with a black skin and a pedal attached

  • I love this song so much. when they played this at neverender in NY i was right in the front i nearly fainted from awesomeness that is Coheed

  • and cambria

  • oh so go and blame it on the nose, then. have you ever tought how claudio's nose would feel if you told him that?? well, have you?? shame on you.

  • also old coheed had break downs and new coheed now has solos , they have changed quite a bit , but sstb was the best album and good apollo volume 2 was there second

  • the only difference is newer coheed is deeper voice and les techanacal. Coheed on secong stage did alot of higher piched guitar stuff , now its like heavy instead of claudio playing low chords and travis playing high scales its claudio playing low and travis playing middle to low pitched scales

  • New Coheed is just as much, if not more technical than old Coheed

  • this drummer was the king!

  • life altering band, RE: who needs a mother fucking pick.

  • I wish I went to this, as I live near Baltimore where the Ottobar is. But, I was only 10 years old and wasn't really into them.....

    D:

  • yo same here LaBrendant

  • Nice man. Where you at? I'm near Annapolis.

  • i live in Frederick and the ottobar is like a lil less than an hour away

  • They began writing the prequel album a while ago. Their facebook status just implied that they were continuing it. There was an article on Ultimate-Guitar a couple months back where they mentioned a few of the song titles.

  • Awesome!

  • in case u guys havent heard theyve began writing for the prequel album so.....YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • *gasp* OHH MEHH GOSHHH *faint*

  • i get what alot of you guys mean by saying they dont rock like this anymore, but i disagree..

i mean there albums have changed styles alot since SSTB but (and i know this phrase is overused when talking about coheed) it's a progression, watch the neverender tour..they were amazing, regardless of how much claudio broke out,

yeah claud and mic used to break out more, but you have a whole new drummer with diff style, and travis pretty much is the same

    either way coheed forever<3

  • i can't stand hearing people criticize them for progressing, and a gree with you that's what it is, but honestly there is just something about second stage.

shit, I'd even say In Keeping Secrets.

There's just a certain spark about them that the later ones don't have. I can't explain.

    Favorite Coheed song, hands down.

    2:20 still gives me goosebumps

  • They were raw back then. The new ones are heavily mixed and edited. The old ones were just like: aight lets get this show on the road!

  • I agree. They sound like a whole different band on the last two records. I love both "bands" but I still love their earlier sound more....

  • For sure. The new stuff I think is overall more polished, but what Second Stage lacks in the crisp editing category it more than makes up for in flat-out kicking ass. The drums on that record make my head spin. Love it.

  • You said it.

  • Yeah, Josh's groove on the first album is really, really slick. Only thing I think that beat it was the Willing Well suite.

  • How fucking Gooooood is Coheed? Holy Shiza

  • They deliberately do it, as late as 2007.

  • Definatley a deliberate mistake because Time Consumer and Neverender are in different tunings. Time Consumer is in Drop D and Neverender is in E Standard.

  • lmao faked out

  • my favorite song ever long live the heed

  • who needs a mother fucking pick?!?!

    \m/

  • 1:34

does Mic have a septum piercing? lol

  • Yeah. He used to wear it a lot in the old days. You can see it in some of their old promo pictures.

  • is the everything evil intro deliberate or a well handled mistake?

  • was your coheed song identification deliberate or a mistake?

  • my mistake, they played it differently back then and the intro drumming sounds similar to ee, its just different to the album

  • nah dude, you're right. Colfax is just pissed cause he lives in Colfax, lol. And pretty sure it was both deliberate and bad mothafuckin ass

  • haha yeah i thought so! LONG LIVE COHEED! FUCK COLFAXTV!

  • no, actually, he's wrong. it's time consumer, not ee.

  • son of a bitch... i think i just lost youtube points. fuck dammit.

    good call, colfax.

    good call, aplablahblah

  • lol, have points now. damn

  • Second Stage i think was the best album

  • idk if its just because i have memories with this cd, but i think its the best cd they've ever made.

thier new stuff is sick too

but this cd takes all cakes.

  • I agree, and I started listening when Good Apollo Volume 1 came out

  • i really really agree with this, i loved this cd so much, the rest just isn't the same, it's not as emotional.

  • Best. Album. EVER!

I was hoping they'll go back to this type of style for the prequel album.

Then i saw a pic of Claudio with a sitar, so that image crushed that hope.

  • well he could be using it for another intro or outro like the one at the end of The Final Cut.

    Just a thought

  • your right

but i take all the cakes

    no cake for you

    :|

  • OMG I wish I was there

  • I wish they would play this as hard core as they used to...

  • Amen to that. They used to perform, now they just play and leave. =/

  • why did no one manage to bring up that Claudio is SLAPPING at the end?????

  • Totally just bought a 2002 classic white explorer on ebay. Ive been wanting one for the past five years of my life, all because of that man.

  • 03:10 and 04:25 they have so much energy. why dont they do that stuff anymore?

  • i'm blaming columbia records.

  • dont blame columbia, blame chris. josh was and still is a thousand times better

  • Not that I disagree but its hard to keep a band member when he is so trashed and fucked up he cant even get on a bus or plane to tour.
