I have one of theses! right now it lives at dub narcotic studio but there's aboutr three notes spread out between the new octaves. i have a janky power supply a friend rigged for me about a decade ago. i'll post a viddy of it soon.
Interesting demo! Now I know what I have to look forward to as soon as I finish restoring my Kee Bass. Did yours need any work, or was it ready to go when you got it? I've replaced the electrolytic capacitors in mine, but it still sounds very sickly. I suspect that the 24 trim pots need to be replaced. So far I haven't been able to find the correct replacements. If you know anything about this (if you've had to do it yourself), I'd be very interested to learn how you did it. Thanks --
this one had really corroded power supply pins, coupled with a non original power cable. I had to clean the funk of the two prongs in the back, but then it fired up.
the sound does gate a little on some of the settings, which I'm sure means that it needs new caps. The tuning has drifted too. I should probably get back in and adjust those trim pots.
I have one just like it!!! Can you recommend anyone whom can professionally service this instrument???
