The problem with the health reform program is that is doesn't go far enough. A real health care reform bill could be handled in one sentence: Reduce the Medicaid eligibility age to 0. Simple. Everyone will be covered, the actual cost to each person will be half what it is now. Those in the health care industry will have to get real jobs and will become productive citizens.
I'm sorry, that should be medicare not medicaid. Medicaid would simple disapear along with the publicly funded plan that Mike Huckabee and all elected officials currently enjoy.
If government debt is such an important issue why don't you try to reduce the largest slice of the pie - the military budget? 700 billion this year. Surely a huge amount of that is just pork. Why is putting money into the pockets of defense contractors acceptable but using it for health care isn't???
We all know that This melded bill is a disaster. How will we fix it after it passes? We are 3 trillion in the hole for this fical year and last fiscal year combined to date. It is quaranteed that Congress will spend far more than that before next October. It is clear that Congress will pass the healthcare bill with only the votes of the Dems. I just don't understand why they would dig their own graves politically for decades to come. "We the People" will prevail! Let freedom ring!
