Their point is to keep out people who might pass out if they drink on, and troublemakers. Not getting loud outside, using abusive language or anything that seems agressive is a pretty sure way of avoiding getting refused.

im a bouncer and sometimes i gotta get ruf people think that were not tough guys cause we use force together but sometimes im by myself and have to hand 4-5 at a time ive been stabbed and cut and even bitten by customers but i love my job

Contrary to US law. This is clearly the UK and where the laws of my country are somewhat similar. The law pertaining to boundaries is YOUR property ONLY. I agree some bars have tables and chairs outside which would allow for a lawful extension of property to which the bar owner and their employees are responsible for. The law pertaining to the so-called controversial grey area namely: the front door area and out on to the immediate street.

is NOT actually a written law, but rather an unclear stipulation often placed on by Police to avoid having to turn up to minor bar room skirmishes.
Which stipulation is often systematically wiped the moment some guy or girl gets a crack from the doorstaff!
This is often evident through differed interpretations of law to the rule given by the senior on-scene Police Officer, and again that can hinge on whether or not your in cuffs or not!

The bars historical relationship with the Police and Licensing plays a influential role over what can potentially happen. Often the law of probability is measured against your bars and importantly YOUR past, present and current performance in similar situations, in effect in some cases the law is often overlooked in a court room favouring past results and probability in the execution of duties which landed you in the proverbial crap, similar to what would happen here in this case.
