To see Vicki and to see some of the things that were mentioned in the book, right here on youtube, is so amazing!! How great to see his sweet and gentle nature....wish I could've met him in real life, but am thankful for his book and videos like these. What a beautiful cat!

Why wouldn't a cat be lovable? Obviously the lady talking never had one. I have two cats and they're both very affectionate, funny, vivacious and fascinating. I intend to adopt 2 more cats later, when I move out of my mom's house. I can't live without a cat!

Dewey was a wonderful cat, clearly (I've just read the book), but it should not surprise anyone that a cat could be so lovable. Cat behavior mirrors how their human partners treat them. I have had four cats live to 18 and their eventual passings were difficult for me to experience (I held them in my arms). But their lives were a blessing to me, as Dewey was to, apparently, everyone. What a touching story. I hope everyone is moved to adopt a cat and love it.

I've just finished this wonderful book, and I can relate so totally because my gorgeous ginger boy called Basil, who is now nearly 18 is slowly deteriorating, just like Dewey did in his old age. I cannot bear the thought of even one day without him. May Dewey's memory live on.

@postie2014 "Dewey - The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched The World" by Vicki Myron is his biography. Between the gorgeous photos and the author's warm, instantly likeable writing, you might almost feel the ttile character curled up in your lap as you read it. And yes, I cried as well. Losing a beloved animal is the worst thing in the world.

I'm reading the book right now. There Vicky tells Dewey is a 'normal house-cat'. It's a beautiful Main Coon cat, if I'm right. I have a Main Coon myself and I feel everything sooooooo the same! The caracter from Dewey was exactly like mine. It feels I know Dewey..... It's sad that the 19 years are going sooo fast. I've a video from my best friend on Youtube as well....

Fancy Feast. When we found Moshe (check my channel for him), he was almost dead and starving. But he kept refusing to eat for days and we were sure this was the end. The vet put a can of Fancy Feast 30 inches away from the blind, weak kitten and the latter went strait for it, like he needed no sensory use. Diagnose: "He's just spoiled". Saving Moshe was a challenge I tell you.

I'm currently reading Dewey and he reminds me of a cat we once had. This book really touches my heart. Thx 4 sharing!

I was a mess reading the book when Dewey was put to sleep. Both cats i've had were put to sleep and you say to yourself 'I'm gonna be strong, im gonna be strong' but inevitably, the tears come. Cats are amazing animals and if you haven't read the book, please do.

I've read the Dewey Book. It's really touching me. A clever cat with a great ability to socialize with humans and love people, had made Spencer citizens happier. Dewey really means to us as an unusual great cat forever in our hearts. I can imagine the meaning of cats as our part of life. My cat, Uti dies when she was 14. I remembered her as my youngest sister...

I've read that orange cats are very friendly, for some reason. Dewey may also have some Maine Coon in him. Maine Coon males love their humans and love being the center of attention.

I found out recently that Tom died a few years ago.The grandson of the store owner said his grandpa and the store worker really took it hard when Tom died.I think Tom died in 2000.
