Yes, he shouldn't have been designing for a competitor, however, if he was talented and had been there a long time, in my opinion, Boyd could have said, "Mike, you have a decision to make. Either work for me or work for Foose, but I can't have your talent being used at a competitor. After all, I'm paying you full time wages, benefits, holiday, medical, etc., and foose is getting the same talent withought paying benefits." I wouldn't have fired him, but instead made him decide for himself.

I could be wrong though. Maybe Chip didn't give Duane a leadership position. Maybe he's just a worker now, so now he can't get off on his power trip.

@nsra1933 Having my own business, I think I've got a *reasonable* understanding of "the business side of things". I'm more than familiar with what a competitor is... in fact, I work WITH one of mine on a regular basis when it's not in the field we compete in.
The fact is, Coddington was not a bike maker, as proven by the utterly heinous snot-green monstrosity they churned out. Mike designing a wheel for Foose's bike was not detrimental to Coddington's business anywhere outside Boyd's skull.

i wouldnt want to work there. setting every deadline 2 weeks too short for comfort. if 1 thing goes wrong or is delayed, the entire project goes into overtime and everybody has to pull allnighters for 3 weeks to pull it off on time. and i doubt they get any paid overtime
