Hey man, lovin the show. Are you using any electronics? If not how do you know the depth and structure your fishing over? I am on the fence about buying a depth finder. Thanks
i have a depth finder and gps.... i dont use them a whole lot... mostly just offshore to find a reef or bait... im not a tech guy... more of a feel guy... i just look at the lay of the land and do my best to judge... drop my line to the bottom and judge depth.... may not win any BASS competitions doing it that way but i just enjoy keeping things simple... not against them at all tho...ty
look for used on craigslist... you can find one from $200-400.... ocean kayak has been around for along time... you can find them alot.... i bought 2 old ocean kayak scuppers for $250 each... i saw a ok drifter for $200 not to long ago... academy sports carries a pelican 12' that new runs $350. not bad for a starter rig...ty
i love top water at day break... my fav ----- 2nd i love soft plastics.... 3rd , i ain't found a fish, salt or fresh that wont hit a rattle trap....ty
I just had a tournament for FSA, (federation of student anglers) and it was 11:45 and we were supposed to be going back to the dock or whatever at 12 to weigh in all the fish. So I put on a top water cuz nothing else was working and first twitch, BAM! 6 pounder right there
super stable... i stand in it all the time.. i bought it to stand and site cast redfish with the flyrod.... little more slower than say a tarpon 14 or a prowler 13 but great on stability.... the hull is much different on the ride.. its a pontoon hull.... kind of like a tunnel hull bay boat.... ty
You guys rock out with your socks out bro! You look like a friend Frank of mine, you might know him as Frantiti. He hunts mainly small mouth marlins, about triple tread, with low tide bleach and foosball jigs. Like my father always used to say, better out than in. Caio.
Because your videos are better than most and likely attract more viewers, it is important to model responsible techniques. Handling fish with wet hands ensures a higher survival rate, even for warm water fish. Dry hands remove protective slime and fish often die days later because of fungus growth. Otherwise, terrific videos.
good tip... i support good catch and release tactics... this is one that i have never thought about in warm water but makes good sense! ill try to get in the habit of wetting the hands... thanks.... ty
the ride is super stable...the hull style makes it a little slower but you kind of have to decide on stable or fast... i got mine to stand in and cast...if i were in southern california and i had my choice of a big water yak it would be the cobra fish'n dive. offshore, the bigger sidwalls of the cobra may be a little drier..i think the ride will do very well in the bay and ok offshore... hope this helps.... ty WHAT!
