  • Our women did this last year for a concert. This song gives me goosebumps. Great job!!!

  • Beautiful. When I was in 6th grade, we did this song. To me, it feels like whenever I sing it, I'm holding a flower of ice, so delicate and so stunning. Nice job. :)

  • Were singing this song in my chorus in 2 days this really helped you guys are awesome(:

  • Haha irony with the baby.

  • Baby cried then she wept no more. Maybe the flower will bloom another year

  • very nice sound,

poor baby, some people fail to understand that babies don't enjoy concerts or movies or recitals

  • We're doing this soon. I'm soooo excited.

  • i love love this song<3 for a second i thought it was lagurdia highschool because they were so good. i didnt expect it from another high school

  • when I was in WSTC Womens Select Treble Chorus at Langley High in Va we did this piece, it was debuted back 2000 or 2001 that's how long ago it was for me to be in high school. its still a beauty, it always makes me want to cry

  • my chorus did this song too. you guys sound great!

  • I definitely hear the first alto part, but yes, the second altos are a little quiet. I must agree, though, that hitting that low F is INCREDIBLY difficult for some women...Overall, it is a job well done!

  • i sang this in the north carolina all state chorus and i loved it!! i was second alto and this was deff my favorite song to do

  • the colorado springs childrens chorale is doin this im an alto. i absolutly love it!!! oh by the way im in pikes peak singers!

  • breathtaking

  • Well done. I would have liked to hear a little more alto. They were a bit weak. Also work on your voewls.

  • I think altos did well, My school is doing this song right now, The note they are hitting is very low, it is very hard to add volume to that, (correction) **Vowels could have been better but, all I think they needed was more diction, all together they did well.

  • @Maudie12345 The alto 2s were the ones hitting the lower notes. The alto 1s were a bit higher. I was alto 1 when I sung this piece in my choir. I would like to hear some more of alto 1.

  • @xxStephie09xx The alto 2 part involves hitting a low F. Multiple times. For women, that's a difficult range to add volume to. I'd definitely know from personal experience. :]

The refrains (Weep no more, o weep no more) would have sounded better with a little more power and darker sound. The sung "I" as in "eyes" wasn't spread enough, either, but the other vowels weren't too bad.

    All in all, beautiful.

Oh, and the accompanist did a great job. Why aren't the accompanists ever recognized?

  • I absolutely love this song. We're singing it in an upcoming concert, and it sends chills down my back every time I hear/sing it. I'm singing alto 2

  • This is the best song my choir ever did! I was a soprano :D

  • I sang this too! :D

I was an alto two... (:

  • i sang this with the edison high mens ensemble in 07 its an amazing piece

  • i cant wait to perform this song this winter with my chorus, it literally gives me chills

  • omg wen my choir performed this song at catholic youth colleges we brought ppl to tears even tho the name of the song is 'weep no more'.

  • I'm a high soprano in this song. and I love it. My choir teacher is crazy, but this is the best song she has chosen us to do.

  • they sing it rather well, but I'm pretty sure my choir can sing it even better!!

  • was this at ransom everglades??

  • is this song available for SATB?

  • uhh if you listen really closely to the alto 2 part its tenor 1 notes. as for bass im not sure im sure you can convert notes into it

  • the all boy's version is better... sorry; this version is beautiful but i've heard it by a boyschoir (it was also slower)... it's just a matter of opinion- it is still beautiful

  • OMG!!! i love this song! we sang it last year it's soooo pretty

  • The student teacher recently started my women's choir (class? xD) on this song. Like, yesterday. :3

    It's easy, but pretty.

I like the tone of this choir--they're not super bright all the time! And they got the count on the "weep" right after "by breast of melodies" right count-wise~ 8D

I can't understand like the first minute and a half though. xD;; Diction there could improve. Or the sound quality of the recording? :?

  • oh lol Its Liberty High School, I love my hs, I loved this song, I'm an alto in this.. :D

  • We're singing this in my Adv. chior for festival it's SO beautifl and I love the piano!

  • i sang this in a state chorus a couple years ago. its sooo beautiful!!

  • Question-- is this at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa? I might be way way off but I"m just wondering....

  • It certainly looks like it. :D

  • No, but Valley Southwoods women's choir is singing this song in the next concert. It looks a lot like Valley's stage though.

  • Love this song. Damn that kid though! NEVER bring infants/toddlers to concerts [or public in general] lol

  • we're singing this in choir :))

it's amaaazing. people in our choir set it as their ringtones and put it on their ipods and stuff, that's how much we love it hahahh.

  • yeah were singing this in select chorus and itsd ahhmazingg!

  • I'm working on this for S&E with a group of my three best friends. it coming along pretty well so far, but i like the sound of a larger group better than a quartet.

  • we're singing this in our select chorus and i just think its the most beautiful song ever(:

  • I remember when our choir went on tour a long time ago and another choir did this song. So good. Good times

  • This sounded great... but you just can't beat actualy sitting between the two parts when their singing to each other, tha's when you really here the eco effect.

  • who is the dick that brought their baby. good tho.

  • seriously.

  • haha thats what I thought!!

  • i wanna hear more clarity and a bigger sound from the altos to give more balance but this was an amazing job

  • I'm actually very greatful for the powerful soprano section... I'm a soprano and have a week to learn this song for a county choir performance, and I'm biting my nails! LOL

  • great

  • we sang this in my women's choir at school! it's a beautiful song!

  • that baby was pretty annoying.

and it was ironic to hear a crying baby when we performed this same piece at my all-state chorus concert there was a restless child [that you can hear on the cd!].

i would say just exaggerate more dynamics...but you're not a large group. you sounded wonderful for a high school ensemble! good job! this is one of the best i've heard on youtube. :)

  • Beautiful! An excellent job! :)

  • This was pretty good. My choir back in high school did this song too. We took that song and The Pelican to out of state competitions and would always win first place. We did those songs justice and its nice to finally hear someone take the song at the speed it should be going..why speed up a lovely song? nicely job done!

  • this is the original speed, but i just haven't heard a choir sing it as good as our choir did....mihs in 2002....i wish we had youtube back then...lol o well anyway...it was still good...some notes were a bit off but great performance even with the baby....

  • yea idk why the director didn't wait for the crying baby to stop before she started, but what do u mean "most directors"?? i've never met a director that would stop after they had already started!

anyways, lovely song, some vowels were a little sketchy, but other than that nicely done

  • everytime i hear this i cry and think about my choir sister Felicia. r.i.p fe fe i love you

  • Why did your director continue with the crying baby? Most directors would stop until the kid was gone.

  • our choir did this song to iot had alot of our aduNCE in tears and we WON at hershy park lol you guys did a good job at this song to GO AYLOR CHOIR lol

  • really great job.

  • Our MADS (Madrigals)...(Women in the choir) are doing this. I wish you all could hear it. Heavenly. They NADS(Guy group) are doing Stand By Me.

Hoooraaah! Shout out to my Nu Alpa Delta Sigma!

  • I think another choir was so much better

  • this is good, but i think this piece is meant for a bigger sound. The mens choir i am in does it and it has more of dynamic sound to it which i believe is better.

  • Um yeah, you're going to get better dynamics with a larger group. But six of us performed this song as an ensemble in contest and we rocked it; we were only two or three points away from a perfect score =) Good times.

  • David Childs is an amazing New Zealand composer every song that we have sung of his in my choir in New Zealand has sounded amazing

  • the 2nd altos are singing an octave above what theyre supposed to.

other than that, its very good.

  • i love this piece and u guys do a very good job on it. i fell in love with this piece when i heard it at a festival my choir sang at in march. keep up the good work!

  • There never fails to be a crying baby. Can't these people find a babysitter? I have loved this song ever since my school's best choir (the Teen Tones) sang it.

  • I studied at Blair and sang in the Vanderbilt Children's Concert Choir. David Childs worked and perhaps still works at Vandy. Brings back so many memories from my high school days and traveling around the world for choir tours. We sang this song at ground zero in NYC. So moving.

  • Actually I believe David Childs passed away recently. At least that's what I've heard...

  • This is the best version of this song I've heard on youtube!

  • good blend...alto's good job holding ya part

  • this is so butiful

  • i remember when my choir sun this last year. ou guys are pretty good, if you want a to hear mine just lemme know i'll send it to you.

i just cant really hear the alto 2's other than that its pretty awesome.

  • wow that had some bad spelling lol

i just wanted to add you have a pretty solid alto 1 section i LOVE it!

  • yes, they do.

    maybe a little too solid.

a little bit less and it would be perfect.

well, maybe a little more sopranos. :)

  • You Guys sound preety good compared my to my choir but ours is still better

  • My choir is singing this but we have guys singing the bottom lines

but u guys sound really good to!

  • they should of like male basses in the background to just carry the melodey...

  • what??

  • The song is specifically written for girls choir. I'm singing this for UIL!

  • beautiful... simply beautiful

  • Tempo is way too fast. Listen to the ACDA 2004 concert in Boston recording done by the Eastern Division childrens Honor Choir. Thats how you do it. But this one isnt too bad.

  • ok, kick rocks cuz this is gorgeous!! i absolutly love this peice. we heard a group sing it at a contest and blackmailed our chorus teacher to let the girls sing it... nice job ladies

  • holy crap.

i LOVE that i can hear each freaking voice part.

in my opinion, this song is written to show off second sopranos.

    =].

when i sang this with my choir, i was bawling at the end of it. i love it. <3.

but dr. childs isn't very nice. haha!

  • but you keep bobbing your head on 'weep'

  • absolutely astounding

  • silly baby..crying during the whole concert. -_-;;

  • i was like 'when did we perform this song at a fall concert?'

    but this isnt us...

    and i wish u had ours...biotch.

    and the dream tree!! :*(
