Lol, in Cataclysm, there's this new 'Scarlet Champion' called Joseph the Insane (or Awakened), and of course he's in all the scarlet looking armor and stuff, but the REALLY WEIRD thing is, before Cataclysm, I used to roleplay as a holy paladin named Justin Joseph Redpath, and he was a scarlet champion, and later he went insane (can't explain all, very long story), I wonder, though highly unlikely, that Blizzard made an NPC after me..

The Scarlet Crusade is not 'evil' and never was. They're highly misdirected and mislead because of the demonic infestation in their leadership. When the demons are gone for good, I think it's very plausible to see the SC rejoin their bretheren in the (now) Argent Crusade.

I love what rivendare says about them- I believe the scarlet crusade is unique among humans. Our encounters with them have been some of tragic losses in human history. well i dont think you are playing on DFB, i was one of the first members of that guild when the guild was true to the cuase, now the only thing that this guild has in common with the scarlet crusade is the name, they role-play something like stormwinds guard and they believe that the 'northern' scarlet crusade is corrupt and evil, they are just deserters, great disappointment because it was a great guild that was picking fights at goldshire everyday like true crusaders we were

Umm, I would guess that the scarlet crusade sing in Common not Latin. I think Gnomechewer put it in to give atmosphere. If you want to find a parallel, I think you would probably the closest link in the Crusades of the 11th-15th century

The Scarlet Crusade has to be one of the more interesting 'sub-factions' in WoW... in particular since they fit so well into the lore YET bear unmistakable real-life historical parallels.
