  • this is out of time, out of feeling and out of anything, that sounds well. nothing left to say except: someone help me, oh please god help me!

  • You've ruined that cab. Great.

  • Nice, I'm really liking these jcm 2000 heads, again nice playing, most people look like they're having a shit when they play this, (tension)

  • You should upload a free-style guitar solo.

  • wow 101 are stupid and jealous you are amazing bro

  • some parts of it were very slow and messed the whole thing up.... nice try though, and nice amp , although the choice of the guitar wasn't apropriate for that kind of solo's....

  • Awesome! All most no fails. And almost the same sound as Kirk Hammett

  • I would kill to own that amp

  • some parts was very good and some needed more practice. good job

  • WOOOOOOOWWWWWW hol shit this rocker is awesome

  • MASOMENOS PRACTICA MAS

  • he's no hammett but he can sure play, wish i had someone to jamm to like this

  • Great bro!!!!!!!

  • needs wah bro, great amp though

  • If you like this cover you should check out mine!!

  • This video made me start saving up for a DSL. I should have one in September/October :D Thanks almondtoe

  • I like the Mesa logo written in tape lol

  • i didn't know the jonas brothers could play metallica so well :D

  • nice man

  • mesa?

  • rock gruftie^^

  • good but just a little bit more practice

  • nice cover drew when did u record this?

  • nice, i have to admit.

  • esta weno, que pedal usaste?

  • ni un brillo el tapping, lo demas es aceptable :S

  • Good job man :)

  • if you use 9-42 strings on this clip I am surprised that there is no buzzing sound, do you use hush pedal?

  • sorry.... that's no cool.... buy a nice sg standar

  • i like it ;) good improvisation is some parts

  • sucks balls & gibson sucks balls to

  • @bcrichbeatstnt1 Gibson sucks coming from a person who's username is bcrich... How ironic can it be, bcrich has like the worst guitars ever made and gibson one of the best. Btw nice video+guitar!

  • @vonnicolai that was my old account

my new account is bobbriessinck and i'm using ESP guitars

ESP is much better than gibson, the solo sucks balls

  • @BobBriessinck esp is not better than gibson. i have a les paul studio thats $800 and a $1200 esp and i replaced the pickups and put a floyd rose on the esp and the cheaper les paul sounds and plays way better

  • @fenderstratjourney your "esp" is probably an ltd and u have probably raplaced them with some shit pickups which cost 50euros

  • wtf...

  • I didn't know Nick Jonas played an SG.

  • nice playing.

  • Good picking technique

  • You look like a Jonas Brother

  • @kristofor12345

    plays like one too

  • meh..

the notes were there, but you went out of time so much, slowed down on some parts, then sped back up, cut some licks short and it was just all over the place

  • eq amp??? you use digitech rp150 + jcm 2000 distortion or jcm 2000 distortion only??

  • baaaaaaddddd

  • why you play that shit slow ?

  • @ramy627

man, he is just showing us how you dont need to be good to have good stuff

  • @ewmehmo Very true...but in this case I think he's not a horrible player...he's just put up a video of him practicing something (that is...it's not performance ready. It sounds sloppy). However, I'm sure if he works at it he'll be able to play it. There are sections he plays flawlessly, but they are brief. Kirk's solos are just pretty hard to play noiselessly...you pretty much need something to dampen the strings or be ridiculously godlike on the guitar.

  • @jimmyjacksn i don't agree. I don't think much of Hamett personaly and most metal guitarists i know don't. He's sloppy and one dimensional. That's just how i feel though and i know alot of people like him still and it's all personal preferance. What i don't get is why Metallica fans always use Marshalls (i know Kill 'em all had them) because they used Mesa amps. Mark II C and C+ amps.

  • @diesect33 This is jim from below, I just have a new youtube account...I didn't say that he was amazing, I just think that his solos are pretty noisy sounding to play (not in a band setting but alone). I agree with you 100% that kirk is one dimensional and sloppy though. I think Ride the Lightning is a masterpiece as it is recorded however. For its time it was really good, but kh didn't progress as a guitarist. He got worse over time actually lol.

  • @gitarmanjim1985 Yeah i love Ride the lightning and Master of Puppets. Those two albums...Kill 'em all lol. Yeah they're great though.

  • @diesect33 also, I'm about 99% positive that metallica started using Mesa amps on the master of puppets album. I think at this point hetfield was using a JCM800 with a proco rat distortion pedal in front. Even MOP was recorded with a mesa mark 2c+ slaved into a jcm 800 (possibly for more gain and/or more warm). It is true that they eventually went over to mesa only although I'm not sure when this occurred. Either AJFA or Black album.

  • @gitarmanjim1985 yeah he probably used the IIC+ as the preamp into the 800 as a power amp. The 800 is ungodly loud and the IIC+ while nice in tone is a fairly meager amp. I love my rectoverb though :)

  • @diesect33 they use Marshalls because both Kill em All and Ride the Lightning were recorded with modded Marshalls, JMP's i believe

  • Learn how to tap...

  • i didn't know joe jonas could play metallica =D

  • slash did technically play a Gibson SG. but he only used the double neck version to use the 12-string part on the more ballad typed GNR songs.

  • @VampirexGuitarist have you heard of video description? : Faded Gibson SG with Seymour Duncan JB's

  • Gibson SG ??? Go play guns and roses

  • @enzoenzo93 slash never played an sg.....lol

  • @Super9069 GIBSON.

  • @Super9069 i don't mean to be the smart ass, but saul hudson (aka Slash) owns and plays SG's, he just prefers Les Pauls. There's videos on youtube of his guitars, and he owns multiple SG's.

  • @dillioneberle slash said in many of his interviews that he has a ton of guitars including stratocasters and telecasters. He probably did play an SG, but not in his professional career . he did however play a BC rich Mockingbird for a very long time.

  • @Super9069 exactly o.o

  • ouch, it could have been better, just need to work on this better

  • Sloppy playing? A bit. Really bad timing? Not really, considering you're playing by yourself. I'm not a big fan of SGs or Marshalls, but the tone is good nonetheless. Nice, big FAT power chords.

  • You need a metronome.

  • way off beat man

  • Thanks for not talking and for just playing. . it is appreciated. Nice video. .

  • Dude thats a good tone. What channel and settings are u using here?

  • good cover

  • the best cover of this solo i've ever heard

  • Haha nice cab =)

  • great! but its a little faster :)

  • good man good! \../

  • dude

your playing does not warrant a JCM 2000

put it away for a few years

  • If you have a Gibson SG and a Marshall DSL50 why would you kill the world by using a Digitech RP150

  • Completely agree, the dsl distortion is beast, i'm not much for the tsl's tho, It's weird.

  • nice

  • METRONOME PLZ

  • need metronome

  • he is not playing to any beat so he needs an actual drums and a base on the background to stay in time...

  • @dako89 no you don't lol a decent player should be able to keep time on their own

  • @Ratchetftw but iif he is showing the solo he doesn't really need to be on time, it will be bad if he'd play the solo with the backing track and be off time, u know what i mean?

  • hah i got that same maiden shirt and same marshall head

  • good cover 5 stars :D

  • what are your amp settings for this?

  • that was pretty good. but i think the beginning tap part was sped up a bit

  • true men,

    dude, you suck!

  • sounds good and you have some nice equipment, the playing is just a little sloppy

  • @bigassmatic it's just very noticeable because you didn't use a backing track. Very good cover!

  • very good!

  • That amp is just aching for some Greenbacks.

  • i kinda like dthe solo going slow instead of fast. any way, it was pretty good in general. you played some parts wrong and some mistakes but i liked it :) keep up the good work!

  • ouch

  • omg that was amazing! sounded just like the real thing!

  • ending was awesome!

  • some mistakes but in general is goog

  • MESA!!!

  • its nice just need better timing,

  • intro to the solo was too short!

  • awesome bro

  • DUDE YOU ROCK

  • did you try this amp with the marshall 1960a cab buddy? i'm looking into maybe switching cabs, not sure yet

  • get the 1960 they rock

  • more than something with v30's in it? I am trying to hear the difference, i think the speakers in the 1960 break up quicker, but have better clears? thats what i've gathered from what others say. They also handle lower wattages?

  • Some of it was really great, timing could be better some places, and bends

  • I think i like Marshall's classic rock(vintage) tone better than mesa's, and i've heard the cleans are better too, maybe because it comes with reverb... my mesa is great for metallica, and amazing for heavy stuff like nickelback, fuel, etc. it pulls off acdc but can't come close to marshall. and the cleans suck, although i haven't tried a reverb pedal yet. could be simply its 6l6's vs el34's. who knows...

  • What do you guys think? JCM2000 dsl100 or mesa boogie dual rectifier? thinking about trading my dual rect straight up for the jcm2000 and keeping my boogie cab with it.

  • If you like heavey metallica riffs and nu metal and death metal, keep the dual rec. If you like classic rock get the Marshall

  • But I like both!!! I feel like I play so much more marshallish type music though... metallica is only one band, and i'm not one of those guys that is obsessed and only plays metallica... lol

  • Well the Marshall can handle most metallica songs, you might need 2 get a pedal to give it so more gain though, make sure you get a good cab though to handle the lows. The dsl100 wil also give you those classic rock tones, and will to pretty well fro metallica

  • Hell yea dude thats all I need... now for which marshall to get.. the jcm800 sounds awesome, I just saw a comparison, put people keep saying try jvm, or try jmp, what the hell are those? i'm looking for a tube amp, too many freakin models of amps...

  • ive had them all, peavey jsx, mesa dual recto and now i have a marshall jvm.. its pure and simple it does dream theater stuff but does ac/dc and sweet cleans, dual recto is just heavey and fizzy imo. the marshall is great on low volume aswell as high volumes

  • Thanks man, I am quickly learning for my taste I should have gotten a marshall... This guy is offering to trade me his modded 1987x plexi head straight up... the mod was just for a master volume. What do you think? Awesome trade, or wait for a jcm? I think I like the JCM800, unless they are close....

  • sounds good, although i tried alot of marshalls and imo if u want a varied selection of tones from your am the tsl or jvm would do it, although i found the jvm did modern metal tones by far the best and the midi abilities to go from crunchy ac/dc to full blown metal seems a perfection array of choices if u like marshall tones and mesa ones, like i do

  • yea man since you've mentioned it i'm checking out the jvm right now on youtube... looks pretty sweet. Will this thing give you the famous marshall vintage tone? Like the plexi or jcm800? you know... like guns n roses, creamy leads and led zeppelin etc.. or is it sacrificed because of the extra gain section? I love both marshall and mesa dude... for sure!

  • wait a sec...... its a amzing for classic marshall like guns and zep ac/dc etc creamy marshall joy!!! the diff with the jvm with other marshalls is the extra gain stage to get that modern tone, if they want to compete with mesa they needed to add this ability and this was why i traded my dual recto for the jvm cos it does it all!!!

  • Hell yea dude I'm glad we bumped into eachother!! So Glad!! Thanks man!!

  • hey i went to see steel panther last nght and the guitarist "satchel" was running through a marshall tsl and dsl and his tone was stunning! sweet solos and crunchy big rhytm check it out !

  • From what i've heard I would have to agree with you.

  • Awesome dude. the only thing:

IDK if you got that pick tapping thing from dragonforce but, its a better idea to tap with fingers...dragonforce is crap!

very nice solo bud. also, no offense, but you look like you should be doing a My Chemical Romance cover lol, id change to like metallica style :)

  • Joe Satriani and Steve Vai use pick tapping. if you know how to do it correctly, it sounds better and much cleaner than using your finger.

  • @0xNecrox0

    Yes, but EVH didn't ;)

  • @0xNecrox0 It's impossible for me to use finger, pick is so much cleaner anyway, you're right

  • @0xNecrox0 I'm sorry, but it doesn't. If you play tap enough with your finger, it will sound so much better, you will be able to do multiple finger tappings, and you won't screw up your fingerboard.

  • great

  • たわごとのように聞こえる

  • Dude, you're better off without the Mesa tape on the cab. It looks like shit.

  • @sixxthunderbird

yep. just like a real mesa cab would be :D:D

  • just a lil sketchy. i dont know how you can settle for that, its good, but its not great, by any means. practice till you nail this perfectly. nice mesa cab by the way punk

  • Drew, no more covers? You didn't make one for a while..

  • amazinggg!!!!!! you rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice job

  • how long you been playin?

  • wow. man thats insane haha. ill be able to do that someday

  • 1:38... luv that part :) Nic job.

  • yeah its my fav solo ever

  • you suck

  • WTF!!! you probably couldn't even play as half as good as he can, so shut the fuuck up you dirty beaner

  • you are an idiot

  • how am i an idiot?

    I only speak the truth,

I didnt say you were bad,

    so shut the fuck up

  • awesome

  • Look at 0:12

It's The Pick Of Destiny, It Does Exist

  • i have that one too

  • Yea, but he makes it look good

  • I don't like that pick.. It makes it much more difficult to tap and make harmonics..

  • Я люблю тебя

Thats I love you in Russian sweetheart.

    -Tay

  • Nice tone :D

But I think this video only needs one thing to make it better.. Some backing.. That's just a personal issue though I hate listening to a guitar on its own =/

  • lol it sounds as if you learnt it from like guitar pro or something, try to make it sound more natural.

  • nothing wrong with guitar pro :)

  • how much money, all your stuffs?

  • this may be me, but that looks like an sg standard. anyway awesome cover.

  • is that mesa cabinet a tube amp? srry i dont know a lot about amps all i pretty much know is that marshalls are tube amps

  • its a cabinet, not an amp.

  • same shit, but do u know if its tube like marshall?

  • It's just speakers, there are no tubes anywhere in any speaker cabinet for guitars. They are passive, they take the signal from the amplifier (which can be tube, which this one is) and give you sound from the speakers.

  • Totally lol'd for that :D:D couldnt help it X)

  • 1. well done, ya beat me by a mile lol

    2. i hate to be the nagging asshole, but any1 who said "put some feeling into it" is right. if i ever like to learn another bands' songs then i add a bit of myself into the song, not just copy it note by note.

  • you gotta be the smartest guy on youtube with the amp more expensive then guitar trick

  • your playing is good bud, but in my opinion you just play the notes. slap some feeling in it dude :P

    bbuuuuuttttt verry well done

    cheers

  • hey nice, but need some practise. Im suprised you could remember it all, im hopeless at that type of thing

  • It needs more practice, but more importantly, it's lacking soul. When you solo you have to put some feeling into it...Or in this case, the same feeling that Kirk Hammett (or Dave Mustaine) put into it.

  • metallica ownz!!!!

  • shut up Metallica are amazing...

  • little slow but still good

  • drew your hella good!

  • You need some practice there bud.

  • what aer your presets

  • could use quite a bit of work, but very impressive. im also lovin that chunky tone

  • niice =]
