you should post videos of you puppy eating, and growing. When she gets bigger make another video showing how healthy and big she is. btw so CAUUUTTTEEEE!!!!
@piepeace That is the truth! I wish more people had that mindset. The unfortunate thing is, not a whole lot either know or really acknowledge what goes into making veal. I spread the word as much as I can.
@BillHicks420 They take the baby cow away from its mother as soon as its born then kill it. It has not ever drank its first sip of milk form its mother when they murder it.
My pup is due home on the 21st (8 weeks old) I'm really keen on introducing this diet - how would I go about it without upsetting her stomach too much? The breeder has her on a fairly cheap kibble diet that I liken to as junk food and I want to give her the best start without causing too much upset. Your help, as a breeder, would be appreciated
@defendingdog As I mentioned to someone who private messaged me, my first port of call was rehoming centres but nobody actually realises how difficult it is to get a dog from a centre in the UK. First of all, I have 3 young children 4 years and below. Everywhere I contacted asked for children 8 years and over who are 'dog savvy'. How am I to achieve this?
@defendingdog So I failed at the first hurdle. I've waited for my dog until I was at the point in my life where I could support a dog for all it's needs. It's taken 15 years. The centres ask I wait till my youngest is 8 (another 7 years) and also that she's completely knowledgeable around dogs. Again, how do I achieve this? I have no family members with dogs. Secondly, the checks are extensive and extremely probing. You need bank statements, house checks and references.
@defendingdog The areas I'm from, if you work, they'll ring up your boss to check your weekly hours. People assume I'm a bad person just because I bought my dog from a breeder. Am I a bad person because I wanted my kids to grow up with these wonderful companions? No, I'm not. The breeder I bought her from made sure she had the best start in life regarding all health checks for her parents. Let this answer the question to everyone else who sneers at me about buying from a breeder.
@defendingdog ...I've grown up around dogs, dipshit. My children haven't though, have they? Idiot. Read what I wrote carefully. They require my children to have experience about dogs before rehoming. They also need to be 8 years old and over. Nobody in our family have dogs. Wow. Seriously? Go eff yourself and your narrowminded BS. Also, check the UK KC. She's registered. They have strict guidelines. Oh. You're blocked, btw.
@defendingdog and what about the age thing, the children probably do like dogs, but aren't 8 years old yet. I agree with tehn0odles, I think blocking you was probably the right move.
I fed my lil pomchi raw chicken but he didnt take to it very well, It seemed like he prefered the rotissory chicken i'd bring home from the super market than the raw. So i reverted back to kibble which i didnt want to do in the first place. So i tried raw again with better success, my dog seems to prefer raw beef and pork rather than chicken. Yay! He's under my bed right now chomping on a pork neck. Happy pet :)
@SpArklingKnigHt I would feed one or the other because "dog food" takes longer to digest than say "Raw food" feeding both can make the other fermintate
Every other day would be fine. Daily would be better. That would be much better than daily processed dog food which is garbage as far as I'm concerned. Dogs are meat eaters. They should be eating raw meat, pork, chicken, fish along with bone, organs, skin...Just like if they were to catch a rabbit, deer and eat it.
@thehomefront Inbreeding can be blamed for HD in Labradors. Just like inbreeding is blamed for the Cavalier's congenital heart problems - if you go to a proper breeder who has their labrador's (mum and dad) hip, elbow and eyes properly scored (anything under a 5 for hips is best avoided) then you're off to a good start. Don't over-excersise your pup (5 mins for every month of it's age (till it's 12 months) a day - 3 month old pup = 15 minutes) and I'm sure you'll have a fit, healthy dog.

@Tehn0odles Take them to a shelter, let them to a job shadow. It is a good idea to get them dog savvy beofre owning one.

do you know why labs suffer so much with hip displasia?
my vet told me its very rare for a lab not to suffer with his hips at one stage in his life.
i really wanted one but this reason put me off.
