  • I've recently obtained a used tarot deck. Is there a simple way to cleanse them of negative energies?

  • @PhoenixImmortal18 Use sage as a smudge. You can either buy a small tied bundle or make one from freshly dried sage tied up with cotton kite cord. Get a silk or linen cloth, large enough to wrap your deck. In a quiet area set the cloth out & open your deck. Light the bundle & extinguish it to smolder in a safe container. Pass each card through the smoke, say you are removing negativity & bless them for use. Stack each card on the cloth, let no one else handle them thereafter.

  • @magickwyrd Thanks! :)

  • hello - have you seen or heard about that new deck coming out in Feb? It's called the Mary-El. The artist has a website, if you get a chance, look it up. It's an art type deck, and I am more for traditional decks - but this one is absolutely gorgeous. If you get a chance, check it out.

  • @Bhav341 Hello, this Tarot partly mimics Rider-Waite cards, but adds to the images for a completely different outcome. The creator did not intend this deck for divination, it is a personal guide. You see angels, both good and evil, playing different roles. As a guide to good living, there are no spread or instructions for divination. The booklet gives advice via a sacred text and all the meanings are taken from the Bible, specifically, from the books of Proverbs and of Ecclesiasticus.

  • @magickwyrd some might be disappointed about all that, but I'm not. I like using these personal decks now and then, and I am intrigued with the Bible meanings. Anyway, my collection is full of decks I don't read with. I am an artist myself, and just enjoy some of these decks for the sake of their beauty and artist's message.

  • @Bhav341 hi again, I don't think you should worry, this deck can be used as a Tarot, it has enough of the arcana properties that an experienced reader may well be able to use these cards. It certainly won't hurt to try if you have a firm grasp of standard meanings. Like you, I have many decks that are kept for their aesthetics, I read decks that resonate with me, but I collect them for the same reasons, their beauty.

  • just out of interest is that collection around like 300 dollars or so?

  • @TheStfu1000 Hello, I can't really put a monetary value on the decks, they may be valuable in that some are difficult to find. For me the value is in the cards themselves, but I have sold decks that were quite rare. Since I collect them I often have more than one copy, over decades I obtained quite a few as gifts. Mostly I am strongly attracted to them and can't resist owning another deck.

  • I loooooooooooooooove the second egyptian one :D so beautiful

  • @Rashishi1444 I agree, but I love many Tarot decks, the art is spectacular, even in some of the simplest cards and those that are not so serious. If you are looking for the Egyptian deck, go to a local occult or spiritual store and handle them, see if they are for you. Blessed be~

  • Excellent video. Just a suggestion, but it would be great to see this in the "Meditation/ Softly Spoken" Section. Of course if you redid tis tutorial, you would have to either whisper it, or present it in a way that is relaxing to the viewer. I'm sure you could get lots of viewers very quickly. You would also have to begin your title with "Whispering/ Softly Spoken Tarot Card- - -

etc., But just a suggestion! Thanks!

  • @RelaxLonely Thanks for the thoughtful comments. I may have to look at that section, it might be worthwhile to try it. Glad you enjoyed the vidoe, and thanks again.

    Blessed be~

  • It would help if you tell me what Tarot deck you are using? If you don't know, are there 78 cards, 22 cards, or some other number? Tarot decks are typically divided into two distinctive parts, known as Major and Minor Arcana. The Major contains 22 cards and is typically well illustrated, but the 56 cards of the Minor is often depicted in pips like icons, with little or no illustration. There are some decks treated like Tarot that are not of the traditional variety, more like playing cards.

  • What is the significance of the number on the 4 suit cards? My deck doesn't have pictures on the suit cards, just the number and suit.

  • @baschlesser Hi again, maybe I could explain that each number signifies the card placement in the deck, plus each has a specific definition. Some Tarot decks have no numbering. The Major Arcana, or Trump, cards number 0 to 21 for twenty-two standardized cards. There is a specific number for each described card. Some decks vary Judgement and Strength cards which are either #8 or #11. The Minor Arcana has 56 cards divided into 4 four suites with five Court cards, numbered similar to playing cards.

  • This video has turned me on to so many decks - but, a lot of them are out of print and much harder to find, or very expensive - however, yesterday I bid on and won for $15 the Mystic Meg deck, still sealed in brand new condition!! Now if only I could find the Masonic for less than $50....

  • @Bhav341 Very reasonable for this deck, a bonus that it is new. The Masonic is very difficult to find at a good price, though keep watching, I have seen it for around $75 VG used. I love mine, the symbolism is intriguing and beautifully executed. Best wishes in your pursuit of Tarot collecting.

  • A deck I have that I absolutly love is the Faulkner Tarot Deck by Rhiannon Faulkner. She's a lady from England and she's brilliant! Her deck is so unique and modern! It's the first deck that uses live photographs. The deck is absolutly amazing! I'm new to tarot myself and I swear by this deck! She also has a workbook that explains each card in modern details. I've learned so much from her. Watch her videos and buy her deck and workbook. I promise, you won't be disappointed!

  • @leopardprincess420 I will visit her site, I do not have that deck and she does sound interesting. Blessed Be~

  • i love the japanese deck

  • thats a beautiful collection of decks. I have a bunch too, love them & thanks for sharing

    love & light

    alex

  • Hi phaelangels, I'm always happy to hear from others with an interest in Tarot, reading or collecting. Thank you for visiting, I'm glad you enjoyed the decks I shared. Blessed be~

  • Hi, I am completely new in tarot, and I have bought a beautiful deck of rider. Waite tarot cards. But I haven't seem to get any positive results yet, because I don't know how to use them... Is it also possible to pick a favourite card of my deck, that holds extra magick in it?

  • @MrSupernatural4ever I highly recommend Rider-Waite to learn. A fully illustrated deck allows you to learn both Arcana. The majors deal with the universal patterns of human behavior and how it is influenced, describing the stages of human experience in progression. The minor cards follow everyday experience, people, places, activities & your desires, the colors & images reveal circumstances. Study each card and find the stories in them. I recommend learntarot com -an excellent learning resource.

  • Hi Behav341. The deck you are looking for is the Piatnik Wien Tarot. There are several available on Amazon Com. Not to expensive, and a very interesting modern deck that is collectable for it's unusual art. You can see a description at themysticeye com. Thanks for watching~

  • @magickwyrd thanks, I was able to find one.

  • @crzypagangirl, I too am addicted to Tarot decks, so many amazing interpretations to admire. I love esoteric decks. The Masonic, Hermetic, Alchemical, Stairs of Gold and Egipcios Kier Tarots speak to me. However, the Rider-Waite deck is a solid reader, familiar and responsive in symbolism. You will find your deck, but take some time with each one. Two things - how comfortable does it feel, and images should absorb your attention. Familiarity will come, and so will visions when its right for you.

  • @magickwyrd I have been trying to find the French deck, 2nd row, 2nd from left, the large deck. Do you have the spelling on that one? I haven't been able to track it down. Thanks!

  • I love that Masonic deck...so looked it up, on Amazon a new one is over $400. I wouldn't pay that much, but it is beautiful.

  • excellent video. I would definitely appreciate more along these lines, and more about reading. Thanks for posting.

  • I was wondering how you learned tarot... was it through books, a teacher and I was curious of your tarot rituals too. For example, if you shuffle a specific way or do you read reverse cards? Sorry for my spazz-tic post, I would love to learn more, please keep making videos. :P

  • Hi @crzypagangirl, my mother was a gypsy witch. I learned about tarot when my intuitive sense began to grow, at about 11 or 12. I used playing cards that weren't exactly like common tarot decks, but the interpretation related to court cards and numbers essentially the same. I don't shuffle in any special way, other than holding the cards as I consider the subject and question. Yes, I read reverse cards whose meanings vary in intensity. Tarot relays the message and the reader sees the vision.

  • @magickwyrd That's really cool! I've been studying tarot on and off, and I'm completely addicted to buying new decks... but I'm having a hard time connecting with them. I think it's self doubt and I can't make up my mind on an official deck to work with. I also thought, if I just focused on the upright meanings it could give me a stepping stone. But I'm not quite sure, cause I know reverses are just as important ... May I ask your wisdom on this...?

  • @crzypagangirl one of the problems is too many decks to choose from, and the makers try to be unique and make up their own cards and meanings, which makes every deck different - so, jumping from deck to deck, it can be confusing. I started learning with regular playing cards, but I think the best way for beginners is to buy a version of the Rider Waite deck, such as the Universal Waite. It's pretty, easy to find, and has symbols that are easy to understand, and interpret.

  • @crzypagangirl (Magickwyrd, I hope you don't mind me commenting on this)

trying to memorize ea. card can be daunting. A good start is to learn about suites, & numbers & what they mean - cups are often about emotions, 3's about growth - so, a very standard meaning of the 3 of cups could possibly mean growth in emotional matters. Find books that teach like this, to give you a better overall understanding before breaking it down to individual cards. Easy Tarot Guide, author Masino, is one.

  • Hi itachisoh1. If you have trouble with the Witchy Tarot, maybe it isn't the best deck for you. It is a bright & colorful deck, with a teenage witch theme & basic elements. The Tarot Box has the Sharman-Caselli deck, which is also a modern theme. You might try the Rider-Waite which is very intuitive, or the Gilded Tarot, which I've heard many say is a receptive deck.

  • OMG you have another 100+ decks?? i only have 14decks now, i have trouble with a deck name Whitchy Tarot and a tarot that come in a box which states "The Tarot Box"

  • Everyone needs information to learn. As to the cards, it is chance. That is why they are aka cards of "fortune". Cards shuffled, cut, and drawn, are unique to you. You can call it fate (neither positive or negative), meaning the cards are inevitable, and influenced by the force or power that would reveal your future. More important is interpretation of the cards randomly selected from the deck.

Spirits are always among us. I can email a protection blessing if you feel any negativity present.

  • Hi again. Sorry if this sounds too ignorant. When we pick a card, is it our subconcious picking it for us or the spirits around us? How can one tell whether the spirits are negative or positive? If it is our subconcious picking it, does our subconcious know the full picture (in another words, is it reliable)? Would one's ESP intefere with the choice of cards? For example, picking out the cards that one wants to see. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Zacmosai, you are always welcome to ask questions.

  • The Haindl Tarot can be read the same as Rider type decks. You need to look at the suits and view their relationship to a more typical deck. If you have a favorite deck compare the cards side by side, and note any symbolic similarities. Practice until you feel comfortable about the suits and you will enjoy reading these cards. I find they are quite sensitive.

  • @magickwyrd Thank you!

  • I see that you used the Haindl Tarot Deck in one of your videos. Is it necessary to read the two books by Rachel Pollack in order to use the deck? Thanks! (I love your videos! I watch them over and over again.)

  • Hi, yes I do have the Golden Tarot. I like the antiquity in the colors, costumes, and the flattened early Renaissance imagery. The Major suit cards are softly symbolic, like the Death card, making this deck less daunting to persons receiving a reading.

  • I love viewing Tarot Decks. Do you have the Golden Tarot by Liz Dean? If not I highly recommend it. The pip cards (two-ten) are simple but the colors and major arcana make up for it.
